My tip is to really get to know your professors and advisers. EKU is a pretty small school so it is easy to do this and they often pass on opportunities that they hear about. Without the help of my adviser I never would have found the amazing study abroad experience that I had. I also had professors tell me about jobs they thought I would be great for.

Always go to class, even if it's a lecture and they don't take attendance. Make sure you a prepared and organized. Go to the library, it's a great place to stay focused and remove yourself from distractions. Before classes start, go to your buildings and walk the route you are going to take to make sure you have enough time to get to class on time.
