Around Town

The people here are wonderful, so just a enjoying an evening in can create some wonderful memories. There are also events constantly going on within campus, as well as multiple places to hang out and have a good time.

Hang out with my friends and intramurals.

Sing, play sports, go to Portland, go out to eat, get coffee, go driving.

Honestly, there's a lot you can do at George Fox. There are intramural sports where you play just for fun, there's coffee shops and boutiques, the ocean is only a couple hours away, the mountains are only an hour or two away if you want to ski or snowboard, and Portland is only 30-45 minutes from Newberg. There are malls nearby as well as hiking trails all over the place. Each dorm also does activities with each other. There really isn't a dull moment at George Fox.

There are tons of things you can do for fun around here! You can do intramural sports, swim, rock climb, go to the beach, join one of the many clubs, go to the drive-in movies, take part in campus activities, go shopping, road trip to Portland, or just adventure! The campus normally has at least two things planned for each week, so there are plenty of opportunities to take part in something exciting!

I feel like there is always something to do. Whether it be attend a Women's Basketball Game (which our team is so good) or throwing yourself down the slip n slide that the activities committee sets up in the middle of campus, there is always something fun to do.

Frisbee on the quad is always great, there's always someone watching a movie. Portland is pretty close by too, so that opens up a lot of options.

Newberg is a beautiful town. There is a river that runs through town. It is just south of Portland, which has much to offer. The town offers many art galleries and coffee shops.

Tons to do in the Portland area!!

Try to get off campus. A lot of students are local so they go home on weekends and make Saturday and Sunday a little sleepy. There are some cute local shops close by, and then even more to do in Sherwood, which is a 5-10 minute drive away.
