Around Town

There is a rock climbing wall in the Wellness and Activities Center.There are so many social activities that you will have a hard time trying to decide which ones to go to.It's always nice to have so many options!

The college is located in the middle of a thriving city, so even on the off chance that you cannot think of a thing to do on campus (I feel like that will be rare) you can go into Conway and amuse yourself.

Play football and baseball but at Hendrix think I am going to checkout Ultimate Frisbee and Co-ed Softball, when I am not on the football field and class.

There are plenty of clubs, I found the Game Theory Club most interesting. Hendrix offers many sports and outlets on campus that leave little time for students to look anywhere else for entertainment.

People are really outdoorsy at Hendrix. Often I lounge around with my friends outside. There are benches and tables all around to hang out around. We love to go camping and hiking on the weekends. You can go out to Conway to get food or go to the movies or shopping, but you have to have a car to get anywhere for the most part.

There's almost always something going on on campus. I rarely feel the need to go off campus for entertainment.

Sports at Hendrix don't exist to any significant degree. Students make up for it by throwing parties and socializing in the dorms. Downtown Conway is a neat quiet place that many students use to get away from school and relax as well.

Campus is full of great opportunities. The school has a ton of social events including a foam party, toga, and ghost roast. It's a blast and it keeps the students safe and on campus. They also have the best orientation week I have ever heard of for freshman. It includes a weekend trips with a smaller group, pizza wars, and Playfair. Hendrix offers a variety of clubs to join, and even allows students to hold unofficial clubs on school grounds. Perhaps amongst the most unique is the Hendrix College Sword Club, who play with swords made out of duck-tape and PVC. It certainly draws a crowd, though opinions on them may vary. If that's not quite your thing, the Hendrix Lacrosse Team can offer a sports-alternative that may seem refreshing in an otherwise mostly-sports-empty college. Even interest groups such as Students for Black Culture or charity groups like Campus Kitty play a large role on the Hendrix campus. It's hard NOT to find something to do.

Hendrix College has something going on every night, and students never seem to get bored. Intramurals are very popular for students, or the many clubs and organizations Hendrix has on campus provide entertaining breaks from studies. Hendrix holds music nights almost every week, and students in a dorm will also get together to hold movie nights in the common room. There is an endless amount of things one is able to do at Hendrix!
