Am learning a lot
There are more than 100 graduate programs and with an average class size of 25 (many of my classes are smaller) you are able to have a lot of interaction with the professors.
Am enjoying being here
There are so many activities, sports, and ways to get involved. Living in the dorm provides a sense of community and there are always things going on. People are friendly and it is an easy adjustment from high school to college.
Bang for the buck
Coming from Seattle, the tuition at the other schools I considered was the same or more than the tuition plus room and board at Evangel. It is about 20,000 a year for tuition, room and board. Which makes it one of the most affordable private colleges. In addition, Evangel has many scholarships that students can apply for and a helpful financial aid team that will quickly answer any questions.
Tips for prospective students
Come visit! Evangel host EU 24 in the spring and bed and breakfast opportunities year around. Find information at www.evangel.edu

Study for the SAT/ACT! The better you do, the more scholarship money you will be elligable for.
Great for these types of students
-If you want a smaller environment where you get to know many people on campus
-If you are a Christian interested in developing a deeper relationship with God
-If you are interested in small class sizes and professors who know you by name and are available to help you.
-If you want to be involved on campus, there are many opportunities and it is easy to join.

Evangel professors are wonderful. They are willing to work with you and put in extra time to help you.
Am enjoying being here
Life on campus is lots of fun! There is a lot to do in Springfield, and the people are great.
Bang for the buck
College is always expensive, but Evangel is well worth the money. The atmosphere here is fantastic. It's worth the extra cost.
Tips for prospective students
When you're a freshman, five right in! Don't hesitate to be involved. Getting connected right away makes for a very smooth transition.
Great for these types of students
Evangel is great for everyone! I am a music student, and the music here is wonderful. But, Evangel offers many fields of study, and is simply a great place to be.

The professors at EU are incredible! They really have a grasp on what they're teaching. There's passion and if one is a dedicated learner, then he/she will fit right in. Actually...because there is such a great push towards learning, sometimes it's hard to take it all in.
Am enjoying being here
The campus is small, but the friend net is wide. There's plenty of small things to do for entertainment. It's an absolutely wonderful place just to chill.
Bang for the buck
Big bang... big buck. I suppose that both are quite equivalent. If you are willing to spend the buck, you will most definitely receive a bang.
Tips for prospective students
Keep up all work. Really try challenging yourself. If you don't do it now, you're not going to be prepared when you go to EU. The professors really enjoy stretching the student population in a variety of ways so - BE PREPARED!
Great for these types of students
Anyone who is a dedicated learner, loves small town gatherings, and has a heart for missions would no doubt enjoy going here.

Am learning a lot
I came to Evangel because of the excellent academic programs and they have not been a disappointment. My teachers are very knowledgeable and really want to help me learn what I will need in the future
Am enjoying being here
The dorm life is awesome! I was able to make friends and get connected easily. It has been a tremendous blessing for me.
Bang for the buck
While tuition is over 20000, Evangel offers numerous scholarships and grants that really help with finances.
Tips for prospective students
Get involved! There are lots of opportunities for service and for almost any activity you can think of.
Great for these types of students
Any student who really wants to get a good education. It would not be good for someone who just wants to goof off in college. If you are looking for a party college this is not for you. But if you are looking for a great education and a chance to further your walk with God this is it!

Evangel has over 100 fantastic degree programs, and anything that you take is definitely relevant to your life. When I first began at EU, I was frustrated at the fact that I had to take so many general education classes (Bible classes especially), but now I am so glad I had to take them! I've learned so much, and I can say that I truly have a well-rounded education. The classes specific to my major are also up-to-date and extremely informative, and I feel well prepared for any future career in my field. The professors are also spectacular and are always willing to help if you have a question or even if you just want to chat or need some prayer.
Am enjoying being here
I definitely love EU. I have made so many great friends, and they are all so spiritually mature and such great people at heart that I have no problem going to any of them. There are also tons of activities to participate in and different groups to join, so I'm never bored! I'm also loving Springfield right now. So many cute shops and places to go in and around downtown, and who can beat the Palace? (Movies for 3 bucks? Awesome!)
Bang for the buck
I know I flinched when I saw the $20,000+ price tag, but it's totally worth it. I don't regret paying a cent of it, and from the state of the grounds and everything that is offered to students to the quality of education that we receive, I wouldn't think of going anywhere else.
Tips for prospective students
-Buy your textbooks online.
-Be prepared for temperamental weather.
-Get involved right away!
-Don't skip chapel.
Great for these types of students
If you're looking for a college that will bring you closer to God, where everyone is so deeply in love with Jesus that you can feel it when you walk across campus, or if you're just looking for a place to make some lifelong friends and take some extremely worthwhile classes, EU is for you. :)

if your looking for a great christian school, evangel university is the place for you. evangel university is not huge in size, so you get to meet and know everybody; you feel like your home. evangel is also a school that caters well to both your spiritual and academic life. so if your looking for a place to go that will give you both, evangel is the place for you.
Academic Rigor
for a christian school, evangel has one of the best academics it can offer you. because evangel is small in size, the classes are much smaller. so you can definitely expect a one to one help with your professor. your learning environment at evangel is much friendlier and your professors and peers are always there to help you.
Dorm Life
dorm life at evangel is a fun place to be. it is also the social hub of campus life. evangel has three all female dorms, two all male dorms, and one co-ed dorm. despite only having one co-ed dorm, evangel's dorm life is never boring.
Food and Dining
food at evangel is okay. it is not the best food on campus but it is livable!

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
at evangel, we always have something called harvest fest and spring fling. harvest fest is where the males asks the females to the event and spring fling is where the girls asks the boys to the event. both events are based on a theme selected by the student activities board and you come dressed according to the theme. there is always fun entertainment, games, and contests!
Clubs and Activities
at evangel all kinds of campus clubs and activities are available. the most popular would be intramurals. the most popular of the intramural sports would be flag football and basketball. one campus clubs and activities are p.r.i.d.e for african american students that attend evangel. there is always something called fashion fever that always takes place at evangel in the spring. it is for the ladies of evangel to come out and dress up, see a fashion show from ladies among the evangel community, and win amazing prizes; ranging from make up, haircuts, and etc.

evangel is an uplifting community that fosters growth and education. not only are students able to build strong relationships with classmates, but smaller class sizes give professor more opportunity to invest in their students. it is clear through the actions of many of the leaders at evangel that the student body is truly cared for.
Tips for prospective students
students need to balance their time between academia and social outlets. evangel provides an atmosphere ideal for building relationship while encouraging studies.
Academic Rigor
professors encourage students to do their best. there are many opportunities for students to receive the help they need through tutoring of academic advise.
Dorm Life
residential directors and assistants are available for students whenever a need arises. many dorm activities occur so that students have the opportunities to get to know one another. students complete a personality survey before moving on campus so that they are placed with similar roommates. the only downfall is that students are unable to live off campus until the age of 22 which can be costly at times.
Food and Dining
there are two locations to eat at evangel. there is a cafeteria and a cafe style dinning room called the joust. the food would not compare to mom's home cookin', but there is a variety of options at evangel.

Am learning a lot
I think the learning environment at Evangel University is great. Small class sizes increase the personal attention each student receives. Professors know students by name and are very good to help them outside of class. Each professor enjoys what they do, making learning a lot of fun.
Am enjoying being here
I really enjoy Evangel, but it's kind of up to you to dictate whether or not you'll enjoy the school you're at. I didn't really get involved much my first year at Evangel, which is why I only rated this section 4 stars. However, once I realized all the opportunities and organizations to become a part of, I really felt a sense of purpose and excitement in what I was doing. I am very excited to see what opportunities avail themselves to me this next year!
Bang for the buck
Evangel University is a private, Christian college. Since they are a private school, it will obviously be somewhat expensive. However, Evangel offers great financial aid packages that are competitive with most other schools. The financial aid office works with students to give them the best package possible with combinations of grants, scholarships, and loans.
Tips for prospective students
I wouldn't hesitate to take full advantage of all that Evangel has to offer. Involving yourself will help make friends and help you find purpose during your college years. Because Evangel is a liberal arts college, there are many different programs to pursue. Choose a program you like and will enjoy. That way, your interest will keep you doing well. Lastly, on a more personal note, learn how to manage your time and to say no to going out when you need to study. I kind of made that mistake, and saw both my grades and sleep suffer haha.
Great for these types of students
Evangel is a great school for all kinds of students. Motivated, passionate, and enthusiastic students who manifest intellectual vitality will thrive at a school like Evangel.

Evangel University is a great college to attend not only for educational purposes, but for a family like environment. It is a great place to maintain and gain a greater understanding of one's spirituality and relationship with God. You will definitely feel at home here.
Tips for prospective students
Have an understanding of what you want to major in and the amount of dedication required.
Academic Rigor
Academic rigor depends on what one's major is. As I advance into my years at Evangel I do notice more and more students buckling down and studying.
Dorm Life
The dorm life at Evangel is what keeps me going half of the time. I love when I come back from my classes and have all of my friends around. It really is one big family. Each floor within the dorms has their own events and outings, which is always fun to plan and look forward to.
Food and Dining
The food and dining really depends on what kind of food you like. They do offer all types of food and if you do not like what is prepared you can always go to the salad and deli bar. I personally prepare my own meals within the dorms, which we are allowed to have a crock pot along with other listed items on the college's website.
What to do for fun
The Activities Board is always planning something on campus, which I always look forward to. They host events such as Movie on the Lawn, and DVD Bingo. Also, there are the social events of each semester, which are Harvest Fest and Spring Fling. The student body classes also get together for Freshmen/Sophomore and Junior/Senior banquets.
Bang for the buck
I personally think I am getting the most of my money because I make the most of everything. I put in every effort possible toward my major as I do toward everything else within campus life.
Clubs and Activities
There is always something to get involved in on campus, such as a church impact team and intramural sports. Also, many departments offer mission trips throughout the school year and summer time.
Greek Life
There is not necessarily sororities or fraternities at Evangel, however each floor within the dorms in like a sorority or fraternity. Each floor hosts events and goes on outings. They also are involved in community service and other volunteer opportunities.
Campus Safety
I feel safe living on campus with the security we have. I always see them walking around and driving around at night making sure everything is safe and secure.

Evangel University is a Liberal Arts university with a Christian environment. Christians can come to EU for any degree and avoid the monotonous temptations of a secular university. Although EU is a Liberal Arts university with vocational ministry minded people, one can still receive Pastoral Ministry and Missionary degrees.
Tips for prospective students
Come in with an understanding that there are certain guidelines you have to live by when coming to Evangel University. Although there are certain guidelines, they are really not that bad. If you are a Christian, then it should not be a big deal. They are set to keep us accountable. Also, be prepared to be challenged to think. Not only is this an academic setting where you will learn, but you will be challenged to process what you have always been taught to determine what you hold as truth based on your own understanding.
Academic Rigor
Academia here at EU is average, at least from what I gathered. I mean I have not studied anywhere else. It just depends on how much a person likes what they are studying. If they don't like it and don't pay attention then they are likely to not do so well. If they like the area of study, then they will likely spend more time and effort into it. I feel like it is like that with anything and anywhere one goes.
Dorm Life
Dorm life is awesome! All the dorms will have been renovated by the fall of 2013. They are nice with the option of having your own room for a fee of course. They are suite styles with one bath. So, two bedrooms with a bath and shower in between that they share. There is no kitchen area, but most people eat in the Cafeteria. It's a great place to build relationships and meet new life long relationships.
Food and Dining
The food is great. We actually just got a new director of the food and it has made a big improvement. There is an area for quick lunches and stuff to go, and a all you can eat cafeteria.
What to do for fun
There are pool tables, ping pong tables, disc golf, basketball court, racquetball, tennis near by, TVs, and our Student Activities always has some fun activity planned for students such as DVD bingo.
Bang for the buck
It is a private university so it is a little more expensive than state schools; however, this would mean the cost is the same for everyone, even out of state students.
Great for these types of students
Students who are Christians and want to live in a Christian environment. There are required Bible classes for everyone.
Clubs and Activities
There are around 60 different clubs and organizations for everyone. All kinds of academic clubs to environmental to humanitarian.
Campus Safety
There are security officers on campus 24/7 They are armed.
