anyone who needs to save some money for the bigger school, or who does not know what they want to become.

    Tips for prospective students

Buy your books online at cheaper rates and sell them back to the bookstore. a person can actually make money from the deal.

    Bang for the buck

It's a low cost way to get ur associate's degree or even your basics done.

    Am enjoying being here

It's similar to High School, except the students really want to learn and the teachers really want to teach the students.

    Am learning a lot

One can learn fast and a lot because of the small class sizes and great teachers.

Great for these types of students

If you want to transfer to a university after you get your associates degree, this is a great school for you. They have a Guaranteed Transfer Program so that instead of a university picking and choosing which of your credit hours are valid they come as a package.

    Tips for prospective students

Definitely go to the Get Started Session as soon as possible. It'll probably answer all the questions you have.

    Bang for the buck

FRCC (Larimer Campus) shares many teachers with CSU, so you know it's a quality education for less.

    Will enjoy being here

I'm excited to meet new people, but I prefer the campus atmosphere of CSU and I'm probably going to miss spending a lot of time with my baby.

    Will learn a lot

There are lots of options for classes that I think will be interesting. I asked my older brother about his favorite teachers and registered for their classes.

    What to do for fun

play volleyball on the grass and meet interesting people in the student center.

    Tips for prospective students

take advantage of tutoring. its a great resource. hang out in the student center and build a support group.

    In three sentences

front range is strong in the area of affordability and quality of certain programs. i have however been disappointed in some of the teachers. several of the teachers that i have had have seemed uninterested in their subject, or even undereducated.

    Campus Safety

I recently checked campus safety reports and there have been no incidents in the past four years. Security personnel are close by but unobtrusive. I have never seen any incidents where security has been needed and the campus always seems clean and orderly.

    Greek Life

I don't know of any fraternities or sororities on campus other than the Honor Society. There is not a real presence here although there are many in Fort Collins due to Colorado State University's presence.

    Clubs and Activities

There are numerous student clubs on campus; most of them are academic based clubs. If there is not a club that meets your needs, you can form your own club with the approval of the administration.

Great for these types of students

Anyone interested in a vocational/technical degree has a lot of options at Front Range. If you are a non-traditional student, returning to school after a break in your education, you can brush up on the fundamentals by taking remedial classes here. Anyone planning on earning a Bachelor's Degree will appreciate earning half their credits at less than half the cost of most traditional universities. It is also nice to have an Associate's Degree in hand while working on your Bachelor's Degree.

    Bang for the buck

As a junior college, classes are much more affordable than traditional four year colleges. With class sizes relatively small, it is also easier to interact with the instructors and have all your questions answered. The Guaranteed Transfer credits are great for those planning on continuing their education at a four year college.

    What to do for fun

There is almost always some type of activity on campus and Fort Collins is a great place for people interested in outdoor activities. With Colorado State University co-located in Fort Collins, there are many college oriented activities targeted for students in Fort Collins.

    Food and Dining

There is a campus grill in the Student Life building. I have not ever eaten there, but it has a good selection of menu options and it seems quite popular with a majority of the student body and faculty.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms at this campus.

    Academic Rigor

You can set your own pace here. You are free to take as many or as few classes as you wish; everything hinges upon how quickly you want to complete your degree. The classes are smaller than most universities so the instructors are able to give you more face-time. They are also available to meet with you during their office hours. I also find they are very flexible and willing to meet with you even outside of scheduled office hours.

    Tips for prospective students

Register for the class you want fairly early since the classes fill up very quickly. Be sure to talk with an advisor regularly as you want to ensure you are on track to attaining your degree within your expected time frame.

    In three sentences

I attend the Larimer Campus in Fort Collins. The campus is fairly well laid out, modern, and clean. Class sizes are fairly small with only 20-30 students per instructor.

Great for these types of students

anyone who is looking for a cheaper alternative to classes at a 4-yr school.

    Bang for the buck

it seems a bit expensive to me, especially when the administration have to be reminded multiple times to do their jobs. every time you need to talk to anyone in any of the offices they are work study students who all tell you something different about the same thing. also some classes/professors are just a waste as you don't learn anything that you should be learning.

    What to do for fun

    nothing really on campus.

    Food and Dining

boulder county campus has a small cafe with ready made sandwiches, snacks, and coffee. reasonably priced and the food is alright.

    Dorm Life

    no dorms.

    Academic Rigor

it really depends on the course and the teacher.

    Tips for prospective students

do your research on courses, costs, and teachers. asking advisors about your plan or what courses you should take is useless, they just say sure to anything you say. don't buy books at the bookstore unless you absolutely have to, they are always cheaper online.

    In three sentences

the boulder county campus in longmont is very small, not many areas to study. the small class sizes are nice as you get more help from professors. i have had excellent teachers and awful ones, and the advising staff are not helpful at all.

    What to do for fun

At the Westminster campus there are many different lounge areas placed throughout campus to relax in during off hours. There is also an art gallery/performance located on campus where readings/exhibitions are held throughout the year. Whether it is concerts, plays, or even movies.

    Food and Dining

Most people enjoy the Subway convieniently placed inside, if not they also have a cafeteria which cooks a variety of different foods. Bistro catering can also be provided.

    Dorm Life

Dorms are not available through this campus.

    Academic Rigor

For a Community College this school has many highly qualified professors, even online. Many of the professors have their doctorates degree and grand experiences to follow that. Classes rarely go over 25 people, at maximum 30 which always provides for more personalized time with teachers.

    Tips for prospective students

For any student, both new and old, one should always take advantage of the help available to them. There is a place to email adviser's about any questions at all, and they respond with exactly the right answers which are extremely helpful. They also respond within 2 days of the email. There are unlimited resources at Front Range, they should be taken advantage of.

    In three sentences

Front Range at Westminster obtains a friendly, helpful, and professional atmosphere at all times. The staff and professors are outstanding, they provide all the necessary tools for one to be successful. Here at this college the staff all look into each individual students progress to ensure the best experience.

    Am enjoying being here

I have enjoyed the ART instructors. I would have liked to have felt more of the MGD instructors embrace and nurture creativity in students.

    Am learning a lot

The ART instructors have all been excellent. I'm very dissapointed in the MGD department (multimedia graphic design), with a few exceptions. Overall I would like the MGD courses to have been geared more towards unique portfolio development with emphasis on unique.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for students that just need a couple classes here and there.

    Tips for prospective students

Do research on classes you need and all tuition expenses(including cof, fafsa, ect.) on your own. BEFORE talking to an advisor. The advisors didn't really seem to get the whole picturing, ended up taking one very expensive class that I didn't need to.

    Bang for the buck

Tuition is higher than Red Rocks. The school is way overwhelmed with students that you don't get the answers you need going into your start of the semester. Also the teachers would split up the time they were supposed to be with you to go and teach a higher class.

    Did enjoy being here

I enjoyed the roomy spaces they had for lounging and studying.

    Did learn a lot

Part of it was that the teachers did not have enough time. Such as my drafting course, it was 3 hours long; Supposed to be an hour of lecture and two hours of lab. Well the only problem was she would lecture for 45 mins, then go to her next class. So if you had any questions you better plan to be there 4-5 hours. I was very disappointed that my money wasn't going to the class time I had paid for.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

recently found out their is a lactation mediation room located near the commons, which i never heard of but i thought that was funny.

    What to do for fun

there are lots of clubs and even clubs you can create to make friends. also, there is a pool table and almost weekly activities that go on that are fun.

    Food and Dining

this campus's is conveniently close to several food and dining area's

    Dorm Life

i live in longmont and this campus is at a perfect location conveniently close.

    Academic Rigor

over all this campus is great but the nursing program i am currently in i feel needs a lot of help. it is very unorganized, misleading and disappointing at times because of the frequent changes in curriculum, unorganized schedules and teaching methods are constantly changing. now, in three years this program will become competitive and no longer have a wait list. what this mean is now students are having to wait three years before they can get into this now competitive program. very disappointing for me.

    In three sentences

i recently graduated with my associates of science and absolutely loved every single teacher and every class ive taken here. now i am currently in the lpn program as a full time student. although it is intense and very overwhelming the staff has been helpful in encouraging and pushing me to be the best student i can possibly be .

    Greek Life

no greek life to speak of.

    Clubs and Activities

Clubs are fair. Honestly, not the best selection.

Great for these types of students

Course selection is good for those with full-time, working jobs. Also a good place to start out at if transferring to a 4-yr. university.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

    none.

    Bang for the buck

average cost for the education. bt this is a highly subjective question. not all students stufy alike or put in the same amount of hours per week towards studies.

    What to do for fun

The library is surprisingly good. Plenty of open grass to lie down to study or day-dream the day away. Sometime vollyball nets are set up.

    Food and Dining

Don't expect much. Cafeteria is very limited and they close early.

    Dorm Life

    no dorms are available.

    Academic Rigor

I would say FRCC is average in tems of acedemic rigour. Lower classes can be a bit of a joke but higher coarses tnd to be good quality.

    Tips for prospective students

Acquaint yourself with the campus as much as one can first. Get first names of key people in integral depts. such as admissions, records, help desk etc. Find a decent, comfortable place that's easy to study in.

    In three sentences

FRCC is a decent enough community college with a good selection of courses. Teachers are highly hit/miss but faculty is very helpful and assisting. Student center and clubs/organizations are lacking but I imagine this facet probably ebbs/flows depending on the campus one attends.

    Campus Safety

There are some safety concerns at FR. There are minimal secretly camera throughout the school. Also only 4 security guards roam around and often aren't easily distinguished between students.

    Clubs and Activities

Tons of clubs and activities throughout the year. Some of then even go along with the holidays.

Great for these types of students

Great for students who want to get back into school in their adult years. Also for students who are unsure of the major they are seeking.

    Bang for the buck

Front Range is a great place to start your college education. While attending FRCC you save thousands of dollars on the same exact classes that can transfer to a four year university!

    What to do for fun

A lot of the main hall way is full of vendors selling homemade items. Which could make for a nice little shopping trip during down time in between classes.

    Food and Dining

There is a cafe in the school. Although I have yet to travel that way. Students that do go there enjoy the food

    Dorm Life

Front Range doesn't have dorms so there is no dorm life. I do however wish that they could help student find a cheap affordable place to live much like a dorm or apartments.

    Academic Rigor

I love that there is a low student to teacher ratio. It makes for the academic learning process to be more one on one with the students. Labeling tutoring might help this aspect a little.

    Tips for prospective students

Community College is the way to go. :) especially if your still undecided about what your major will untimely be. It offers a range of classes/ prerequisite classes that transfer which makes it much easier.

    In three sentences

FRCC is amazing. Starting in the Fall of 2011, I was able to gain the knowledge I needed to succeed in classes as well as other places. The faculty are amazing and are generally willing to work with students extra if needed!

    Dorm Life

    Academic Rigor

Good material. Harder than some universities as I have heard. FRCC has a writing lab and it is a good addition for students who need specific help in their grammar and essay structure skills.

    Tips for prospective students

Have fun with college and do not be afraid to succeed. Try your best, but take things simply. Balance your time.

    In three sentences

FRCC is a great place as there is a variety of people. One is sure to find there place among the students of different cultures and educational backgrounds, yet they all have a similar drive for success. Teachers are great and this provides a nice atmosphere.

Really chilled out campus. Everyone is very friendly and there has never (touch wood) been any trouble.

    Clubs and Activities

    Campus Safety

According to the most recent campus security report, there have been no crimes reported in the last two years. I've never personally witnessed a crime, or ever felt unsafe on the campus.

    Greek Life

FRCC doesn't have any fraternities or sororities, but it does have a chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

    Clubs and Activities

FRCC doesn't have as many clubs as larger universities have. A few of the most active clubs are the Student Government Associate, Active Minds (a psychology club), and the American Sign Language Club (which is very active and very large).

Great for these types of students

This college is great for any students who have learning disabilities or struggle with a specific aspect of learning. They have the dedicated disability services that all colleges and universities have, but it's on a more intimate level. There are also multiple resources that anyone struggling with academics are encouraged to use (such as the math lab, writing center, dedicated librarians, and professor's office hours).

    Bang for the buck

Colorado community colleges are a good deal cheaper than the universities. The education is better, especially for entry level classes, too. You get direct one-on-one contact with your professor, direct assistance any time you need it, and the chance to give personalized feedback (and know it's being heard). You get a ton of bang for your buck; it'd be pretty amazing if all colleges and universities were like this.

    What to do for fun

We have a very active student government association which puts on student life events regularly. They plan an event for every major holiday, and for things such as finals week. For finals week they offer free massages and breakfasts, which is always a great way to de-stress before the a big test.

    Food and Dining

The on-site cafeteria/bistro is a bit small, and the selection of food isn't always amazing. It serves the basics such as pizza, sandwiches, and wraps. What they do serve is very good, but a better selection would be nice.

    Dorm Life

Front Range Community College is a community college, and like the majority of community colleges, doesn't offer on campus housing.

    Academic Rigor

There are many levels of classes offered at FRCC, and the difficulty levels change depending on what class you're taking. If you're just looking for the basics, then it will be rather basic. But there's always options to find exciting and challenging classes. I've fallen in love with Philosophy and I delight in working my brain in Mathematics, both of which are academically challenging (but very rewarding).

    Tips for prospective students

Use the resources available to you. If you're having trouble in math, go to the math lab. If you're having trouble writing an essay, go to the writing assistance center. Don't know how to do proper research, or you're stuck on a hard topic? The librarians are amazing, and more than happy to help. If those resources aren't enough, most professors would love to help a struggling student. And as always, don't procrastinate!

    In three sentences

I love it here! The professors are fun and knowledgeable, and they're always willing to give you a little extra help during office hours. They really seem to be invested in my education, which makes me even more invested in my education.

    Bang for the buck

Absolutely. Paying half the price for the same education as a university. You also have smaller class sizes which makes it easier to connect with the professor.

    What to do for fun

Front Range has a variety of events they hold and advertise for. Since it is a community college and not a large university the focus is mostly on academics.

    Food and Dining

The only food and dining on campus is the cafe. It is not the best, but what college cafe has good food?

    Dorm Life

There is no dorm life at Front Range Community College.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are challenging. I have taken both online and campus classes. Neither is easier than the other. You are paying half of what you would at a university and getting the same education with teachers that care about you.

    Tips for prospective students

Meet with an adviser and set up a plan for what classes to take. Also, if you are going to need financial aid help get started on it early because financial aid is the toughest part of enrolling, for me at least.

I have never felt like I was not safe on campus, however if for some reason a student feels unsafe there are campus security officers that can escort students to their vehicles. Or the officers can escort you to wherever you are heading. Never dismiss a feeling of unsafety always take extra percautions!

    Clubs and Activities

There are mulitple clubs or organizations for students to get involved in, There are: Active Minds, Astonomy club, campus activities board, Cross impact campus ministries, bible club, DenVhere Magazine, Future Interpreters of Colorado and that is just to name a few. Joing clubs and organizations are great ways to strengthen organizational skills, leadership skills, and meeting new people is always a plus

    What to do for fun

There are many student organizations for students to get involved in and meet new peopl. The campus also offers events and activities for students to get involved in like the summer social. Students at FRCC also get dicounts on things like tickets to six flags and the Denver zoo. Front Range promotes students to get involved in activities to meet new people, gain leadership skills, and to enjoy many different life experiences

    Food and Dining

FRCC campus book store sells beverages and junk food, like chips and candy. There are also vending machines around campus and of course the cafeteria. The cafeteria has a variety of different foods and a delicious vanilla wafer pudding. However for those students who want to leave campus for a little break there are restaurants near by.

    Dorm Life

The campus is surrounded by homes, apartments, and town homes. However there are no dorms for students to live in like you would have at a university. However the apartments across the street from campus help make the community college experience a little more like a university college experience.

    Academic Rigor

Teachers are strict about completing assignments and turning them in on time. It is not appreciated for students to be late or skip class unless the teacher was told ahead of time. For hybrid courses students are expected to do online work on time, on their own time, and without the instuctor telling them to do so.

    Tips for prospective students

I recommend taking advantage of all the school has to offer. The library is large, it is peaceful, quite, and a great place to study. The school also has seating throughout the campus for students to sit, relax, and study. The computer labs are also a great part of the campus so take advantage of it all.

    In three sentences

FRCC has very polite teachers. The teachers are always willing to help and answer any questions at any time. Also the teachers never make the student feel unintelligent .

I had a retraining order against someone from my hometown, when he came to campus trying to find me they had someone stay outside my classroom as well as someone to detain him until the police arrived. Otherwise, there is little crime on campus and students feel safe leaving their back packs on the table while getting something to eat.

    Clubs and Activities
