Around Town

Downtown Milledgeville! All of the shops and restaurants are great, and at nights, the bar scene is excellent. Macon is only 45 minutes away, so you can always drive there to do some shopping.

Although Milledgeville is small, they are plenty of places to go. The greenway is a fun place to go when you want to be outside, walk around, chill, throw the frisbee, or sit in an eno. Downtown is also pretty fun.

Buffington's Bar and Grill hosts karaoke night every Tuesday. Fun, fun, fun. If you ever get bored in Milledgeville, that is your own fault. The Greenway is a great place to go for exploring the outdoors on your day off. Every Friday, Parkhurst hosts Magic: The Gathering night. Thursday nights are Improv nights at Blackbird Coffee Shop in the basement. Come support the Armed Farces, everybody!!!

I love Campus Outreach and Wesley. There's also this new ministry called Hydrolove that is totally student based, not really affiliated with the school at all. But Hydrolove is awesome.

A lot of people go to the mall with their friends, or go hang out at the park. The college offers a lot to do on the weekends and sometimes on week days!

Milledgeville is full of possibilities. Georgia College is consistently having events for students, and the city itself has so much to offer.

The downtown area is very fun, and there is a very strong nightlife. Students also host parties the majority of nights. During the day you can find nature outlets or hang out with your friends around campus.

Aside from Georgia College's great sports, intramural teams also play year round, with football, dodgeball, basketball, and many other sports. Georgia College also offers a large Greek life, as well as active on-campus ministries and organizations. Georgia College is practically in downtown Milledgeville, as well, where there are neat antique stores, cute boutiques, and delicious restaurants to eat in.

On the weekends, several people take the one hour trip up to the University of Georgia if they prefer the party scene. However, Milledgeville has a quaint downtown area with many shops, and there is a nice park nearby. Out of the immediate college area, there is also a small mall, a movie theatre, a roller rink, and many other commodities.
