    Greek Life

greek life is not a part of the grace university experience.

    Clubs and Activities

there are not many clubs at grace university, however many students design their own activities and create different events for all students to partake in.

Great for these types of students

grace university fits outgoing and shy students well as well as students who are focused not only on their educational career, but also on their spiritual growth and wisdom.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

at grace university, there are special hoildays that classes tend to be canceled for.

    Tips for prospective students

i recommend that all new students spend at least one year living on campus. without this experience, students tend to not feel connected to the on campus students.

    In three sentences

grace university has a great community atmosphere. in addition to the community atmosphere, the academic programs are wonderful and the majority of the advisors are very helpful and wonderful people. despite all the positive qualities of grace university, there are often many maintenance issues but the maintenance department works very hard and keeps all the issues under control.

    Campus Safety

The safety at Grace is amazing! We have professional security guards on campus at all times and they do a very thorough job. We also have key cards that are only issued to students and staff, making it impossible to get into the buildings without one. As the campus is in downtown Omaha, the school even gives out the phone numbers of some male students who have offered to walk female students across campus after dark. You can always call security as well. If there was ever a security breach, the school addressed it quickly and kept the students well informed.

    Clubs and Activities

There are so many ways to get involved, especially because Grace is so small, it's easy to find activities to become involved in, and it's a great way to make new friends.

Great for these types of students

Grace University is great for students seeking a loving community that will challenge your faith and help you to grow in knowledge. It's great for any type of personality because we have them all!

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Grace University used to be a hospital so we have fun telling silly stories about what is still down in the basement of the buildings, especially to incoming freshmen.

    Bang for the buck

One of the most inexpensive private schools I've seen, they work hard to make sure that our money is being put to good use. It's still expensive, don't get me wrong, but the education is well worth it.

    What to do for fun

For fun, I hang out with my friends. We watch movies, play games, go to parks, and just fellowship. We have fun no matter what we're doing or where we are. We make fun out of studying by going to frozen yogurt places to study or we take study breaks from the library to dance in the rain. You're only in college once so we're making the most of the time we have.

    Food and Dining

I doubt many people go to college for the food and although sometimes the cafeteria lacks variety, the man in charge is always looking for suggestions. He very willingly takes critique and works to meet all of our requests. I also know that many people look forward to the ice cream bar open at all meals.

    Dorm Life

The community at Grace University is the best aspect. This goes right along with dorm life. Making you feel at home is a priority. There are places all over campus to hang out with friends or make new friends. Activities are planned with your hall as well as for the whole school, it's one of the perks of going to a smaller school.

    Academic Rigor

There are so many challenging courses that really make you do your homework and learn. That being said, the professors are so willing to help you and really want you to succeed. The classes are hard and the grading scale even harder but success is easy if you put forth your best effort.

    Tips for prospective students

Prospective students should seek out the Team Leaders and RA's around campus if they ever have any questions. You should not be afraid to talk to anyone because the community is the best part of the school. Everyone knows everyone and genuinely cares about the well-being of others. Tips to prospective students: don't sweat it, just love people, they're going to love you right back.

    In three sentences

Grace University is dedicated to their mission statement. Grace University is committed to the education of their students. Grace University has professors and faculty who genuinely care for the students.

We play Mafia in the ADM building pretty much every other week. We hand out cards, some people are townspeople others are the mafia. The goal is for the mafia to kill as many townspeople without getting caught and the townspeople are supposed to find out who is the mafia.

    Bang for the buck

Opening week makes you want to be here!

    What to do for fun

Watch movies in the Grace Escape Theater Play Ultimate Ping Pong Hangout in the Lions Den Coffee time, for all those coffee drinkers there is Scooters and Aromas Take a walk downtown in the Old Market

    Food and Dining

More variety, the cooks do their best and they have different options for different days.

    Dorm Life

Everyone is just willing to get to know each other and just join in on the fun!

    Academic Rigor

This is an automatic double major college, so you get two for the price of one.

    Tips for prospective students

Do no procrastinate on homework. Go to class, because attendance really matters. Truly seek to explore your identity.

    Campus Safety

It is a small campus so everything is pretty close. There is campus security 24/7. Also, some of the male students rotate and walk the girls to their dorms or library at night. I personally don't feel any danger when I go at night, but I grew up in Omaha so I know where the dangerous areas are at.

    Greek Life

    This doesn't exist here.

    Clubs and Activities

I just want to mention that I did attend a large high school with many different clubs, activities, and sports so I think they don't have a lot. They are planning on adding more things, but I honestly am not sure.

Great for these types of students

As I mentioned before, this school is great if you want to study with a world-view Christian perspective.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Each semester we have Day of Prayer, and Bible Conference. Basically, on Day of Prayer classes are canceled and the throughout the whole day there are different sessions you attend to go pray. You are required to go to at least 4 plus the main required session for the whole school. Bible Conference is for a whole week and is basically like Day of Prayer except they invite a special speaker.

    Bang for the buck

I actually am here on a scholarship so I don't pay for anything but I do believe you are getting your money's worth. The teachers do not waste their time. The only bad part is some of your general classes make you buy a book you won't use a lot so I recommend you rent them, or buy them used.

    What to do for fun

The school is located in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. Most students are from very small towns so coming to Omaha is a big deal to them. I grew up here so I don't see the big deal. But you could go downtime and slide down these HUGE slides. You go down really fast if you have wax paper with you. Also, there is Red Mango, frozen yogurt. There are many more things as well.

    Food and Dining

I am Hispanic so I think the food could be better, then again I am a picky eater. Sometimes they knock it out of the park, but other days you just make yourself a sandwich. The dinning commons is buffet style. My personal favorite is the abundant supply of ice-cream.

    Dorm Life

I am an off-campus student, but I am adopted to a dorm. I am basically living there, and again everyone is super friendly. I think it's harder trying not to make friends than making friends. The dorms are not co-ed but every Sunday they do have open dorms for a few hours where the girls and guys can go into their halls. You can decide whether that's a positive or negative.

    Academic Rigor

I gave it four stars because of all the reading, both secular and sacred. You are required to do a lot of work, but if you manage your time it shouldn't be that big of a problem.

    Tips for prospective students

When I first started I didn't expect to take a lot of biblical classes. If you attend here, you are automatically graduating with a minor in biblical studies, so I think that's a plus. There will be A LOT of reading and writing, so learn how to prioritize. Your planner is your friend! You are also required to go to chapel.

    In three sentences

If you want a Christ-centered curriculum, this is a great school. Since it is such a small school you get more help from the teachers. Also, it might sound somewhat strange but everyone is really nice to one another there.

    Campus Safety

Grace just updated the walk dividing the two units of campus with new lighting, and the security is always walking around. The students are given emergency phone numbers if they need them, and the security officers are friendly enough to walk people to their vehicles if need be. The men on campus are very chivalrous; they watch out for the women :)

    Clubs and Activities

I am not really part of extra-curricular activities, but everyone seems to have a great time doing extra things around campus. There are opportunities for employment throughout campus every semester.

Great for these types of students

Those who are not afraid for a challenge. The students that thrive here are not afraid to question the professors and each other. Grace is a safe place to test out your heresies, as one professor put it. As long as you are respectful of the beliefs of others and you are able to back up what you say with sound evidence, your voice is heard. As a career person coming back to college after 5 years, I was scared that it was going to be too hard. But the professors are not shy; they will help you when you ask.

Each semester (or year, I can't remember which) there is a Day of Prayer event where almost all classes are cancelled and students are required to go to a certain amount of sessions proportional to however many credit hours they take. Chapel is a daily happening, and students are required to go to a certain amount as well, proportional to the amount of credit hours. SLT, Student Leadership Training, is required of all undergrad students taking 7 credit hours or more a semester. This is basically volunteering for 2.5 hours a week for 13 weeks (it is less for incoming freshmen). As a non-traditional student, I am not exactly a fan of some of the required extra events that Grace offers because I also have a career that I previously trained for. I don't have some of the extra time that other students might have to go to all of these events. However, for some cases, there is a waiver one can sign for regularly scheduled work hours.

    Bang for the buck

Since this school is a private Christian school, it is quite expensive. However, there are some financial perks for those who choose to be full-time students that also have a good GPA. The teaching quality of the professors is unparalleled to what I have experienced; therefore you are getting your money's worth!

    What to do for fun

The Old Market is right down the street, so that is a really fun place to go to. Within a mile is the Durham Museum, the Children's Museum, and plenty of places to eat and shop. Little Italy is nearby (Orsi's Pizza and bread is AMAZING), along with a great little donut shop as well. There is a pedestrian bridge that links Omaha with Council Bluffs that students love to walk across.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria has a huge array of choices. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served on a daily basis (except for the weekends, I think). If you don't want what the main dish is for that day, you can make anything else you want. There is a salad bar, pasta bar, sandwich bar, and ice cream! They also provide skillets and burners if you would like to cook your own eggs, stir fries, etc.

    Dorm Life

I do not live in the dorms, but the people I know that live in the dorms really love it there. Each hall does their own activities to promote unity. Of course, sometimes I hear that people need to get away for a while, but that can be normal for any place you live.

    Academic Rigor

If you like a challenge, this is the place for you! Although it can be, the professors are not opposed to meeting students and giving assistance when they need it.

    Tips for prospective students

Talk to any of the staff on campus if you need help. Not only are they extremely knowledgable, they can help you find someone who is if they cannot answer your inquiries.

    In three sentences

After attending this university for two years, I LOVE the experience! The students are really friendly; the overall atmosphere is very friendly. All of the professors are extremely learned and are not afraid to challenge the students.
