    Great for these types of students

    Somebody who loves a challenge and is willing to work hard but can also relax and have a good time! Oh, and it's pretty tough to get in so WORK HARD in high school! Note: Grove City is NOT a good school if you're a party-person. Yes, we have some pretty awesome parties--no, I have not yet even seen any alcohol or drugs on campus (as mandated by GCC standards).
    Tips for prospective students

    As the popular campus saying goes: Grove City College--where your best isn't good enough since 1876. It will be a lot of work, but it will also be the most amazing learning experience of your life. Also, be prepared to be challenged and uplifted in your faith by both students and faculty. Finally, if you love sports, this is the place for you. On average a student participates in 2.3 Intramural sports...not including club and varsity.
    Bang for the buck

    While $19,414 may seem like a lot to me to pay each year for an education, it is probably half of what other private schools cost. In addition, I don't think that I could ever recieve a better education. Most definitely worth all of the long hours worked over the summer and breaks to help pay for it!

    Again, 5 stars doesn't cover it. The professors are amazing and obviously really love what they do. All the students (that I've met) are also amazing and love to have a good time, but (for the most part) are also passionate about learning. On top of it all the cafeteria food is even pretty good!

    I believe listing 5 stars on this is an understatement. I did not think it was even possible for me to learn the amount of material we have covered just in my first semester! The professors are all extremely helpful and the class sizes allow for a more personal interaction with them in the event of a troublesome topic.

    It's great for those who don't mind working harder than they did in high school and for those who like being on the more conservative side. We have lots of campus jokes about that.
    Bang for the buck

    You can't find a better college for a better price. Both of my roommates decided to come here because they couldn't find a better college in their state - even though they're all the way from California!
    Am enjoying being here

    I have made so many great friends and it seems like everyone is there to help you out. There are tons of activities to choose from, whether it be sports, swing and ballroom dancing, worship, theater, or music. Every weekend, it seems, there is some event such as talent shows, Whose Line, dances, special speakers, and movie reviews.
    Am learning a lot

    I am learning so much more than I did in high school. It seems as though the information is presented in a clearer way and it is more applicable to to life in general.

    Great for these types of students

    Anyone who knows the value of hard academic work and is good at balancing tons of work with social stuff. Also, someone who is strong in their relationship with Christ or would like to be stronger - yes, it is a Christian school, and I think anyone who isn't Christian would probably feel a little out of place. You don't have to have all the answers, though...people here are in all different stages of their faith.
    Tips for prospective students

    Make sure that you come and visit the campus - most people live really close, so that's not hard, but as someone who comes from further away, it was really important for me to see what GCC was actually like. The numbers in the pamphlet didn't convince me to come here - it was the atmosphere and the general attitude of everyone here when I visited.
    Bang for the buck

    Grove City prides itself on being affordable, and it's the cheapest of all the schools I was considering. Despite being budget-friendly, all of the facilities are really nice - they just renovated the freshmen girls' dorms, which is definitely a plus. Also, they give all incoming freshman new tablet PCs, which means that everyone has the same tool, and therefore the same opportunity as far as internet access and notetaking and such.

    I'm from the opposite side of the country, so Grove City seems not even real, like it's from a postcard or a calendar or something. Of course, it rains a lot more than I'm used to, but now I actually have an appreciation for sunny days! Also, everyone I've met here has just been awesome, and even though I still feel like a dumb freshman, I know there's always someone willing to help me out if I just ask.
    Am learning a lot

    So far, I've had TONS of academic knowledge crammed into my brain, but I've also been learning a lot about myself and how I deal with life on my own. Grove City is a great place to go if you want to be serious about school, but there's also a lot of non-academic lessons to be learned, as well.

    Grove City college is great for hard-working, bright students who want to follow Christ, live and grow among other devoted believers, and learn to use their gifts to their maximum potential.
    Tips for prospective students

    Yes, it's a lot of work to be a good GCC student. Yes, you can still have an awesome college experience despite that fact. Practice good study habits so you won't be knocked off your feet by the workload when you get here. As a member of a fraternity, I can say that it's been awesome being able to live with such an amazing group of guys this year. When you get here, look into fraternities, sororities, and housing groups. It has really enhanced my college experience, and I would recommend that all freshmen consider it. Most importantly: Don't get too worked up about grades! Do your best, but don't stress as if you need an A to have a successful future. Strive to glorify God with your work here, and you'll have nothing to worry about.

    From Grove City's website: U.S. News & World Report has again ranked Grove City College the No. 1 Best Value in its category for the 2007 guide. This year marks the fifth year in a row that Grove City has been named in the top spot. As a student at GCC, I will say that there is a reason for this. I am learning a ton here, I am confident that I am getting a phenomenal education, and tuition (plus room & board) is less than $10,000 a semester. Compared to what you'd pay at another private school for a comparable education, that price is an absolute steal.

    Personally, I don't think I could enjoy any other college as much as GCC. While we GCC students have a relatively atypical sense of fun, there is always an interesting activity or event to participate in, and people are always willing to hang out and have a good time. (No, this does not imply wild partying; Grove City College is not a party school by any stretch of the imagination.) In my experience so far, GCC is an awesome place to be, and I really do love it here. The campus is beautiful, the food is good, and even the dorms are comfortable. My only complaint is that there's often too much work to be done to really appreciate being on campus. Yes, that's to be expected given the high caliber of education I am getting, but it does take away from the overall enjoyment of being at GCC.
    Am learning a lot

    I've learned more than a lot. I've learned more than I thought I had the capacity for! The professors here are passionate about what they teach, and they truly want their students to learn the material (not to just appear to have learned the material). Yes, the professors assign more difficult work; and yes, it can be overwhelming at times. But that is how you get such a high-quality education here -- you're being pushed to actually learn the material!

    Visit the campus! Definitely interview! Talk to current students. Apply Early Decision if you know it's where you want to go. When you get in, take Old and New Testament with Dr. Bibza!

    Grove City is very affordable. It is cheaper than some in-state institutions!

    The campus is beautiful and there are some great school sponsored activities. Apart from that there is not much to do. Grove City is very small. There is one coffee shop downtown and the outlets are nearby. As far as entertainment goes, the movie theater, The Guthrie, plays one movie a week. There is a drive in about 20 minutes away but is probably not open in the winter. There is no way to get to Pittsburgh if you don't have a car.
    Did learn a lot

    The faculty and classes are wonderful. The small class sizes mean your professors will know your name and it is easy to have an interactive class. The professors are experts in their fields and communicate effectively. The theme of the school is 'Rigorous Academics' and it is no joke. You have to work hard to keep up but it is totally worth it. Another important feature of the school is it's Christian foundation and a Christan Worldview is constantly taught in the classroom.

    Grove City College is well known for engineering and liberal arts. The college also is strong in the sciences, and is even listed as a DNA sequencing center! This school is a great choice for students who are serious both about their academics and about their faith in Christ.
    Tips for prospective students

    If you are interested in applying, make sure to take challenging courses in high school. Your grades, as well as the difficulty level of your high school coursework, are important components in admissions. Also, make sure to have significant involvement in at least one or two extracurricular activities. If you live close enough to the college, be certain to schedule an interview, as this is given a lot of weight. I would also recommend scheduling a tour of the beautiful campus.

    While the college’s annual tuition fee of $21,008 is higher than the tuition fees at state schools, it is still much lower than the cost of almost all other private colleges. This fee covers the cost of tuition, room and board for the entire year. A 21-meal-per-week meal plan is included in this cost. Students also receive a notebook computer at matriculation, which is theirs’ to keep upon graduation. The quality of the education you will receive for this price is exceptional, and Grove City College is known for providing an affordable quality education. However, incoming students should be aware that Grove City College does not accept any federal funds including federal grants, federally affiliated scholarships, and federal loans.
    Am enjoying being here

    Grove City College has a very safe and supportive environment that allows students to flourish. Drugs, alcohol, and crime are practically nonexistent, and the campus has a distinctly genuine Christian atmosphere. Chapel is offered twice a week, and there are many additional special chapels and speakers throughout the school year. Students also have the option of joining small groups or attending student-lead worship services. There are a wide array of on-campus activities, ranging from a huge selection of intramural sports to service and ministry opportunities to dances, concerts and other recreational events. The professors are extremely helpful and caring, and because of the small class sizes, many of them will know you by name. In my experience, the professors are excellent at keeping their scheduled office hours and are always willing to answer questions or discuss a topic or issue in which a student is particularly interested.
    Am learning a lot

    Before coming to Grove City College, I did not even think it was possible to learn so much in such a short time. The professors here cover material at a fast pace, but still manage to address topics in depth and challenge you to think about the material and make connections to other topics and subjects. Even if you took many challenging courses in high school, you will not waste a lot of time going over material you already know. The preliminary material is covered quickly, and then you will rapidly move on to more advanced topics, keeping the material fresh and interesting for advanced students. A Grove City College education will challenge you to think critically and deeply.

    There are so many amazing people here. Hardly ever do I meet a mean person. The workload is hard, so that is sometimes not enjoyable, but I really like my major and classes, so that makes the hard work less painful. There are so many great activities and ministries to get involved in too that make life here so much better.
    Am learning a lot

    Every class that I have taken so far has challenged me. I have learned so much this year, not only about what I am studying, but also about myself and how to be successful. Professors are always willing to help.

    I don't know if this counts as an activity, but I'm really excited for chapel. Also, two other things that I personally think are cool are the ballroom dance club and any music performances. They also have CREW!! yay!

    well, I don't remember the story so I won't try to tell it to you, but I'd just like to say if you are a guy at Grove proposing to a girl at Grove, I would suggest doing it when it's warm out, or after graduation, unless you are up for a little fun in the water.
    Food and Dining

    Think I'm weird if you want, but I was mostly excited that they have chocolate milk available. But the dining areas are well cleaned and not too crowded. The food looks great with a lot of options including healthy stuff, but I didn't get a chance to eat it, so I am not sure if I qualify for this part of the review.
    Dorm Life

    The dorms look AWESOME. Not too big, not too small, and plenty of leeway for decorating. It's cool to have a room key card like hotels.
    Academic Rigor

    I've heard so many good things!! The professors that I met were all so nice and ready and willing to help you learn. The classes seem to have challenging material in it, while still being exciting in a way that makes you want to learn more.
    Tips for prospective students

    I would definitely suggest visiting the campus before you make any decisions. The campus at Grove City is gorgeous and the staff and faculty are really nice and super helpful. And of course it is really helpful to be on top of things, and make sure that you are giving yourself the time you need to get everything done.

    The campus safety at Grove City is good, though the students are usually mocking them or pocking fun at them, but I think that's true of every college and their campus safety groups.
    Greek Life

    Greek life is vibrant, with many sororities and fraternities. This is a great way to form bonds and friendships that extend far beyond the college years and into your whole lifetime.
    Clubs and Activities

    There are a plethora of clubs and activities to join. Because Grove City is a Christian college, there are many ministries on campus that serve the surrounding area.

    If you are hard-working, diligent, Christian, devoted, and love learning then Grove City is the right college for you.

    When a guy gets engaged, all of his friends surprise him, tackle him, and carry him to Wolf Creek which runs through lower campus and through him into the river. This is called Creeking, and it's pretty fun. The cries of Wolf Creek! Wolf Creek! are often heard in the fall and spring, and that's the cue that someone is being creeked.

    Grove City is extremely low in cost. This is outstanding because the low cost isn't a compromise for high academics; both high academic standards and a low tuition are here at Grove City.
    What to do for fun

    This is probably Grove City's biggest struggle; since it's located in a small town, there's no city life and during the weekends there often isn't much to do. But with friends you get creative and always manage to figure something out.
    Food and Dining

    The food is pretty good, though not the best. But there's always a couple of things that are good options in the cafeteria.
    Dorm Life

    Dorm life can be good if you join Greek life, otherwise it can be fairly isolating. As with any college, if you find a group of friends that you love, you'll make it through college just fine.
    Academic Rigor

    Since Grove City is located in a small town, there isn't much city life or activities during the weekends, which means that academics are the top priority for Grove City students. Academically, Grove City is excellent, at the top of its class.
    Tips for prospective students

    Get ready to read and to learn. It's tough, but it's worth it. If you're not serious about academics and if you don't enjoy learning, I wouldn't go to Grove City.

Grove City also is fairly diverse; like any college campus it has its fair share of wild people who are in college just to have a good time. At Grove City, you will be challenged and you will grow over all four years; I've learned so much and I'm glad I chose Grove City.

    This school is a huge bang for your buck. Only around $20,000 for tuition, and the education you will receive is second to none. I feel that I am learning so much more than friends at other colleges and universities, and at a price so much lower than theirs.

    Grove City also has a very active community. There is always some kind of concert or sports event to attend, and everyone is very welcoming.

    Grove City College has a very academically charged atmosphere. Class sizes are fairly small compared to larger schools, making the learning experience a lot more personal. The professors are always interested in what students have to say, and are extremely approachable and helpful.

    I have met so many wonderful people at GCC whom I am honored and blessed to know. Without a doubt, my friends at school are the closest friends I have ever had, and for this I am extremely grateful. Despite the rigorous academic schedule and lack of free time, I would not want to go to any other school. It is a unique and wonderful place on earth.

    The first two weeks of freshman year, I was in complete academic shock and had no clue how I was going to make it through four years here. However, I quickly learned just how helpful the professors are and how excellent of education I was and still am receiving here.

    I must say after researching this evening and having a friend that graduated from Grove City and also knowing and working for a Professor from this college, I have alot of respect and admiration for this school, I think out of most of the competing colleges in the area Grove City has a stronger academic program and maybe higher quality professors and a positive influential student body than most. My vote goes to Grove City college

    I know for me it was a little intimidating coming to a school with fraternities and sororities, but they are definitely a great addition to the campus. They aren't super crazy like at other schools because they are under college rules and live on halls in the various dorms instead of off campus.

    Grove City only cost a little over $20,000, which is probably the least expensive small, private education you're going to find. Plus, you're getting a top notch education.
    Tips for prospective students

    The first thing I would like to say to you prospective students, is not to get overwhelmed by the amount of work. I know at first it seems like you'll never be able to get everything done, you can do it while still having friends. The second thing I would like to say, is that even if you're stressed out with homework, get involved with some on campus groups. You'll have a ton of fun, get to know great people, and plus, it makes a good study break.

    Grove City has been an excellent school so far. I am only a freshman, but I already feel completely a part of the school and I am learning so much from my classes, as well as the social life. If you're looking for a great school that will make you work, upholds Christian values, and has a great community life, then you should definitely check out Grove City!

    Grove City is very cost-efficient. It is much cheaper than all of the other schools I had looked at, and it doesn't lose any quality in the process.
    What to do for fun

    There is a little movie theater a few streets over, the Grove City Outlets are less than 20 minutes away, and there are several different restaurants within a few minutes of the campus. There is always something going on around campus as well.
    Food and Dining

    The cafeteria food is always unique and different. There is a lot of variety, and they work really hard to keep the food fresh and local.
    Dorm Life

    A sense of community is built here that I have yet to find anywhere else. Students on this campus genuinely love one another, and are eager to befriend, serve, and fellowship with each other.
    Academic Rigor

    Classes are challenging here. There is a decently heavy workload, and professors are always making you think and reexamine yourself and your beliefs.
    Tips for prospective students

    Study hard in high school. The earlier you learn good study skills and work habits, the better you will do at Grove City. Don't be intimidated by the rigor of the academics, but rather invest yourself and do your best. Get involved on campus, and pursue your passions while you are here. You have an invaluable opportunity to do so while at Grove City College, so make the most of it.

    Annoying, as with any campus safety. As long as you can out-run a fat guy, you'll be ok.
    Greek Life

    Most are cool, never had a problem with any particular one. Housing groups can sometimes be annoying. Some fraternities get on your nerves with some of the things they do for pledge and the weekends. Make friends with the fraternities and sororities, they WILL save your fun time and life during rough times...;)

    Responsible, scheduled students who aren't afraid to say no to fun and stay in and study.

    Traditions: dunk the sweethearts and fiance's in Wolf Creek. Tie people to poles for their birthdays. Siberia, car lot...
    Bang for the buck

    For what you pay for, you get a lot, including a laptop and printer. Education is great, people (most of them) are great (watch out for the judgey ones), campus is gorgeous in the spring and fall. Winter, get used to snow and wind and rain.
    What to do for fun

    Slippery Rock, explore old abandoned houses, visit the water tower, go golfing, party, outlets (gets old though) go to butler or some other town, Pittsburgh (get used to the fans, they suck!)
    Food and Dining

    Eh, food is sometimes great, when a tour group or holiday is coming up. The rest of the time, it mostly sucks. If you ever go to MAP, you have to get one of Sherri's omelets. Awesome!
    Dorm Life

    Most of the dorms are okay. Memorial is the best in terms of size and relative niceness. Explore, there is a lot of history hidden away in all of the dorm buildings, you just have to look for it.
    Academic Rigor

    Hard, Hard, HARD! The classes cannot be compared to other school's classes. The tests are killer. The professors know their stuff and they aren't afraid to test you on what they taught. Grove City College - where your best hasn't been good enough since 1876.
    Tips for prospective students

    Make sure you visit first and stay in a dorm so you can see what it is really like. Get all of your paperwork done early, it is a hassle if you don't. Go crazy and make friends, it's nice to know a lot of people in this school.

    Overall, the education is unparalleled. The teachers respect the sanctity of the school and the students. There isn't, however, much to do in the area; you have to be creative.

Only at specific times of the week are male/female interactions on the dorm floors permitted as well, with definite restrictions. If, however, you are a highly achieving, Christian, and passionate individual who doesn't mind some overcast weather... this place might just be for you.

    Try to spend a few days with someone before you apply or accept admission. Get a feel for the atmosphere of the school. I think it's a very warm and welcoming environment and a majority of the students are friendly and easy to talk to. However, it still have the feel of a small rural school and definitely has a Christian emphasis - great qualities for me but not for everyone.

    Grove City has to be one of the safest campuses in the country. It is located in a small town where nearly nothing happens. In addition, the campus safety officers are always walking and driving the grounds to make sure the students are safe.

    As a part of the Greek Life on campus I may be biased, but as a whole it is a wonderful experience. Most of the groups allow a chance to be very social and also give outlets to volunteer and help the community. Greek life is extremely fun!

    This school's value is amazing. Average cost for a student to go here is probably under $15,000 a year. For me personally it is a little under that!

    There is a very Christian environment provided and upheld by the RA's. Freshman dorm with freshmen and upperclassmen. Girl and guys are allowed in each others dorm only on certain hours during weekends.

    As stated before, Grove City is quite rigorous. It is possibly the most rigorous of any Christian school, and has been compared to Ivy League schools. Tests are not unbearable, but often close.

    There are lots of clubs and activities to join. There is something for every interest. No matter what you are interested in there is something to meet your needs and if there isn't you can create your own club. There are always things on campus to do and be involved with. With a campus of about 2,400 students there is an exceptional amount of things to do on campus.

    Lots of couples get engaged while attending Grove City so there is a tradition that when a couple gets engaged the male is kidnapped by his friends and thrown into Wolf Creek on campus and his fiancee is to be waiting for him with a towel. Serenading is a big thing on campus to go along with the getting engaged craze at Grove City College.
    What to do for fun

    There are always events going on on campus to do that it is impossible to do everything so you never have a reason to be bored. There is a bowling alley allowing you to bowl for 75 cents a game including shoes which is a cheap thing to do on campus. There is also a movie theater in town that has tickets for about $5. The town of Grove City is also a nice place to go and walk around on a nice day. There are lots of lounges and areas to just hang out with friends as well.
    Food and Dining

    There are two cafeterias and a made to order area. The cafeterias offer a wide variety of options for any dietary need and the made to order food can be on the meal plan during the week which is convenient. The only downside is that one of the cafeterias isn't open during the weekends and you can't get made to order food on the weekend on the meal plan making the one open cafeteria very busy. The meal plan that all residents get provides three meals a day seven days a week which means you don't have to worry about having enough meals to on your plan.
    Dorm Life

    The dorms are very comfortable and nice. All of the freshman are housed together which is nice and conducive to meeting new people. Freshman girls are mostly housed in triples which may sound hard but is actually not that bad and almost makes the room feel more homey. Although the dorms are not air conditioned it isn't too bad seeing as it is only needed for a couple weeks at the beginning and end of the school year. The freshman girls dorms were recently redone making them some of the nicest in the school.
    Academic Rigor

    The academics are definitely hard but the professors keep you engaged in the class and make you want to learn. The professors are very knowledgeable in their fields and are very willing to help in any way that they can. Make no mistake though, you have to work very hard to get good grades.
    Tips for prospective students

    Make sure that you visit the campus and take a tour and also be sure to interview. If possible try to spend the night with a student to give the best idea of what life would be like there. The more you visit the more you will be comfortable with what the college is really like.

    You can go anywhere, at anytime, all by yourself. The campus safety officers do their jobs, but they tend to overlook minor infractions... what's college without a little rule breaking, right? There's also a police station near the edge of campus.

    Greek life is pretty popular on campus. There are about 20 Greek groups on campus. About 15% of the student population is involved in Greek Life.
    Clubs and Activities

    Grove City has 150+ clubs and activity groups on campus and makes it very easy for new ones to be started. There is a great variety to choose from. Some clubs and activities include: Fraternities, Sororities, Clubs for majors and minors, IM sports, Varsity sports, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Adventure club, chess club, dance troupes, SGA, Student Assistants, Bible studies, Big Sis Lil' Sis, Orientation Board, etc.

    Grove City is a school for those who are serious about their academics. You have to be a good student. Also, students tend to be heavily involved in numerous activities, which is why there are so many clubs on campus. Another thing to keep in mind is that Grove City is a Christian school and while students do not need to be Christians to attend, there are required chapels and other Christian events for students to participate in.

    There are a ton of on campus events. Grove City does dances like they're going out of style. There is probably at least one a month. There are also on campus coffee houses, plays, shows, and movies. IM sports are a big draw. 2,300 out of 2,461 students participate in the 30 Intramural sports the college offers (that's over 93% for those of you who aren't mathematically minded.). There's also an outlet mall and restaurants about 15 minutes away (driving). The Guthrie Movie theater is located about a mile from the school, down on Broad Street.
    Food and Dining

    It really depends on what you like to eat. The food can be really good or really bad. The only thing I would change are the dining hall hours. They aren't choice for athletes or those with a night class.
    Dorm Life

    The dorms are well-kept and mostly up to date. All but one or two have wireless internet access. The dorms are all single sex and most have community bathrooms. The rooms are ample in size and you will find your dorm-mates to be quite friendly.
    Academic Rigor

    Grove City is know for its rigorous academics; that's how they advertise themselves. Due to this, GCC attracts those who tend to be more academically minded. For example: 47% of my class graduated in the top 10% of their class and 47 of them were their high school valedictorians. Be prepared to work hard and study hard. Much will be expected of you.

    If you study hard, you'll be okay, but it's okay to have fun too. Don't save up your chapel credits for the end of the semester. And don't take any type of physics your freshman year.

    Oh, my goodness is this school cheap! I have looked into other Christian schools with similar sizes (Grove City is a small school), and they are generally $30 to $40 thousand dollars per year. Grove City is $20,000/year and really gives you a great education.
    What to do for fun

    There is bowling on campus that is inexpensive, a $6 movie theatre nearby, a couple coffee shops where you can sit and relax, and Sheetz runs are very popular. For weekends, Pittsburgh is about 45 minutes away, so if you have a friend with a car, then you can go there to get away.
    Food and Dining

    There are always a lot of choices. There are 3 places you can go to eat, and 2 of them often have a wide variety. The third does not have as much variety, but is in a study area and therefore does not take you away from studying. Mexican food, Asian food, Italian food, American food, sandwiches, salads, cereal, and bread are always available. The dessert can be a hit or miss. MAP, GeDunk, and Hicks are the cafeterias, so each tab lists what is served at each location.
    Dorm Life

    The dorms are wonderful for the girls. Not very spacious, but not many are. They are plain white with stucco walls and have between 1 and 4 girls in them. You are most likely to be put with 1 or 2 other girls, though. Guys dorms are not as pretty, but none of the guys seem to complain about them. They have room for their video games and a couch, and that seems to be all that matters to them. Also, you are provided with your own desk, bed, and dresser with 4 drawers. Girls also get a small closet, and I am not sure whether boys do or not.
    Academic Rigor

    This school is very challenging academically. There are a few classes that and/or professors who are not so tough, but overall they are difficult. Be prepared to work A LOT and not have much of a social life (as long as high grades are important to you). You will likely have a 2.0 GPA if you try and a lower GPA (therefore getting kicked out) if you slack.
    Tips for prospective students

    I advise that you go in for an interview as you are much more likely (statistically) to be accepted if you have one. In the interview, be charming, kind, and confident, and you will do just fine. Make sure you dress in a skirt and nice blouse (females) or khakis and a polo (males).

    There, but not a huge deal on campus. They don't have their own housing and it is a dry campus so they are not connected to national Greek Life. Not a big deal for people that aren't in a sorority or frat, I'd say it's about half and half with people involved in greek life.

    Getting involved in campus activities opens up a lot of doors to have fun. Playing sports (whether varsity, club, or IM) or getting involved in the theater open up fun commitments. It is also nice to watch movies with friends or play games in the dorms. Ketler has pool tables as well as ping pong tables.

    Getting Creeked: when Grovers get engaged, the guy gets thrown into Woolf Creek on campus.

    Pittsburgh is close by, there are great shopping outlets just minutes away, and students regularly plan hang out times.

    Grove City has great options for food, and all of their food tastes great, but you do tend to get sick of it by Senior year.
    Dorm Life

    Most of the dorms are newly renovated and spacious, but some are on the older side and are in need of renovation.

    Grove City is very challenging and requires regular commitment to schoolwork.
    Tips for prospective students

    Research the school well before deciding to come here. Be prepared to work hard all 4 years, but also to develop close relationships with your professors, and also a great work ethic.

    Grove City is a challenging school, so don't apply if you want to breeze through college. It develops a rigorous work ethic in its students, and the faculty genuinely care about the students. It is also conservative, but not ridiculously so, therefore students will encounter more rules than at some other schools.

    Campus Safety

    Campus Safety does their job very well and makes sure that the campus stays safe for us. They keep the student body updated on security concerns so we know when to take extra safety precautions.
    Greek Life

    There is a Greek life on campus but they do not live in Greek specific housing. They have certain halls in the different residence halls where the majority of the sorority or fraternity members live.
    Clubs and Activities

    There are over 50 clubs and organizations on campus that one can join so there is something for everyone!

    GCC is great for any student who is looking to challenge themselves and grow as a person.

    One tradition is that when a couple gets engaged the fiance's friends take him to Wolfe Creek and throw him in. The fiancee also attends and she must bring a towel to the creeking.
    Bang for the buck

    GCC is definately worth the money that I am paying to go here. GCC is also one of the cheapest colleges when you look at the type of education you get here. The tuition for the year is approximately $23,000 which is much less than other private schools where you may not receive the same academic rigour.
    What to do for fun

    For fun I get together with friends and walk to town. I also enjoy going out to the quad and doing my homework there or playing a game of frisbee. IM sports are also great. There are also many different programs different clubs on-campus put on such as a monthly coffee houses that SGA does.
    Food and Dining

    GCC's food service is great. Bon Appetit does its best to create an appetizing menu. The only down side is that after a while the food choices do get repetitive but I do have to say that it's difficult to come up with 546 different meals for the year. However, there is always a variety at the six different stations.
    Dorm Life

    I have enjoyed the life on the residence halls a lot. It has a sense of community and some of my closest friends are people on my hall. I love my roommates and I have so much fun with them. The RA's also make sure that they plan lots of activities for the hall to do as a group which also helps build unity.
    Academic Rigor

    The classes are challenging but the professors are great. They will make the class worthwhile. While some of the work the professors assign may seem like busy work you will be surprised by what you learn from completing the assignment. These assignments are a great way to help you study too!
    Tips for prospective students

    GCC follows typical western PA weather so make sure to bring an umbrella and winter jacket for the fall. Be prepared to make great friends and meet awesome people! Get involved in the many clubs and IM sports that are offered to meet people and get a study break.

    GCC is an amazing school that really follows its mission statement. It has rigorous academics, active student life, and a strong Christian basis. The classes are great and will really challenge the student to think about what they believe.

    I hear the men get creeked after they've proposed...As a side note I also hear that marriage is strongly encouraged here.

    It's $23,000ish total. Not cheap. But for a private school actually pretty good. I'm trying to look at it as an investment that hopefully when I graduate I will be happy I completed college at Grove City.
    What to do for fun

    Study! Or walk around the cute little town, play games with friends or go to the outlet mall 20 minutes away.

    The food's great like everyone else is saying. Lots of variety but it's good quality food as well.
    Dorm Life

    Everyone on the halls is super close with one another. When I did an overnight visit the girl I stayed with hosted a fun little movie night with some other girls in the hall. I felt very welcomed!
    Academic Rigor

    All I can say is I hope I have some free time left! The professers are wonderful, but this is not a school where you can slack off.
    Tips for prospective students

    As others said, get the paperwork in early! It's a hassle. Make sure you do an overnight visit to see how you like the feel and fit of the school. One thing I know for sure is you either belong here or you don't. Don't come here if you're not a Christian or don't like to work hard.

    It's quaint and beautiful, academically rigorous and proud to call itself a Christian school. From what I hear, people work very hard but also have a lot of fun, and the close community can't be beat. God is first and foremost.
