Great for these types of students

Yes; this school is not too expensive, it promotes a safe environment, the office is friendly, and if you play your cards right, you can graduate with an associates degree early while also making money at your job. This school is a great first step to making it in the real world.

    Am enjoying being here

Yes; the teachers will not pressure you to do the homework. You have full responsibility for your actions. The teachers will usually be there after class if you need them to help you.

    Am learning a lot

Yes; this junior college is accredited which means credits will transfer anyway. It is also ranked the #12 community college in the nation and so far it's living up to its hype.

    Campus Safety

The GMC Warner Robins campus is very small and close-knit. The main building of classrooms has a particular security desk, and there is always an officer on duty patrolling the parking lots.

    Greek Life

GMC does offer some opportunities for sororities and fraternities. I have not personally participated, however, I receive e-mails and news from the groups about opportunities to serve in the community and within the school.

    Clubs and Activities

GMC has a wide variety of clubs and activities to participate in, including various community service projects. I am on the newsletter which gathers campus news and community stories to bring to the students.

Great for these types of students

GMC is an extremely flexible college that allows students of all types, traditional and non-traditional, to study and succeed.

    Bang for the buck

I took a year off of school after I graduated from high school so that I could specifically save money for college. I have, so far, successfully paid for my first two years completely out of pocket!

    What to do for fun

GMC offers a wide variety of activities and clubs that can keep any student active. Despite the lack of sports, GMC partners with local high schools and colleges who do have sports and allows their students to participate.

    Food and Dining

GMC does not offer a dinning plan, so the food supplied is through vending machines.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorm opportunities at GMC. It is a commuter college.

    Academic Rigor

Though GMC is a competitive school, it is a community college so the academic rigor may not match up with that of its 4-year counterparts.

    Tips for prospective students

The most important thing for any college experience is to just do it! The process of applying and registering can be overwhelming and scary, but college is a crucial aspect of a young adults life. Expect the unexpected and be prepared to keep an open mind.

    In three sentences

Georgia Military College (GMC) of Warner Robins is an extremely open and inviting college. The professors are engaging and helpful. The most important aspect that I enjoy is the fact that GMC is reasonably priced for an excellent education.
