Sit in on a class, the professors are great. I went to a comparative politics class and the professor was so interesting, he even personally included me in the discussion and asked me some questions. Try and visit when they have their students only beach barbeque. I was a little nervous going by myself, but everyone made me feel welcome and a learned a lot about the school by interacting with the students in a relaxed atmosphere. Make sure your admissions counselor knows you are coming, he/she will really hook you up. I had a really great interview with mine, even though I'm only a Junior. By the time I got home from my trip, I had a nice postcard from my admissions counselor and my tour guide. The tour guide gave me his personal e-mail and said I could e-mail him any time I wanted to ask questions or just stay in touch.

If you love the ocean and outdoors, this is a great school. However, if you are not majoring in Marine Biology or Environmental Science, it really isn't worth the price you have to pay for the education. Marine Program is definitely one of the top in the US but any other degree would be a waste of money to attend Eckerd.
