You can watch a movie on campus, participate in activities, but not much of a party school so you will have to go off campus if you are looking for one.

Join an organization! This will surely introduce you to others, and give you some time away from studying. There are many options to choose from, just find the one that fits you best. Plus, downtown Grand Rapids is a quick trip away, giving plenty of more options!

Grand Valley offers tons of events on campus that are available to all students - commuters included. There are comedy shows, poetry slams, and free food everywhere. GO. You won't regret it.

For fun, there are many on-campus activities. For example, at the end of this week I am attending a country concert in the Fieldhouse and an overnight fundraiser. There are other various events throughout the year to attend such as sports events, shows and invites that clubs and organizations put on, and other volunteer events.

Grand Valley has an abundance of things to do for fun. In the Fall, there are a tons of apple orchards and cider mills to visit, as well as ArtPrize in Downtown Grand Rapids. Grand Valley always has special guests and events going on for students, for fun or for academics. There is also a club for pretty much anything you could possibly think of and plenty of sports teams that students can join for fun and to meet new people with similar interests. Again, Grand Rapids is about 25 minutes down the road and there is always something going on in the city, or even just exploring Grand Rapids is a fun way to spend the day. There is also the Grandville mall and movie theater as well as a ton of restaurants right by campus if you're looking for a more relaxed evening. There is always something fun to do around campus or in Grand Rapids, you just have to keep your eyes open and have fun no matter what you're doing, that's what college is all about.

I suggest getting involved and meeting new people. Just today I volunteered to work the science olympiad, and that was actually really fun. I was a time keeper for the robo-cross event, and watching these middle schoolers do these tasks with robots they built was awesome. I was able to connect with staff and other students while doing so, and it was generally a good time.
