Explore Boston! There is so much to do and being an Emerson student we get free access to the MFA, Gardner Museum (my favorite museum), and the ICA.

Boston offers a lot of opportunities to try new things and have fun between classes or on the weekends. Coffee shops, restaurants, parks, gardens, and shops are all within a ten minute walk from the main campus, so you're never short of things to do or see. There is a huge movie theater right across the street from the main campus as well, so you can choose to go catch a film minutes before it starts. Be sure to save your summer job pennies though! Boston offers a lot, but most things come at a price, whether it's shopping, tours, comedy clubs, or sporting events!

Emerson, though it's not explicitly a performing arts school, is heavily involved with the arts. We own five theaters with student performances or company performances, and each ticket is only $15 as opposed to $65 for students. There are like, a million groups on campus who organize events or give comedic performances of their own. There's an open-mic night nearly every other week. And, of course, you're in the city! Just walk around for a little bit, or travel three stops on the T, and you'll find something to easily. Plus, you get MFA tickets for free.

Boston is an awesome city, I imagine that there's always something to do. Whenever I visit I love going to Faneuil Hall or the North End.

The chances of all of your friends being in organizations is pretty high, so as the year gets going you can expect there to be free performances being put on by the comedy troupes, a capella groups, dance companies, or you can attend an open mic night which always showcase some excellent talent considering it's a performing arts school. There will also be plays happening periodically that you can attend. If you're into it, you can go out with friends on the weekends to a party, whether it be an Emerson one or not. There are plenty of colleges surrounding Emerson, so you always have the option of venturing out. Also, IT'S BOSTON. GO DO SOMETHING IN THE CITY.

You're in Boston! Go explore the city! The Boston Common is literally right across the street, the aquarium is about a mile away, as are many shopping centers. Or just get involved in the countless amount of organizations Emerson has to offer!

There's so much to do in and around Emerson for fun - it's in the middle of Boston. Emerson shows movies for free for students, and there's a giant cinema nearby. The Commons is right across the street, and the beautiful Public Gardens right next to that. There are lots of shops nearby on Newbury St. And if you're looking for fun stuff to do AT Emerson, there are loads of fun clubs to join.

I mean the campus is right in the middle of downtown Boston and the Theater District. The Boston COmmon and the Public Gardens are right across the street from the buildings. The Paramount screens free movies everyday for students and the AMC Lowes is across the street. You can walk to the Esplanade and play on the playground or walk by the Charles River. Go to the harbor or the Aquarium and see the ocean life. Go shopping on Newberry Street or Faneuil Hall or if you're feeling adventurous go to Cambridge and go to the Garment District. There's so much to do, you just have to take your pick.
