Categories Comments Great for these types of students Any students that are willing to learn and start a great, new and fresh college experience! I fell in love with the school when I visited, and I've already made friends there, so fellow students don't worry about your social life going down the drain! :-)
Tips for prospective students Fill out the application and before you go to any Open House or Orientation, make a visit to the college and pick one faculty to get along with. You will be surprised at the advantages you will have when the faculty knows you by name!
Will enjoy being here The campus is fresh, and has the latest in technology. The faculty is VERY cooperative and are genuinely interested in the students.
Will learn a lot About 97% of the faculty have PhD's in their field. What other college has that? Plus Student Interaction is one of the fields in which faculty is graded at the end of each year, making student-to-teacher relationships more lasting and helpful for schoolwork.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students You should definitely go to the library! When you walk in you'll stand there for a good 3-5 seconds in amazement! I love the booths and the study rooms!
Tips for prospective students Make sure that you fill out your FAFSA early and keep up with the office! If they don't answer your calls, go in the office to meet with someone! Some people did not receive financial aid until late in the semester because they filled it out late or no one answered the phones. Also research your professors before you pick them. I go to Rate my professors before I enroll in a class or I Google their name. Hope this helps!!!
Bang for the buck I would definitely say that this is a great bang for the buck. You can't put a price on the amount of dedication teachers have and the amount of fun that you will have. This is a great community college!
Am enjoying being here I love the college. There are so many places to study and relax. They have just built a new library, which contains tons of Apple Computers that are always available to everyone. They have plenty of study rooms that you can use upon request or reservation. They also have DVD's that students can rent to watch in a study room or in their newly built dorms. To keep students interested, the campus hosts events like the Masquerade Ball, Karaoke, and many other fun activities. There are so many places to chill inside and out. The campus is a beautiful place!
Am learning a lot Many presume that Georgia Gwinnett College is an easy A school where one can just fly by and still maintain a 4.0. I'm sorry to sat this, but its not. Georgia Gwinnett College is a challenging school and, though it may not seem so as you attend, it prepares you for if you ever want to transfer or for when you get out in the real world. The teachers are always available for questions and concerns, which I love and they always try their best to break it down. With the exception of a few professors, they make sure that you fully understand all the material, which I have greatly appreciated. All you have to do is ask the question! College, in general, has opened me up to a whole new viewpoint and broadened my scope, but if you like small, intimate class rooms of 5 to 30 people, Georgia Gwinnett College is your perfect choice!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is great for any types of undergraduates students.
Bang for the buck Compared to many schools in Georgia, Georgia Gwinnett College definitely is not costly.
Am enjoying being here Georgia Gwinnett College truly is The Campus of Tomorrow. Everything here is new! The computers are all working great with fast internet. The campus is beautiful and looks very neat at all times even with the construction of other buildings. The student body as a whole is very friendly. There are many clubs to be active in for everyone that want to get involved.
Am learning a lot Most of the faculty (if not all) have their PhDs and a lot of experience. You definitely learn a lot. Even if you do not understand some of the material, the professors are always willing to help. The school even supplied the professors with cell-phones just so that the students can contact them easily. One of my professors actually encouraged text messaging questions to their cell phones. The classes at GGC are all challenging and professors definitely won't hand out grades. This shouldn't discourage anyone, though. GGC has a special tutoring center that always has professor there to help with any subject. They will also review essays and help revise them.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Anyone! Georgia Gwinnett College is great.
Tips for prospective students Meet with an admissions counselor. They are friendly, and willing to help you get through the admissions process with ease.
Bang for the buck This college is so cheap! I am getting an amazing education for just a few thousand dollars a semester. Where else can you get that?
Am enjoying being here I have made so many new friends, and on-campus activities add fun to college life.
Am learning a lot All of the professors are amazing and so intelligent! They have an open-door policy, so I can drop by and chat with any of the professors at any time. They are willing to help me when I have questions, and my success is their top priority.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students It is a fairly new school so in order to have fun you have to get involved, they are still working out any problems they have. They just got dorms so they are very strict with the rules in the dorms. The teachers and people are very friendly and the teachers always want to help.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is great for everyone students must understand this is a new school GGC grows day by day by adding new stuff. It takes times .
Tips for prospective students When you enter college come with a clear mind leave all your faults at home because it will interfere with your work.
Am enjoying being here I stayed on campus for my first semester it the dorms are very nice ,I had my own room my roomates were very nice and when it came to safety time GGC was on to of their game with the Rave Alert System
Am learning a lot The teachers at Georgia Gwinnett College were very loyal when it came to us and our needs. They even gave out their cell phone numbers so we could call or text them if we needed help with an assignment.

Categories Comments Tips for prospective students It isn't worth the hassle.
Bang for the buck They have high hopes in the programs they offer, but as I said before they are expanding and forget about most of their students.
Am enjoying being here I enjoyed being there when I was finally able to go to class.
Am learning a lot The one thing I am learning, is how many obstacles GGC makes you jump through to even register. It is a very, very difficult and long process, and the admissions staff is extremely unorganized and don't care about the students. They lost my high school transcripts and my immunizations records, which resulted in me being out of school for a whole semester at GGC. I would not wish this upon anyone.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Commuters. Students who want to live close to home and attend college or want to commute to school may want to consider GGC as an option. It is also good for those who are financially needy. For those who do not want to be in a lot of debt after college or those who do not have a lot of money for school, this school is very inexpensive and financial aid usually covers a lot of the cost.
Tips for prospective students Always double check to make sure all of your documents and financial aid is filled out before the deadline. Once you withdraw from a class, you have withdrawn and you cannot take it back. I made this mistake and I ended up sitting through a whole course and made an A, only to find out that I had withdrawn early on. Always keep in touch with your professors even if they are gone for some time.
Bang for the buck Once again, I think there are a lot better schools out there. This is a great college as far as location because I am a commuter. However, being at this school does not give me the fun college experience that my friends and family at other schools are enjoying.
Am enjoying being here I do not really like to go to school here. It is a new school, so there isn't really a whole lot to do except for listen to lectures for the most part. Even when there are some interesting events, most people don't take them seriously because it is such a new college. Most people on campus think it is boring. I get emails for some cool things going on, but they cost money. Also, the admissions office doesn't have it together. I've had the problem a lot where one person in the office will tell me one thing, and someone else will tell me another thing. I have been seriously frustrated with the admissions office.
Am learning a lot The academics here are great! The classes are challenging but not impossible. They definitely require some serious effort.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students If you are dedicated to your education but you also want to have fun and make friends then Georgia Gwinnett college is the school for you!!!!
Tips for prospective students Georgia Gwinnett College is a great place to get an education. If you are thinking about being a student at GGC then you should definitely talk to people who already go there and find out what they think of it and their opinions on professors. Go to an open house date to meet faculty and staff. If you are planning on living on campus you shouldn't pick the 12 bedroom because it is cheapest, you should consider the fact that you will want some peace and quiet to study. Most of all just do your research and be sure you are making the right choice, Georgia Gwinnett College is wonderful but college may not be for everyone.
Bang for the buck Georgia Gwinnett College is rather inexpensive compared to most other educational institutions. The tuition is reasonable, the food is worth paying for, and along with your fees come some great activities and opportunities.
Am enjoying being here Whether you live on campus or commute you will love the atmosphere of Georgia Gwinnett College. They offer many fun and exciting opportunities to students such as; field trips, movie nights, festivals, etc. At GGC you will always find something that suits you and you will make a lot of friends doing so. GGC provides a very enjoyable college experience.
Am learning a lot At Georgia Gwinnett College you will learn in class and out of class. The professors are wonderful and are all dedicated to their students. The Academic Achievement Center is open 7 days a week to help students with school work. At GGC you will get the education you are looking for.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for students who love smaller classrooms. Its on the cheaper side of schools.
Tips for prospective students Just embrace the campus and get involved in as much as you can!!
Bang for the buck Yeah, prices are going up, but it is the same for all the schools. So get hope, fill out your fafsa, and do scholarships! But everything you pay for is deff. worth it!!
Am enjoying being here I love it here! This will be my fourth year here! It just keeps improving and more buildings are being built. They care about the students. Everything about the school is for us! They encourage the students involvment in the school and how it can grow even more. What other school asks students what they can do next and then really listen and make the plans to do it!?
Am learning a lot Have the highest technology. The whole library has all mac desktops. They have the best staff you can ask for and the staff opens there schedule so you can always meet them for help or text or call them.

Tips for prospective students Tips for you prospective students, do your work. It's not high school anymore. Get good grades!
Bang for the buck GGC is really affordable. What other school in the state of georgia do you know that has cheap tuition? Everyone comes to GGC because of the cost. I heard it is one of the cheapest colleges in the state of Georgia.
Am enjoying being here I am enjoying being at GGC. The teachers really care about you and if you need help they are willing to help you. They even know your name, your not just a number to them.
Am learning a lot I am really learning a lot from Georgia Gwinnett College. The atmosphere is great and so are the teachers.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Absolutely stunning! They are amazing at what they do and will make sure you are 110% safe!
Greek Life It's not a MAJOR college yet, such as a Division I college, however, when GGC achieves it's goal of becoming one, I believe there will be an immense growth of the Greek life!
Clubs and Activities Haven't joined a club yet, but will soon when I'm not busy with work and all. Although I did have one experience with a club, and it was fun.
Great for these types of students Great for ANY type of student! Different ethnicities, groups, and diverse people.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The GGC Arch is a place for incoming Freshman to pass under to be apart of the school. The student center is a treat and is a must check out!
Bang for the buck In my opinion, definitely worth the bang for the buck! And the BANG is actually LESS for the buck, but you would have to check it out to see.
What to do for fun Join clubs, make new friends, and hang around the beautiful, smoke free campus!
Food and Dining Offers a good deal of places to chow down on for breakfast, lunch, or dinner depending on the time of you classes. The food is IDEAL!
Dorm Life Don't live in a dorm, so I can't really tell you from my experience, but from friends experience, it's EXCELLENT!
Academic Rigor Accounting/Finance.. Have not hit the core classes towards my major, but the interim classes are not too shabby. Definitely do-able.
Tips for prospective students Work hard, don't give up, DO YOUR WORK and YOU WILL SUCCEED!
In three sentences GGC is a very diverse college. GGC is out of the ordinary. GGC is absolutely SUPERB!

Categories Comments Campus Safety At Georgia Gwinnett College, we are highly committed to student safety which is why we have 24 hour campus security, Security that can escort anyone to their vehicles, and RAVE alert which sends everyone on campus a text message, a phone call, and an email whenever a threat is present. This is done because we value our students and are tight on secure measures because we always strive to be safe rather than sorry.
Greek Life There is currently no Greek Life yet, as there is a need for an entire department focused to this as we are growing, but no worries! It will come!
Clubs and Activities We have over 100 Registered Student Organizations (RSO). you can start your RSO with 5 signatures of those interested in the same idea and voila! You have your own organization and with time, you can receive funds to sponsor your events for the school! How awesome is that!
Great for these types of students GGC is great for any student that is looking to further their educational experience at an affordable price, because hey, the more affordable college is now, the likelihood you would like to continue your education I feel.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have this structure that is called the Arch of Knowledge but looks more like the elbow of Knowledge as I sometimes jokingly tell the perspective students I give tours to. What I love about this tradition, that was inspired by President Kaufman and as to why we have a ceremony concerning this structure every year for the new freshman. This tradition symbolizes that when you come to Georgia Gwinnett College, you enter as a learner. When you graduate, you sigh the Covenant and walk out under the Arch symbolizing your release as a leader. This tradition touches me every year during this ceremony because here at Georgia Gwinnett College, we want to inspire life-long learners, always,
Bang for the buck The school is a college and not a university because our president, President Kaufman, believes in being here for the students, in order to ensure our student success. So instead of money going towards research funding, he believes that it should go toward student success programs that ensure that every student accepted has the same tools as everyone else to achieve. He also believes that student focus is greater than a rese3arch focus. That is one of the many reasons why I love it here.
What to do for fun I attend campus- wide events, such as Miami nights, movie presentations, participate in student organizations or go with the Outdoor and Recreation staff on a Snowboarding/Ski trip which was awesome!!
Food and Dining Our chef's make delicious foods that cater to any diet. food ranges from savory brisket to cheesy risotto and more!
Dorm Life Our Suite-styled residence hall include furniture, awesome singular person rooms that come with lock and key and guess what? Flat screens come standard here at GGC!
Academic Rigor Your mentors, your advisor, and your professors all work collectively to ensure your academic success.
Tips for prospective students Teacher to student Ratio: 1:25 and sometimes as low as fifteen students in certain courses. Georgia Gwinnett College focuses heavily on student success and student involvement meaning your Professors care! Flexible class sizes, awesome professors, a great college experience.
In three sentences Georgia Gwinnett College, home of the Grizzlies, has been an amazing experience. I originally wanted to go to the big state institutions and universities, but coming here was my blessing in disguise, because with its small beginning came great opportunities. That is why everyday I am thankful my friend told me to put in my application in the middle of yearbook class in my senior year of high school

Categories Comments What to do for fun College activities, social functions, talent shows, sports functions, and field trips are always a lot fun. It gives you a break from studying and lets you take time to enjoy college and socialize. Sometimes just hanging out in the dorms or on the fields with your friends are all the fun you need.
Food and Dining Freshman fifteen is definitely something to watch out for in college. The food is awesome. In the dining hall there is a salad bar, sandwich bar, pizza bar, asian grill, burger grill, and the desert shop. The other food places on campus which you use your munch money for are Quiznos sub, Wow Wings, Market Place, and Starbucks. Although nothing is 24 hours, the school is in the perfect location with Wal-Mart down the street and other restaurants nearby.
Dorm Life Like every other college dorm, there all rules. Georgia Gwinnett College dorms only have simple rules, nothing out of the ordinary. Dorm life creates an easy way to make friends and socialize more. The dorms model apartments by providing you with a kitchen, a mutual living room, bathrooms for every two roommates, and single bedrooms for each student. Its a great setting that meets the needs of all the residence.
Academic Rigor So far I have not experienced difficulties. The only thing I can say is stay focused so you don't fall behind.
Tips for prospective students 1. Apply at least five months in advance to claim your spot when accepted. 2. Apply for financial aid as soon as you are accepted. 3. Get as much free money as you can so you wont be in debt when you get out of school.
In three sentences Want a college with small class sizes, amazing teachers, up to date technology, and a beautiful campus? Georgia Gwinnett College is the perfect place for you. This school is hands on and always willing to help you along the way to success.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are many shopping areas nearby, not to mention the variety of restaurants near the campus.
Food and Dining I enjoy the variety of food choices that they provide for the students.
Dorm Life I do not live on campus.
Academic Rigor One of the things I really like about this college is the teaching styles. In each of my courses, I feel that I am not only being challenged but also being given the necessary assistance needed to do well on the course.
Tips for prospective students Take courses that are required by your major. Make sure to maintain an A or B average in ALL of your courses in order to get a high grade point average.
In three sentences Georgia Gwinnett College is indeed an admirable institute with an excellent learning environment. My experience at Georgia Gwinnett has helped me to advance in many area of my educational studies. I intend to complete four years of undergraduate school at GGC with the hopes of attending Emory Medical School after receiving a bachelor's degree in biochemistry.

Categories Comments Campus Safety there are security just about everywhere on campus making sure things go smoothly. the only place not really well-maintained (but is probably better-maintained now) is the dorm building.
Great for these types of students the college is great for sociable students and students who enjoy technology; there are a large variety of tech courses offered.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the b building is also known as the spaceship building, in case someone tells you this.
What to do for fun for fun, you can go to the gym and play some pool, or go to the library and check out a couple of movies to watch in your spare time. also, there is always something going on on campus. just make sure to check your school email.
Food and Dining the meal plans are excellent. the food is constantly changing and the staff at the dining hall asks for input from the students, which is great.
Dorm Life i didn't really have a good experience with dorm life. it was constantly loud and the security at the dorm building was pretty much useless. i don't recommend living on campus if it is an option.
Academic Rigor some classes are difficult, but that is a given for college courses. not all of them are backbreaking, though, especially if you get a great professor.
Tips for prospective students stay focused on work. it can pile up if you're not careful. also, if you can, take professor cook for history. he is amazing.
In three sentences georgia gwinnett college is determined to create a close atmosphere between students and staff. they have smaller class sizes than many other colleges. the school is constantly changing and growing.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I have never felt in any danger on GGC's campus! The police are always browsing around the parking lots and around campus. One time, I needed a jump for my car battery. I called the Campus Safey office and within 5 minutes, a police officer was out to help me. He jumped my car and stayed to make sure that my car would start and not have any problems going down the road.
Greek Life There is no Greek life on campus YET! Elections for student body president just took place and one of the ideas is to get a Greek life system going. I feel like Greek life would be very good to have on campus because it could bring
Clubs and Activities There are more sports than clubs, which, as you may know, sports are not exactly everyone's cup of tea. However, the clubs that are at GGC are extremely well put together and extremely well functioning.
Great for these types of students GGC is great for students who did not want to go to an extremely large college, like the University of Georgia, for the students who wanted, or in my case needed, a more personal relationship with their teachers in order to grasp the material. It is also great for students who are trying to become more independent because GGC places a great deal of responsibility on the student.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The tradition March through the Arch comes to mind. All of the new students are required to march through GGC's on-campus Arch. It is a chance to meet the faculty and get an idea of who you will be taking classes for.
Bang for the buck GGC is very affordable compared to other schools. The cost per credit hour is $109.87 and there are payment plans to help students out with tuition. However, the faculty is not cheap quality. All of the faculty members are extremely kind and are also very willing to help students.
What to do for fun There are tons of fun things to do at GGC. There are numerous sports teams and clubs. The only sports team that we do not have is a football team, however, we are in the process of getting one of those. We have a numerous range of clubs including Student Government Association. There is also a game room on campus in the dorms.
Food and Dining I have a food allergy, so the food options are not always soy-free, which leaves me at a stopping place. That is the only thing about the food eateries and dining halls that I wish they would look at: helping people with food allergies also have as wide a variety as people without food allergies.
Dorm Life I do not live in the dorms. I commute back and forth from Monroe, GA. Although, from what I have seen, the dorms are very spacious and very nicely put-together!
Academic Rigor I always feel challenged. Yet, even though I feel challenged, I also feel like I can succeed with the amount of help that the faculty provides. There are some very awesome teachers that go above and beyond to make sure that you do well. The one thing that I have had problems with was the technology of the school. Seeing as it is a new school and just starting to develop, the technology has been lagging, but it does not hinder any other area whatsoever!
Tips for prospective students Please be patient with the Financial Aid/Student Accounts office. This, fortunately, is a growing school with growing credibility. However, with the growing students, there are not growing faculty positions. Also, get to know your teachers and mentor on a personal level. I promise, it will help when it comes to recommendations and extra help.
In three sentences Georgia Gwinnett College is a college I feel like I can thrive. The faculty is exceptionally welcoming and helpful. I would recommend this college to anyone that is not ready for the leap into a school with almost 50,000 students, yet, it does not feel small and you get the special help that you need.

Categories Comments Campus Safety GGC is a very security focused school, going so far as to have a tornado warning system in place that can be heard campus wide. There are police around campus almost all the time, and you have security posts in most every building. Security guards do random patrols and keep an eye out for potential issues, and they also have a 'rave' cellular/email alert system to warn students about campus related incidents.
Greek Life The Greek life is not really present for those of us commuting and taking classes. It is active within the dorms, and is rather friendly from the impression I've gotten around campus. I would definitely get involved if I lived on campus.
Clubs and Activities There are some clubs and groups around campus, but I haven't noticed a lot of activity on that level. The opportunity to join up with particular clubs is present and available if that is something you desire in a college campus. The school is smaller than other four year schools, so making friends is extremely possible if you like to hangout with people from your own concentration or just people who share the same interests.
Great for these types of students If you're a Business major, as I am, you will love the environment at GGC; but it offers several degree programs including Biology, Mathematics, Psychology, English, and many more! This campus will work for those taking night classes or those aiming to knock classes out early in the morning. If you like options, you will have several teachers to choose from (the roster is definitely growing) and small class sizes to help you focus.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus This is a pretty typical college environment. No waterfalls or gushing rivers, but plenty of open space and innovative architecture. I've enjoyed the study rooms in the library and the school offers many outings and activities through various organizations on campus.
Bang for the buck Relatively low tuition for a four year school, especially if you can get scholarships or loans. I won't lie, my tuition has gone up from GPC to GGC and I will need more help in order to continue to cover it. Be prepared to pay for your education, and get to know the people at financial aid because they are the ones that will tell you what steps there are to take and how to take them.
What to do for fun Huge fields are available for those into outdoor sports and recreation, as well as a campus gym that is pretty well stocked with workout equipment and available exercise classes. There are theaters and plenty of local as well as department stores near the campus, so don't feel claustrophobic! There's food, fun, and plenty of hangout spots all around campus; even the library is cool to chill out and study in!
Food and Dining Again, I go the cheaper route and don't pay for food on campus, but you will have to have a food plan if you are a freshman or sophomore. I don't like that, but it is something they require so be ready. There are a few places on campus to eat, and a plethora of other options right around campus too, so take advantage of the local restaurants if you hate school food.
Dorm Life I live off campus and commute to school, so I don't know what living in the dorms is like. I have seen them, and would say that they are well furnished and spacious. If you want to stay in the dorms, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Academic Rigor This is still a college, so don't come here and think I told you it was easy. I attended Georgia Perimeter College before this school, and let me tell you that GPC, a two year institution, looked almost laughable after the first month of classes had ended. This school knows its stuff and the teachers will demand you understand it as well, but there are fewer tests to worry about and excellent tutors as well as classmates to work with!
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to get in because registration is no joke and orientation is mandatory! Get to know your mentor and the people in the registration office as well as the rules for financial aid, and I give you full reign to be annoying here (I probably was). Talk to your teachers because classes are small and you should be taking advantage of that fact.
In three sentences This school touts itself as the campus of tomorrow, and I would agree with that from all that I have learned while enrolled this semester. The teachers try to do things differently, thinking outside the box while engaging the classroom at the same time. It's hard, but so is school. The teachers will help along with the people in admissions and registrations. Plus, they all really know their stuff!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for students who just want to get core classes done, then transfer.
Bang for the buck Compared to other colleges in Georgia, GGC is definitely a steal! With it's brand new campus and technology, plus free on campus tutoring, you're getting you money's worth.
Tips for prospective students Apply early! If accepted, attend the earliest Bear Essentials- you register for classes at that time. The later you attend Bear Essentials, the less options you'll have for courses.
In three sentences Despite what most think, Georgia Gwinnett isn't an easy A school. Professors are academically challenging, but considering that GGC offer's free tutoring, there isn't really an excuse not to make an A in a course.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I have only seen one or two arrests, but there are police almost everywhere you go. They are friendly police men too.
Clubs and Activities We have too many to list, but my favorites are ping pong, flag football, and rock climbing.
Great for these types of students It is great for students who love to be around others and socialize, as well as students who are a little low on cash.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We march through the arc at the beginning of the school year. It symbolizes learning and dedication to the school.
Bang for the buck There is much to love. Brand new computers, buildings, and staff make the college a great environment for learning. If you have the Hope the price per semester is usually under $1,600, so that's exciting. However, if you are like me and lost your Hope, then you might find the price a bit scary.
What to do for fun We play ping pong all day. You will never see ping pong taken so seriously.
Tips for prospective students Don't stay in the dorms. They are over priced.
In three sentences The school is fairly new and has all new technology. The library is covered with all windows and shines beautifully. The best part is that I live ten minutes away.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I always feel safe, even at night when I'm walking to my car. GGC has a fully staffed school police precinct on site. They are always here to lend a hand when you need them and respond quickly to any disturbances on campus.
Greek Life There is not yet a fraternity at GGC. It is a really new school, but is in hopes of having one in the future.
Clubs and Activities GGC has about 6 active clubs now, including a psychology club, which I think is the bomb. GGC is different in other colleges in that it encourages students to develop their own clubs.
Great for these types of students First year college students will benefit greatly from GGC. It is a great introduction to college life and what will be expected of you in your college years to come when you've declared your major and are in the thick of it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The library is phenomenal! It's very spacious and modern with a very knowledgeable staff. You can do research for your class or simply enjoy reading your favorite books there, in a peaceful, serene environment.
Bang for the buck The food plans are very affordable considering what you get. Also, the cost of tuition is very inexpensive, when you factor in free tutoring and teachers who really care about how you are doing..
What to do for fun There are many clubs to join if you are in to that sort of thing. Also, there are plenty of places to hang out with friends, like the coffee shop and outside sitting areas, as well as a well manicured lawn..
Food and Dining The food is awesome! There's something for everyone, including an onsite cafeteria, sandwich shop and coffee shop..
Dorm Life I do not reside at the dorms, i am a commuter
Academic Rigor The teachers are very helpful and really care about the students and how they are doing in their class.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of the free tutoring offered.
In three sentences Great first year college. I love the free tutoring. The diversity of students is nice also.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck The quality of the education for the price is, well, a steal.
What to do for fun GGC is a campus that, in my opinion, balances 21st century technology with nature admirably. The campus focuses much of its resources on science and information technology, and the buildings take their architectural cue from this attention. Fast and up-to-date computers are everywhere around the campus, so you will never find yourself lacking access to the internet. There are multiple cafes throughout the buildings, and of course, a library with private rooms you can reserve for yourself or friends to study or work together. Overall, GGC is a campus that makes it easy to congregate with your friends, whether you want to meet in a large open area under the shade, or a quiet room in the library.
Food and Dining This is the only part of GGC I am not particularly fond of. The eatery is fairly standard fare, with subs, wraps, pizza, and that sort of stuff. It was recently improved - vastly I should say - with the newly built buffet in GGC's student center. However, I still prefer to go eat at the multiple fast food places nearby.
Dorm Life I am not a resident at GGC, so I cannot speak to the dorm life. However, the dorms are a little less than a year old, so they are fresh and well built.
Academic Rigor As with all institutions, the rigor of the course is highly dependent upon the professor you choose. GGC gives their faculty great leeway when it comes to their classrooms, and many will have a personal style that inevitably influences their teaching. Overall, my abilities and critical thinking skills have been tested more than they have not.
Tips for prospective students Look to nurture a personal relationship with your instructors. Their expertise in their field is invaluable, and will go a long way in establishing a solid background in your major, and beyond.
In three sentences A very new school with a rapidly growing, diverse student body. An opposite of schools like UGA, GGC focuses on the 1-on-1 relationship between student and instructor. Some of the most highly trained faculty in the state of Georgia.

Food and Dining There is a good variety of different foods, although again, it is not worth it for those who live nearby who can go for a cheaper alternative.
Dorm Life Dorms are incredibly nice, clean, and spacy but too expensive for those who already live nearby.
Academic Rigor Although it is not as easy as everyone assumes, it is very possible to excel here.
Tips for prospective students Just keep up with your studies; maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and you won't have any problems

Dorm Life I do not live on campus but Ive been inside one of the dorms and they are very nice.

Tips for prospective students I would say start of at Georgia Gwinnett so you can get the feel of college but finish somewhere else.

Categories Comments Food and Dining All over campus one can find a place that has your dietary needs, whether that be a salad or a cookie GGC offers a wide variety of food options all over Georgia.
Dorm Life I cannot really say much on dorm life because I reside off campus.
Academic Rigor GGC offers courses that are challenging which is what every student should want in their course; to be pushed and to be forced to work hard and think. Every course has a tutor that corresponds with it in the Academic Enhancement Center. This makes even the challenging courses easier because you have someone who knows the subject and can help you in a one-on-one atmosphere outside of the classroom.
Tips for prospective students Anyone looking to for schools for their first term should choose Georgia Gwinnett College for its great location, great academic advancement, and because GGC wants every student to succeed. GGC also provides free top of the line tutoring every single day of the week from eight in the morning until ten at night giving every student a great way to better themselves through their studies.
In three sentences GGC is a great up-and-coming school that has a lot of focus on the advancement of not only the school but in a technological aspect as well. The school is situated in a perfect position for most students in the Georgia area. Also most teachers either have their doctorate in their field of study or are on their way to obtaining it, this gives the students attending the best education.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I always felt safe. the campus is fairly small so there is always someone helpful around.
Greek Life none
Clubs and Activities Although there were many activities, I live 20 minutes from campus, so joining anything was virtually impossible,
Great for these types of students People who like online classes People who are reterning to school People who must live off campus due to cost but live near campus.
Bang for the buck Great for in- state students. It only costs about $3000 a semester for everything.
What to do for fun It is fun to hang out in the student center, and the library is a great place for study groups.
Food and Dining There are plenty of food options on campus. The cafe in the library is convenient and delicious.
Dorm Life I did not live on campus, but the dorms are new and clean.
Academic Rigor The difficulty of the classes depends on which courses you take. It is great because it is easy to choose how difficult you want your semester to be.
Tips for prospective students If you don't live on campus it can be hard to get involved, so make time for friends :)
In three sentences GGC is a great college for students trying to save money on their education while still getting a great education. The campus is intimate enough to feel like an individual, yet large enough to attend the many events that they through for students. While GGC is great for a four year option, I feel like it is well suited for those who might not have otherwise been able to attend college.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus security is best known for writing tickets. If there is an emergency they may or may not respond.
Clubs and Activities There are lots of clubs. Something for everyone.
Great for these types of students Students who could not get admitted in other institutions. This school is great if you want to build your gpa up if you want to transfer.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus GGC likes to build, so if you show up one day and a section of the parking lot has been removed, do not be surprised.
Bang for the buck Overall, the price is not bad. However, they do not have any institutional funding so the only financial aid they have available is through the state and federal government.
What to do for fun They do have activities for undergrads but they generally cost money. There is not much to do in the way of fun.
Food and Dining The food is not worth what a student has to pay. Its okay but it is priced outrageously. Stay away from the WOW chicken place. You might find some unpleasant surprises.
Dorm Life The dorms are really nice, but they do not offer any family or married couple housing which is a real disadvantage. Especially since there are so many husbands and wife students with familys attending campus.
Academic Rigor The faculty are excellent. If a student applies themself, they will succeed. Most of the teachers will go out of their way to help students. The classes are small and personable.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking for an easy college to get into this is the school for you. They have plenty of freshmen and sophmore classes, but little to offer for their upperclassmen trying to graduate. Their articulation agreements with other schools are minimum at best. I suggest that if you begin there, transfer as soon as you can.
In three sentences GGC has excellent faculty and facilities. However the administration is generally clueless on how to run the college and is more interested in enrolling students then keeping the ones they have. The administration often makes errors regarding students financial aid packages, accounts, etc. and will not admit their errors and fix them.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus PD is awesome, unless they are giving you a ticket. These guys are lenient with most things but reckless driving is not tolerated.
Bang for the buck Freshman year there is a lack of classes, but after you get into the swing of things and scoop up the ones you need you will have more of a problem deciding between classes than if they have one or two you need.
What to do for fun There is not that much entertainment on campus, but less than a mile down the road there is a a movie theater and restaurants.
Food and Dining Perfect for college students, there is a wide variety available daily, and several Cafes and Diners on the Campus.
Dorm Life I live at home, and haven't really had extended conversation with anyone that lives in the dorms. So living on campus must not be too bad, otherwise I'm sure I would have heard someone complain.
Academic Rigor GGC(Georgia Gwinnett College) is relatively easy, but this also is due to the fact that it is a very new school, and most of the curriculum is still being developed.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to register ASAP, and seriously do not hesitate to ask for help from the professors. Most of them are more than reasonable with the services they provide outside the classroom.
In three sentences Georgia Gwinnett is a quickly growing student oriented campus. I have not had a single professor that has not gone out of their way to insure my collegiate success. Highly recommend especially if you are wanting a business degree, they have an excellent business program.

Bang for the buck Pretty good schooling for the money, almost every Professor has a PH.D
What to do for fun The gym is pretty close on campus, plenty of open green space to lay out and study, hang out with friends, always events going on! Plenty of chances to meet new people. Very comfy library to hang out and sit in the back near scenic windows, or hop on a computer to browse.
Food and Dining Pretty good food, but kind of a inconvenience when they stop cooking food in the middle of the afternoon when everyone is out of class.... food runs out quickly on those days.
Tips for prospective students Great school to go to if you plan to transfer. Better to ask about professors from students you know rather than reading things online, because they are sometimes exaggerated.

Great for these types of students Students that are not planning on leaving home, want to save money, or are just looking for a good start to college would enjoy the school.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Nothing out of the ordinary is there. There is an army/ROTC program so people in uniform roam about.
Bang for the buck The academics are good. Honestly, it is a proficient community college. I would recommend it to anyone.
What to do for fun I liked going to the gym that is right on the campus. It is an open campus, so having visitors that do not attend the school is nice.
Food and Dining There is a great dining hall with plenty of options. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served and the meal plans are helpful to ensuring that you get all of the nutrition you need.
Dorm Life From what I heard and saw it was pleasing. I did not live in the dorms, I was a commuter student. Many students I spoke with liked it.
Academic Rigor For me, it was not terribly difficult but still posed a challenge. Like with any work, it is a poor idea to procrastinate.
Tips for prospective students I would recommend making sure you get the text required for each course and be proactive in getting to know your teachers and paying attention in class. Ask questions and be honest about how you are doing in the class. The school wants you to succeed.
In three sentences It is a good beginner school for students that are looking to stay near home to save money. The teachers are driven and look to help you in very open ways. The rigor of the courses is not too difficult and does a great job of easing the passage from high school to college.

It looked nice from the outside, I think its buffet style. I did have the munch dollars which was prepaid, and could be used anywhere but the dining hall. There were other sandwich/coffee shops on campus. There was also a mini cafeteria with a pizzeria and sub shop to eat from. There were many great options to choose from like ice cream, wings, wraps, fresh fruit, salads, cereal, smoothies, etc.
Dorm Life I didn't stay on campus, but I never heard anything bad about it either.

The school also has great partnerships in the Gwinnett community. Unfortunately there aren't any classes offered online yet.

Categories Comments Greek Life There is no Greek life on campus, but students are trying to get it approved for the future.
Bang for the buck I think the money is worth it. Tuition isn't expensive, so if you really aren't sure what you want to focus on yet, you won't be wasting a whole lot of money on trying out different things.
What to do for fun The campus is always hosting all sorts of events, so whether you're into sports, volunteering, or getting free stuff, there's always something for you.
Food and Dining There are several dining options on campus. In building A, your choices are Quiznos, a sub place; Wow Cafe and Wingery, a place to buy things like chicken and burgers; and the market place, a changing menu of more home-style food. Next to the library is Jazzman's Cafe and Bakery, where you can get baked goods and all sorts of drinks. In building B, you have the GGCity Cafe, where there are sandwiches, soups, and a Starbucks. Lastly is the dining hall, my favorite place to eat. There are four main stations: Classics Station, Mongolian Grill, Pizza & Pasta Station, and The Campus Grill. There is also a salad bar, desert area, and a coffee station. You can also have your choice of breakfast cereals and soda drinks.
Dorm Life I do not live on campus, but I did visit the dorms, and they seem very nice. You get your own room, so no worrying about sharing that small living space with someone else. You do share a bathroom with one other person, so work out your schedule with that ahead of time so there are no last minute worries.
Academic Rigor College here is tough, but enough to make you scream, as long as you don't overwhelm yourself with classes you know you can't handle or too many credit hours.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared to set aside time for studying for all your classes. It is not possible to cram for a full load of classes in an hour. Also, don't be afraid to join one of the student clubs, because that's how you can meet people of the same interests.
In three sentences Georgia Gwinnett College is a great school for people who want a smaller campus, smaller class sizes, and a non-party school. Everything was built within the past ten years, so all the buildings feel like they are brand new. And it's a great school to figure out your major without paying bucket loads of money on tuition.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students There is something for everybody, most people are friendly, there is rarely a time when a guy hasn't held the door open for me. The professors are personal and friendly, you can really talk to them, and they never hesitate to help.
Bang for the buck I cannot stress how much money you can save by shopping for your textbooks online, used, and usually in good condition.
What to do for fun There are a few parks with fabulous trails within 10 miles, Lawrenceville Square has several exceptional restaurants and shopping opportunities, and the Mall of Georgia is so close. And I must mention the Starbucks that is about 2 miles away, on Duluth highway, and there is an AMC across the street if you want to go see a movie. This college is in the perfect location!
Food and Dining There are multiple places around campus to get a bite. My personal favorite is the Starbucks in B, but there are places all over, including a sub shop, a couple of cafe's, and a pizza shop (the pizza is really good).
Dorm Life The dorms are new, and very nice.
Academic Rigor It is not easy, but it isn't ridiculous either. You study about as much as you would expect to.
Tips for prospective students Always look eager in class but don't bother the professor too much. If you are eager, but not annoying, and show in your grades that you are paying attention, they will usually give you that extra point or two at the end of the semester to bump you up a letter.
In three sentences Georgia Gwinnett is absolutely the best choice for local students. It is cost effective compared to other colleges, and still has the authentic college experience many students don't want to miss. Academically it is not crazy but it is serious enough to feel like you are getting something out of it.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Although this is a wonderful place and all, there are some safety issues. I have heard of a girl being assaulted in the parking pot at night. Good thing GGC just installed a new software to call cops so they could walk one to their vehicle when needed. Asides from that, it is a peaceful place.
Greek Life I don't know if there any fraternities here at GGC.
Clubs and Activities There almost a club for anything, if not one can simply make his or her own club for others to join.
Great for these types of students This college is great for students who are organized, outgoing, and don't really look for something expensive.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Walk Through the Arc was a strange tradition where all the upcoming 1st year students walked through the GGC arc.
What to do for fun There are many clubs one can join around the campus from dance clubs, reading clubs, to even video game clubs. If the club one looks for is not listed, one could simply gather people and make one.
Food and Dining I really love the food here. It's a walk in buffet which has fine dishes such as Chinese food, delicious junk food such as pizza, and even healthy foods such as vegetables and fruits. It really is a variety to pick from.
Dorm Life I don't dorm here but from my friend's points of view, it's alright to dorm here although some people could be too loud at night.
Academic Rigor College should not be difficult. The only challenging part to it is time management and organizing.
Tips for prospective students Visit the library and explore the wonders.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus safety is pretty good. There's also a campus police car around and they have a number you can call for an escort if you're leaving campus at night and feel you need someone to escort you to your car. The campus crime is pretty much non existent.
Greek Life There is no Greek life unfortunately.
Clubs and Activities There's a pretty good amount of student led clubs on campus. They have a soccer club, Caribbean student club, chess club. There's just about every kind of club you can imagine on campus. There's also intramural sports and the college just got sports teams for soccer, softball and baseball.
Great for these types of students This college is great for students who are commuters in Gwinnett county or students who prefer a smaller class size. All the classes are 20-30 students per class so it's easier to retain the material and talk to the professor.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There's a room on campus called the LVIS room and I've noticed that every party and major event held on campus is held in that room so I'm assuming that's the campus party room.
Bang for the buck This school is DEFINITELY worth the money. The tuition is very cheap and is the reason why I enrolled in the school in the first place. You're not going to find a cheaper school tuition wise in Georgia that is also a four year college with on campus housing.
What to do for fun There's a game room on campus so I spend most of my time in there. They have just about all the good games on PS3, Xbox 360 and the Xbox Kinect. There's also ping pong tables and pool tables in the room.
Food and Dining The food is pretty good. The dining hall has the basic stations but the best food on campus is in the other buildings that also have classes in them. In the other buildings they have a Quizno's and WOW Wings Cafe. Also there's a cafe called Jazzman's on campus that has great coffee and pastries.
Dorm Life The housing is brand new and each apartment has a kitchenette, flat screen TV, and furniture in the living room and bedrooms included. The dorms are relatively fun but can get boring if you're not with the right set of people.
Academic Rigor Majority of the professors have PhD's so don't expect the courses to be high school easy. The classes are not too hard but not too easy and the professors work really hard to make sure you understand the material.
Tips for prospective students If you're considering this school, I would advise any prospective students to get a meal plan. The food is pretty good. Also, make sure to get all your financial aid business done as soon as possible, the school has grown over night so try to get to the financial aid office before anyone else.
In three sentences Georgia Gwinnett College is highly innovative. It's environmental friendly and modern. Also, majority of the professors have PhD's with NO office hours!

Clubs and Activities Tons of clubs and activities that you can join!
Bang for the buck Super cheap, and if you have FAFSA and HOPE, then you will definitely be getting a huge amount back!
What to do for fun There are many clubs and activities. If you don't enjoy those, there are usually people playing frisbee in front of the library! There are really a lot of interesting things on campus!
Food and Dining Their buffet is pretty good! Freshmens get free 15 passes into the buffet, so make sure you use it!
Academic Rigor Not that hard, but it really depends on the teacher you have. But overall, it isn't too bad.
Tips for prospective students Although there are many good teachers here, go on ratemyprofessor.com before signing up for classes! Some teachers are terrible, so you should be prepared! And remember to meet up with your counselor every semester. If you don't, they won't take a hold off your account, which prevents you from signing up for classes!!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Overall the campus is safe. There are police and camera around. Just don't be stupid and stand outside in the middle of the parking lot at 2:00 am in the morning alone... ok?
Greek Life Not much
Clubs and Activities There is quite a variety; but since I worked, i did not have the chance to partake in any.
Great for these types of students New to college; transfer students; part-timers
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus A lot of construction around the area because of 316 and the expanding amount of students attending.
Bang for the buck I got 2 years of college done without any loans. I learned quite a bit and a lot of the classes transfer, even to schools like Georgia Tech.
What to do for fun ... Nothing really to do in Lawrenceville. But there are plenty of clubs, activities, and groups that do community service and events.
Food and Dining Good variety of food with a campus buffet and some fast food choices. There are also a lot of local places since the college is not too far from the mall of Georgia. A little expensive on campus, but it was of good quality.
Academic Rigor Very easy. I took AP in high school and was blown away by how easy this school was. Some of the classes were VERY informative and interesting, so just because it is easy, that doesn't mean its not a good school. I worked 20-30 hours a week and had a lot of down time and still had a 4.0. If I can do it, anyone can.
Tips for prospective students 1. Commute; not worth living on campus. 2. Do your HW. As long as you pay attention in class and do your assignments, you should do fine. 3. If you are commuting, parking is scarce. Leave in plenty of time.
In three sentences Georgia Gwinnett college is a good transition school for students coming out of high school. The classes are small like high school yet the material is more college-level. The school is a bit overcrowded, but the diverse student and teacher community makes it a very interesting campus.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Every time you walk to class whether it's early in the morning or late at night there is always a police car patrolling the premises. Also, if you don't feel safe walking to class you can always call and ask a security guard to escort you. In the dorms there are plenty of security guards monitoring the cameras and front, back, and side entrances at all times.
Greek Life Slowly but surely Georgia Gwinnett College will have sororities and fraternities in the future.
Clubs and Activities Georgia Gwinnett College has plenty of clubs and organizations that can fit your type of style.
Great for these types of students Georgia Gwinnett College is a good start whether your a freshman or a transfer student.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Make sure you check out Jazzman's they have amazing coffee there and sometimes make a stop over at Starbucks and they also have a mini cafe in there as well that serves all types of sandwiches.
Bang for the buck Georgia Gwinnett College is cheaper than other colleges or universities, because its smaller and through time it will branch out more.
What to do for fun There is always events on campus that usually have free food. Also almost every Friday, Greenlight hosts a dance or some type of themed event that are really fun to go to.
Food and Dining First, eating at the dining hall is great and all, but after a month or two you'll get tired of eating at the same stations that you go to almost everyday. So, I would suggest checking out the Starbucks , Jazzman's and A Building Cafe( they have Quiznos, Marketplace, and World of Wings).
Dorm Life The reason why I didn't rate it a full 5 stars was, because the walls in the dorms are so thin. On the bright side you get your own room and you share a bathroom with one other person and you have a living area with a flat screen tv! You have a refrigerator that you share with other roommates and the dorms is a really nice place to meet new people.
Academic Rigor Teachers will usually respond back to a text or call within 24 hours. Also, the majority of teachers are willing to give you extra help whether you need extra time after class or scheduling a meeting with them.
Tips for prospective students 1. Make sure you always review over old material, because you can soon forget it by the time of the final. 2. Keep in contact with your professor, whether its via email, text, or call. 3. TIME MANAGEMENT IS KEY!
In three sentences I would give Georgia Gwinnett College five stars. They have an excellent staff who will willingly help you. Also, there are plenty of ways to help you find extra help; tutors and the AEC(academic enhancement center).
