Categories Comments Tips for prospective students The most important tip that I have for prospective students is to stay on top of your workload and to not procrastinate because before you know it, it will all pile up on you. I would also recommend not cramming before quizzes and exams and not waiting until the night before an assignment is due to start it.
Am enjoying being here There are always events and activities taking place on campus. There are usually movies playing, plays, sporting events, volunteering activities, and other events. The classes are also exciting. The professors that I had this past semester were energetic, funny, and were fun to be around even while getting the work accomplished that they needed to. I don't think that there was a day when I didn't come out of one of my classes with a smile on my face. The staff, faculty, and students are friendly and great.
Am learning a lot The professors at Gannon are great. They will work with you and around your schedules to make sure that you are up to par and where you need to be. I find it great that there are certain classes that everyone has to take and they are often very interesting and more often than not, they are nothing like you would expect. I have learned so much just from being at Gannon for one semester. There are great services in the math, writing, and speech centers.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Health Care interested students!! This is the ideal college for you. There are also accelerated OT and OA programs that are very very good!
Tips for prospective students The campus of Gannon University is in the middle of the city of Erie. The campus is safe, and the university takes extra precautions for the students safety. Gannon is a great university with a diverse populationa and even more diverse oppertunities.
Bang for the buck There is alot fo financial aide availible here. Also, with the great programs, it is worht it.
Am enjoying being here There is always something to do. The Activity Programing Board always has fun movies, activities, and guest performances.
Am learning a lot There are great professors! Almost everyone is willing to go past office hours and even set up private sessions if your struggling. It's a great school with amazing, nationally-recognized health science programs!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students All majors, but all of the sciences especially.
Tips for prospective students GET INVOLVED!!! Keep in mind that you are going to college for academics, but if you sit in your room all day studying, you will be miserable at your college. Get to know people and make friends quickly. The more involved you are, the more people you will get to know. However, once again, academics come first, so make sure you don't over-commit yourself. Also, keep in mind that although the stereo-type of college is heavy drinking and partying, you can get through school without it. There are plenty of people who feel pressured to drink because everyone is doing it. There are plenty of people who don't drink in college. Just don't be pressured into it. If you do choose to drink, BE RESPONSIBLE. Don't drink as much as you can just to get drunk. You have too much to lose.
Bang for the buck No matter where you go, college will be expensive. Gannon is very good about giving as much financial aid as possible, but it's still a lot of money for school. Definitely worth the price though. Education is so important, you need to insure that you get a good one.
Am enjoying being here The more you get involved, the more you get to know people. Everyone here is like a second family. The students are extremely friendly, and you'll know someone where ever you go. Also, being in the middle of downtown Erie, there's a lot of stuff to do, whether it's riding the Erie buses to the mall (free with your Gannon Id!), going to the sports games downtown, seeing a show at the Erie Playhouse, or just hanging out on campus.
Am learning a lot GU has some amazing teachers. I am going into my senior year, and I can honestly say that I have yet to have a teacher that I hate and would never take again. They are all very knowledgeable and provide new challenges for you every single day of class.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Though a city school, Gannon Police in addition to campus call boxes have made the radius of Gannon University very safe. There is also guest services to walk students to various locations on campus late at night and the Gannon Police give every student their number to call in an emergency. On campus, you feel very safe.
Greek Life I was adamantly anti-sorority upon entering college, but after having met some of the sisters and gotten to know the community, I have found my niche. Greek life is the best thing that has happened to me and has opened a world of opportunities. I am proudly a sister of Phi Sigma Sigma, and I proudly adhere to our motto AIM HIGH!
Clubs and Activities Think of any pass time or activity and Gannon has a club for it. If it is missing from the campus has also been made very easy to create your own clubs!
Great for these types of students Greek life is blossoming on campus, we have 6 fraternities and 5 sororities. Gannon is committed to community service and has daily oppertunities if one is interested. Gannon is also a highly ranked health science school!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Gannon is in downtown Erie. It is a city school. Erie-ites is the name by those on campus for the locals. There is a McDonald's and Starbucks on campus that are frequented. There is also the pub/restaurant, Molly Brannigans. They have 35 cent wing night every Monday!
Bang for the buck Gannon at face value is relatively expensive. Financial aide is really good though, and once you get your award letter you can send a letter back with an argument to try and get more financial aide. I did this because I increase my SAT score the second time I took it and also increased my GPA my senior year. I ended up getting $1000 more per year!
What to do for fun -sporting events -Greek life -Activities Programming Board brings cheap or free entertainment -Cheap concert every other year (this year we got The Fray, Jacks Mannequin, and Andy Grammar) -numerous clubs for all interests the clubs run their own programs for the entire campus -Presque Isle -Downtown Erie -Mall close by -Free bus fair with student ID There is always something.
Food and Dining There are various locations on campus and in the Erie community for food. The university allows you to put money on to your ID that can be used on campus or at over 75 different off campus locations.
Dorm Life Dorms are nice sized and each floor has community bathrooms and a lounge. Freshmen year you are required to live in the dorms if not commuting. After that you can get into the apartments. Unlike most schools, Gannon has open availibility for their apartments so you will not be stuck in dorms after your freshman year.
Academic Rigor Gannon is academically challenging, but for a good reason. It is a highly regarded university in the work force and hold a high placement rate for its students.
Tips for prospective students -try as many activities as you can handle, while maintaining your GPA, its a great way to get to know people -make friends on your dorm floor -don't judge your roommate from the get go -don't believe sorority stereotypes -talk to your professors... they are here for a reason and that is to help us succeed in our professions
In three sentences It is a good student atmosphere. The professors are open and understanding and have a vast knowledge base. This is the best choice I could have made for my major, occupational therapy.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students The best students at Gannon are hard-working and determined. They want to be the best in their field and don't need to be told to study. Students who don't procrastinate and manage their time well will do very well here.
Tips for prospective students Talk to people. You never know who might become your friends and everyone has something to teach you, whether it's big or small. Have fun but be responsible because one night of fun is not worth throwing away years of hard work. Organization is extremely helpful so you don't forget meetings and deadlines. Also, take Prior for philosophy if you can!
Bang for the buck For the most part your money gets you a lot. The ITS department and Metz Dining Services are they only areas where I feel like I pay too much for what I get.
Am enjoying being here Everyone is very friendly and there is a welcoming atmosphere. However, if partying is not your thing, weekends can be very boring sometimes.
Am learning a lot I have learned so much in and out of the classroom. Professors go out of their way to make sure you are learning as much as you can about a particular subject and they keep their curriculum up-to-date. Volunteer activities, seminars, speakers, and programs offer a wide variety of leaning opportunities outside of classes.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Visit the Lake! Take a stroll around downtown or even possibly join Greek life.
Food and Dining Lots of options to dine with the school plan. There are also many places to eat around campus.
Dorm Life Dorms are comfortable sizes and are well controlled.
Academic Rigor Gannon keeps its students on task and help them along the way through after-hour study sessions.
Tips for prospective students It's a great school to attend if you're looking for a focused environment and a smaller class size.
In three sentences Gannon has provided all the necessary information to me about academics, scholarships available, and financial aid.

Categories Comments What to do for fun We are in the middle of the city so there is things to do like the movies, or we have sports teams like the otters, or the bayhawks. There is always something to do around and off campus.
Food and Dining The food and dining is good. The food is sometimes not the best but it is not that bad. Our meal plans are kinda messed up but other than that it is good.
Dorm Life The dorm life is good but it could be better. Freshmen live in dorms or we have one building of suites. Upperclassmen live in apartments provided by the University. The dorm life is overall really good.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor of Gannon depends on your major. Gannon has the easy majors and the hard majors. For the most part i think Gannon is a tough school since I am pursuing a medical major.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you are okay with the location. It is in Erie where there is a lot of homeless people and it is not the best city around. But study hard and keep focused.
In three sentences I really like Gannon university and i feel like I am getting a good education. But some professors could be swapped with better ones but every college has bad professors. Gannon's location is in the middle of the city so I kinda wish it was not located where it is at.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Gannon University is great for someone who is serious about their education but still wants to have a good time.
Tips for prospective students 1. During your freshman and sophomore years (unless you are a commuter) you have to stay in the on campus housing which is expensive (although still nice). My tip to you is to move off campus your junior year. There is a huge array of apartments within a few blocks of the campus and you can get them at a good cost and you can save some money. 2. Your freshmen year is going to be tough, you have to readjust yourself to a new environment, and there will be a ton of new people that you meet. My tip to you is to attend some of the social events and get to know as many people as you can.
Bang for the buck Gannon University isn't cheap but what you get out of the school is well worth the money you put into it. In addition to the great education you will receive here and the excellent professors who are employed here Gannon offers other advantages as well. There is a free Rec Center to all students. The Rec Center has a basketball court, 2 weight rooms, a yoga class, a swimming pool and so much more!! There is also multiple places to eat on and around the campus including a cafeteria, Doc's Landing (serves pretty much anything grilled), and Knight's Cove which has a Mexican style place and a sub/hoagie place.
Am enjoying being here As a junior here at Gannon University i have spent quite a bit of time here. The school offers a tremendous amount of extra-curricular activities such as sports, clubs, and other organizations offering a variety of events so there is always something here for everyone!
Am learning a lot Gannon University offers a very well-rounded education, not just in your field of study but in the arts, history, and other aspects as well. In addition to the huge variety of classes, the professors here are absolutely phenomenal! They are reliable and well-educated professors are ready to work with you if you have any sorts of problems or questions.

Bang for the buck gannon university has a lot to offer students. the greek life is engaging and welcoming and the amenities such as the recreation center are high class. you get what you pay for.
What to do for fun gannon university unique location enables students to enjoy the beaches along lake erie. a student can fish, attend water parks, attend movie theaters, utilize the recreation center offered at gannon, visit friends at neighboring schools such as penn state behrend, and indulge themselves in the amenities along peach street.

Tips for prospective students remain diligent, remain focused, stay on top of your studies, engage in the student body, and utilize all the resources bestowed upon to you by gannon university to ensure that you are receiving the best education possible.
In three sentences gannon university is a highly prestigious institution in which students receive the best education possible. with a small student to faculty ratio, students are able to build relationships with their professors, thereby ensuring top-notch education. thus, gannon university offers a broad array of extracurricular activities such as intramurals and fraternities, all while each student thrives in a city-like atmosphere.

Categories Comments Campus Safety there's an escort service and campus police are always patrolling the campus and are always a phone call away. the only problem is some areas on campus are dark and the area surrounding the campus is not the safest area of erie.
Clubs and Activities there are plenty of clubs and organizations to meet your needs.
Great for these types of students anyone!
Bang for the buck gannon offers great scholarship programs.
What to do for fun the campus community provides many things for fun, including activities sponsored by the activities programming board, or ncaa division ii athletic programs, as well as musical and theatrical productions. also, the greater erie area provides many cultural and recreational opportunities with art galleries, a large shopping mall, a beautiful state park nestled on a beach and the sights and sounds of the lake erie bay.
Food and Dining the food is great but the hours are not.
Dorm Life the dorms at gannon are decent. they're nothing too special but they get the job done at a reasonable price.
Academic Rigor there are some courses that are blow offs but there are definitely some that will really test your ability to process information and your willingness to study.
Tips for prospective students figure out financial aid early because it's very stressful.
In three sentences gannon university is a friendly and vibrant campus community located in an urban setting. the winters are a bit harsh but the summertime is absolutely beautiful. the erie and surrounding areas provide plenty of opportunities for whatever your interests may be.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Every where you go on campus you will see a police officer or police car patrolling the area. As well as there being Blue Call Boxes for emergencies spread on every block of campus. Safety is a number one priority on campus and they always keep us updated through email and text-message alert.
Greek Life If it's right for you, You'll know! There are wide variety of sororities and fraternities to choose from. There are no incidents of hazing and it's strictly forbidden here. They are the typical media displayed greek life either, they are friendly and all get along with each other as well as non-greeks. There are no cliques.
Clubs and Activities There are soo many to choose from and each one is unique. You'll have no problem finding the right club for you!
Great for these types of students Great for any type of Student!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Every semester the Sunday night before finals start on Monday there is what is known as the Mid-Knight Pancake Breakfast, (knight-because our mascot is the Gannon Golden Knights). It goes from 9pm-12am and the faculty and staff and all of your professors as well as the president serve you breakfast! Students look forward to it every semester, it makes finals a little less stressful. There is also Springtopia which takes place the week before finals where each day of the week has fun events to partake in.
What to do for fun There is so much to do for fun on campus as well as off campus. On campus the Activities Programming Board usually does different events every month and has something going on at least once a week if not more. Every month they show a movie that is popular and is just about to be released, so you get the pleasure of seeing it for free, before it's released on DVD. They bring in different comedians and celebrities to talk to you. We just had Matt Roloff from TLC's Little People Big World and that was a HUGE hit on campus. They also have craft nights and bingo nights, along with many other events. At the end of the year there is springtopia which is a week long of fun events scheduled all day each day to have last min fun before finals week starts. Every two years there is a big concert that is held featuring big name artists, such as Jason DeRulo, We The Kings, The Maine, Mayday Parade, The Fray, Andy Grammar, and Jacks Manequin. Off campus there is so much to do as well, there is events at the bayfront, 0.5 miles from campus in walking distance. There is Presque Isle State Park which is 5 miles from campus within running and biking distance. It has 11 beaches and fishing and plenty of other fun events. Downtown there are many bars and clubs to hit up if you are of age. There's also an ice skating rink as well as bowling alleys. Up the road a little ways is the Erie Zoo which is free on Sundays. And of course there is a large shopping mall, which is accessible by driving or taking the bus which is free with your student ID.
Food and Dining There are many options and places to eat on and off campus. On campus there is the Cafeteria which features a wide variety of food, such as a deli area, pizza area, cereal bar, salad bar, dessert bar, and a main course bar, and an exotic bar. The main course bar features something new for each meal everyday and the exotic bar features a food from a different culture or a feature item such as smoothie bar or crepe bar, etc... If you don't wish to eat in the Cafe, there is Knights Cove which is more of a made to order and go place, featuring a Deli Bar consisting of wraps, subs, sandwiches, paninis, etc.. and a Mexican Bar consisting of nachos, burritos, taco salads, tacos, quesadillas, etc... There is also Doc's Landing which is also a made to order and go place that features a Pizza Bar, Pre-made sandwhiches and salads, fruit, etc. And a grill that features restaurant menu style food. They are all very delicious places to eat. There are also little places that are in each academic building that have cafes with coffee and sandwhiches or pastries. Off campus there is your typical places, McDonalds, Subway, Arbys, Starbucks, as well as little eaterys and restaurants all within walking distance.
Dorm Life Gannon's dorms and apartments are all up to date and each one has it's uniqueness about it. They just built an brand new residence hall and it has a very modern feel to it with each floor being a different style and a fitness room on the second floor and convience store on the first floor. The Harborview House has 6floors and all have a balcony that overlooks Lake Erie and Presque Isle Bay. They are very clean and have all the ammenities you would need for a dorm life!
Academic Rigor The classes sizes are small-medium sized, rarely over 40 people in a class, so you get that one-on-one experience with the professors.
Tips for prospective students Bring all weather type of clothing, because the weather changes frequently here. Be open minded, and get involved in clubs and organizations, and if it's right for you, join a fraternity or sorority. Staying involved in an on campus club is a great way to meet new people and keep a social life while still succeeding academically. Don't be afraid to ask for help! The professors are always willing to help and if they can't help, there is the student success center with many people available to help and tutor you in every subject you can think of! Go to the sporting events, it's a great way to gain school spirit and pride and form traditions!
In three sentences Small enough, yet big enough where everywhere you go you always see someone you know, yet you always meet someone new. The friendliest staff and students willing to help you out with whatever your needs may be. In the heart of the City of Erie, Pa, with many things to do on and off campus in a safe and secure setting.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are GUEST employees at every residence hall. What they do, is you call Police Campus & Safety and they will walk you home from anywhere you need. Erie, like any city can give you the creeps late at night and everyone is afraid of the dark, so they've got people here to make sure you never walk home alone. GU Police Patrol all corners of campus 24/7 to make sure everything is Kosher. They're not there to rat you out if you made some hasty decisions, just there to make sure you're safe.
Greek Life Homecoming is one of the opportunities Greek life gets to shine and it's so much fun! I danced with Alpha Psi Omega this year in a tribute to broadway and we won in two different categories! Sororities and Fraternities alike dance and make a float for the parade. The fraternities here aren't your typical frats. I went to a Root Beer Float Keggerat the OGWC and got a free root beer float and some knowledge on alcohol safety. While these guys do know how to have fun they also have a lot of heart. This past semester APD lost a brother in a tragic accident, not only did the entire greek family feel this loss, but the whole university paid tribute to the student in different ways.
Clubs and Activities Something cool about our Clubs is that there is pretty much one for everyone. There's a hockey club, habitat for humanity, and if you don't find something that fits you, if you get together fourteen of your closest friends and sign a petition, SOLD will recognize your club as official. I'm personally a part of EDGE Magazine, WERG Radio, The Knight, Alpha Psi Omega, Habitat for Humanity, L.I.F.E, V.O.I.C.E, and Mixed Choir.
Great for these types of students Gannon's small class sizes and friendly faculty is great for students who like to shine. I came to Gannon soft-spoken and shy, and by the end of my first semester I was shocked by how much more I spoke in class discussions and how much I was enjoying them! It's being the big fish in a very competitive small pond. You're constantly surrounded by other very talented fish. My Contemporary Issues in Media and Theatre class consisted of people just like me, those people just happened to include starters for the basketball team. Physician Assistants, Psychology majors, and many upperclassmen. There's no time to be intimidated, and there really isn't any reason to be either. I can't speak enough for how friendly and welcoming the professors are, they make it easy for you to want to keep up with the pace of things and be in the front of the pack.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus For finals week there are several unusual traditions. This year at midnight before finals week Monday, I was served sausage and pancakes by the President of my University! There's an unofficial AJ's way Dance Party before the Friday of finals week. Every night of finals in the Nash library you can find cookies, pizza, and soda (Finals Fuel). Before Christmas break there's also a Light Up AJ's Way ceremony where staff decorates all of the trees for Christmas.
Bang for the buck The best thing about the college experience at Gannon the student success center. There is free tutoring and there are students and professors there everyday just waiting to proofread your paper or help you with some math problems or even listen to you give a speech. There are also exclusive labs for major students. I personally get to have my own Digital Audio Production studio as a Communications major and there's a secret code that only Comm Majors get, so you know it's quality stuff. There are plenty of other labs like this for other majors, but it's top-secret stuff.
What to do for fun Presque Isle is an obvious stop, but don't forget about the other beautiful views of the bay. Walk out of Wehrle, turn left, and walk down Sassafras (the first street in Erie) until you reach the bay. It's beautiful day or night. You can climb up the lighthouse and see miles and miles of Erie. I made Starbucks and different art galleries a daily habit. Wednesday is the free day for the Erie Art Museum. The Presque Isle Gallery (and Coffeehouse) is a fun place and it's right next to the infamous Sara's. If you're willing to go for a drive, the Gorge at Behrend is definitely something to be seen, but you can't go wrong with a visit to the Millcreek Mall.
Food and Dining The Metz food is really good. If you go to Doc's get a Reuben and there are new soups everyday. They also make it easy for you to stay healthy. The freshman meal plan only allows you to have three meals a day, and nothing is open after 8pm, so no late night snacking.
Dorm Life Nobody likes sharing a room, but the Wehrle and Finegan halls make it as nice as can be. You have just enough room for two people, ample sunshine let in through the tall windows, and fully functioning heating/cooling. The RAs I've met are always really cool. My RA was a nursing major from Napal and she always hung her artwork and photos on the walls in the hall and encouraged us to do the same. The RAs on my floor hosted different programs like FeNails where we all brought our own stuff and shared nail polish and techniques.
Academic Rigor The core academics are nothing to be afraid of, but they are nothing to be underestimated either. Critical Analysis and Composition, is a class you are required to take your freshman year, and it will test your skills thoroughly. However, the most difficult classes you will take are the ones in your major. Those are the professors that you will need to continue to impress for all of your four years at Gannon.
Tips for prospective students There are many opportunities to be in many different clubs and organizations, but make sure you don't overload your schedule. You need time for your classes as well as your activities as well as time for rest and relaxation.

Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and activities to join! For example, if your major is Sports and Exercise Science, there is a Sports and Exercise Science Club.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The school has their own police on duty all day. Being in the city means that there are always police around.
Clubs and Activities There are over 70 different clubs on campus
Great for these types of students Great for students who want to stand out get individual attention from their professors . Great for students who want to live a city.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is the Pancake breakfast with the president of the school on the 2nd night of finals and its free!!! There is a freshman mixer every spring.
Bang for the buck Gannon is expensive but the education and individualization you receive because of the small class sizes is worth it to me.
What to do for fun There are a lot of clubs to join along with fraternities and sororities. There is a theater near the campus and the beach is in walking distance.
Food and Dining There are lots of places to sit down with friends and enjoy all three meals in many different venues and the food is well prepared.
Dorm Life There are many locations around the campus, not too expensive and they do their best to pair you with a roommate that fits your life style.
Academic Rigor Teacher expectations are high and you are guaranteed to have assignments due for the next class.
Tips for prospective students Be disciplined. Know your stress points and avoid procrastination.
In three sentences Gannon University is in a great location. The university's staff are friendly and eager to help every student. Your adviser is always there for you and willing answer question and help make a schedule that fits your life style.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Gannon's campus is very safe, although it is in the center of downtown Erie the GU police are always around so if anything were to happen they would know immediately.
Greek Life About 17% of students at Gannon go greek. Every sorority and fraternity offers a different experience but they all contribute to great philanthropies and they do service work around the Erie area. Most greeks at Gannon will tell you that going greek was the greatest choice they have ever made, it gave them something to do during their free time. For some it ever stopped them from transferring to a different school. The friendships made through Greek organizations are the type of friends you have forever.
Clubs and Activities Gannon has many clubs and activities you can be a part of. There is at least one club for almost every major, honor societies and clubs such as sga and apb which plan activities for Gannon.
Great for these types of students Gannon is great for students who want to pursue a career in a health science and are willing to work hard.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Molly Branigans is an Irish pub right off campus it is a popular place for date, or birthday dinners.
Bang for the buck Gannon is very expensive but they do offer a lot of scholarships
What to do for fun APB puts on dollar movies and trips, you can go to the mall, or the beach, there are a lot of restaurants and bars around campus. There are parties on the weekends, and there is always someone in the dorms that you can hang out with.
Food and Dining The cafeteria has many options but they tend to be undesirable, however there are little places on campus that you can use your meal plan for, they have less options but the food tastes better.
Dorm Life The dorms are nice and you make friends with your neighbors quickly. The RAs are very strict about visitation hour and quiet hours though.
Academic Rigor The classes are tough enough to prepare you for the real world and your future careers but the professors and the university do everything they can to offer help to anyone who is struggling.
Tips for prospective students Use the student success center, they provide help with any classes you may be struggling with and join greek life it will give you something to do on the weekends.
In three sentences Gannon is a great university with difficult classes, experienced professors, and great people.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is a must since Gannon isn't blocked off by gates like some may be. There are call boxes located everywhere, and there is a program called G.U.E.S.T. where students can be escorted by another working student at night if they feel uncomfortable walking by themselves.
Clubs and Activities There is something for everyone who wants to get involved!
Great for these types of students Gannon is great for students who like being intermixed within the city, yet there is a small campus enivronment.
What to do for fun I like hanging out with my friends, going to the mall or the movies, or even for a walk on Lake Erie or Bayfront. There are a lot of really good restaurants within a block. Starbucks is also a block away from campus, so that is convenient for a pick-me-up!
Food and Dining There are a few places to eat on campus, but coming from a picky eater, I'd rather eat in my room sometimes. There's always a sandwich and grill line everyday in the cafeteria that don't change, so that is a plus. Students always know those two places are there if there aren't any other options.
Dorm Life I live in a suite with three other girls, but I get my own room. Dorm life isn't bad if you live with the right people. Although housing costs are very expensive, but that comes with any college.
Academic Rigor My major is very difficult. I must maintain a 3.0 GPA all five years I attend college or else I get kicked out of my program. Studying is top priority!
Tips for prospective students Study hard, and don't get distracted just because you're not under the wings of your parents any longer.
In three sentences Very close-knit group of students. We study a lot because most classes are challenging and demanding. There are off-campus activities close by.

Food and Dining You will only like it if you like salad.
Dorm Life Suites in North Hall are incredible.
Academic Rigor Challenging but not impossible.

Dorm Life The dorms are great, I love everyone on my floor. The rooms are a little small, but what can you expect for freshman housing.
Academic Rigor There is a lot of work, but its completely manageable if you use your time well.
Tips for prospective students Get your application in early. Especially if you want to come here for the PA program. It fills up really quick!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Gannon police circle the campus and are always close by. There are also blue boxes around the campus for emergencies.
Greek Life Gannon is big on greek life. Even if you are not in Greek they are still welcoming and are not the stereotypical greeks. There is a fraternity or sorority that fits almost everyone.
Bang for the buck The programs that are the most expensive will also give you the best salary once you graduate, so the money used to go to school will be paid back once you graduate.
What to do for fun Gannon is right next to down town Erie, so there are little shops you can go to that are convenient. There are also restaurants down town that are not that expensive and taste pretty good too. The mall is only a 15 minute car ride away. The peer is about a mile away, so it is easy to walk to the light house and be by the water. There is a mini golf area near the peer as well. Presque Isle is also a car ride away, which is a fun place to go when it is warm. There are other things on or around the campus to do as well.
Food and Dining The cafeteria is fine, there are different options so they should have something that you would want to eat. Doc's and Knight's Cove are also places to eat that are a good change up during the week.
Dorm Life Finegan Hall is the best freshman dorm. It is not the nicest facility, but it is not gross. It is by far the most social dorm; if you are looking to meet new people definitely live at Finegan. It is not as expensive as North Hall because it is not as new, but no one spends much time in their room anyway. Go to the lobby, especially the first week because that is the best way to meet new people.
Academic Rigor Depending on your major the academic rigor will change. Gannon has many health science and engineering programs that are harder, but they are great programs and will get you the job you want.
Tips for prospective students Live in Finegan Hall your freshman year. Find an older student you can talk to about college, preferably someone with your major. If you go to class and pay attention you will do fine in the class, so don't freak out about college being way more difficult than high school.
In three sentences Expensive, but worth the money. Filled with friendly people, both students and professors. Just the right size.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Constant campus police. Several emergency boxes.
Greek Life Multiple frats/sororities. Active in campus life, a lot of fun.
Clubs and Activities Many many clubs/frats/sororities/intramurals/sports teams, etc.
Great for these types of students All types; Gannon has something for everyone and is very comfortable.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Nothing real unusual.
Bang for the buck Gannon is an expensive college but it's worth it. The faculty are much better than others I've heard/experienced.
What to do for fun Erie is a great city. Lots of entertainment (beach, mall, etc,). Located down town where something fun is always going on.
Food and Dining Great dining hall. Several locations for food all around campus.
Dorm Life I've heard good things and have spent time in the dorms. I live off campus, however.
Academic Rigor Work hard; it pays off. Gannon is a serious college.
Tips for prospective students Take a tour/college visit. Meet with faculty. Find people you may know there and talk to them. Have an open mind.
In three sentences Gannon is a medium-sized university. The campus is easy to navigate and is in a nice, city setting. The faculty are great; very helpful and understanding.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Students are very safe on the Gannon campus. There are very few incidences on the university grounds, although I so suggest always walking with a friend or two, especially at night. If walking off campus, you should always be with at least one other person.
Greek Life Gannon currently has five sororities and six fraternities with a seventh in the making. Greek life is fun, exciting and opens many doors for the students who chooses to go greek. I encourage every student to investigate greek life on campus, especially Phi Sigma Sigma. LITP!
Clubs and Activities There are activities for every type of person on campus. If you can't find something you are interested in, which I highly doubt, you can always start your own club with other interested students.
Great for these types of students Extroverted and fun-seeking students who aren't afraid to get involved in campus activities without getting distracted from their school work.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Advising Day Eve. This is the day before advising day where the students do not have classes. The students will celebrate their free day off the night before.
Bang for the buck Gannon is a private school so the tuition is high and there are less scholarships to offer. Fortunately, students attending Gannon can be assured they are getting a quality education and, upon graduation, are prepared to take the next step out of the university and into the real world.
What to do for fun Gannon's Student Night Club and Activities Programming Board works hard to ensure the students are well entertained on and off campus at a low budget. From movies, cookouts, comedy acts, poetry readings, and Rec Center activities, there is at least one social activity going on everyday, a lot of times even more than one.
Food and Dining Gannon has three main eating places. The Cafe, which features a buffet with home cooked meals and a salad bar at all meal times, Docs Landing, which features mexican style and sub mto meals, and Knights Cove, which has pre-made sandwiches, pizza, and a mto grill. There are also several other smaller eating places on campus that serve similar items. There are many choices and styles of food so every student is bound to find something they like.
Dorm Life Gannon has two dorm style and one apartment style living areas to freshmen. The dorms are nice because of the inclusiveness and exposure to other students. Each room is equipped with a micro fridge extra-long mattress, desk and cabinet. Any first year student will be grateful for the carpeted floors and furnace.
Academic Rigor Gannon has liberal arts requirements that students must complete in order to graduate. From experience, these classes can be very difficult or very easy. The core classes, especially at the 200 level and higher, will almost always be more rigorous and on topic.
Tips for prospective students The university has a wide variety of quality programs and majors. Gannon focuses on their health science programs the most and has an amazing faculty aimed toward helping their students get real world experience. If you are going for Pre Med, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Physicians Assistant, Gannon is the university for you.
In three sentences Gannon possess a thriving student community located straight in the heart of Erie, Pennsylvania. With many different academic, athletic, service, and social organizations, it is impossible to run out of activities to keep you busy. After personally participating in each of those categories, I can confidentially say that Gannon was the right choice for me, and that I received a high quality education that will help me to find success in the future.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you're a social person or not so social, you'll get along with everyone on campus.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have this thing on campus called The Knights Cove and it is a hang out for students when they want to take a break from classes and/or studying. They sell food and have TVs.
Tips for prospective students When coming from far away, students tend to get home sick. But when you make new friends, you'll be just fine!
In three sentences Gannon University is a friendly campus. The staff works with you on your own terms and when you have struggles with ANYTHING, someone will help you.

Dorm Life The dorm life is great. You get to meet new people and it helps you connect with people and not have to worry about going to every event to meet people with the same interests.
Academic Rigor I feel that Gannon is very competitive when it comes to their academics such as making the dean's list and competing with others for higher grades.
