Take courses that interest you and sit in the front of the class for at least a week during the semester. Most importantly, know that your professors are there to help (Really!!). That sounds so cliche, but don't be afraid to reach out to them whether you're confused in their course or you're having other troubles. You'd be surprised at the amount of understanding and personal compassion the faculty at GU has to offer, I know I was.

Don't be discouraged by its country setting, this small town still has a lot to offer. Not all mobile phones work here, e.g. my room mates phone; get verizon or a tracfone (I have that). Apply for institutional aid because almost everyone gets some form of it. Come with an open mind and heart, smile at everyone and I'm sure they'll smile back.
