The food services is one of the grey areas at Fisk University.A meal plan is suggested when you pay for your tuition and room and board fees. The meal plan allows you to eat in the cafeteria. However, the food served is below par and most students take to feeding themselves

We have options. If you don't want those, there's a Church's Chicken, Captain D's, and Knockout Wings down the street (in walking distance) and MANY delivery places.

The cafeteria offers a decent variety of options. Ranging from pasta to chicken to fish, a good mix of entrees alternates monthly. Pizza is freshly made at lunch and dinner. A vegetarian option is offered at every meal. Fried Chicken Wednesday is always popular. Other favorites are the pancake bar, salad bar, and baked potato bar. If you get tired of the cafe food, there is always the sub shop. It specializes in classic fast food such as burgers and fries. It does offer turkey burgers, chicken sandwiches, and veggie burgers also.

Fisk has all Divine Nine (historically black sororities/fraternities). The chapters are strong and focus heavily on community service and the betterment of campus life. There is also Phi Mu Alpha (singing fraternity) and Alpha Phi Omega (co-ed service based organization).

As of next year 2014-2015, two more organizations will be chartered on campus - Sigma Alpha Iota a music fraternity strictly for women and Delta Psi Epsilon a Christian Sorority.
