Try to get involved with the TAP program if you are interested in transferring to a 4-year. Also try to get early classes because parking can be horrible at times.

Set goals for yourself and stick to them, I see a lot of students who go without any direction and they end up staying there for much longer than necessary. Make sure you do your own research, the counselors, although very kind and helpful, cater to many students and don't always know what solution is best for your situation. I would say know what you want to know before you go to your counseling appointments and ask questions.

Be prepared to meet with the counselor and discuss your academic plan. Your counselors are there to help you as much as possible, but you also need to prepare and help your counselor help you.

Schedule an appointment to see a counselor right away or it'll take weeks to see one and make sure to see one at least once per semester. They can help you keep on track, but don't rely on them completely: become very familiar with the graduation requirements for your situation. You are responsible for knowing what you need to get done and doing it.
