Movie nights are held about every weekend. They have trips into the city at least once a month. There are cultural festivals here, theatre shows, sports events, and Quidditch tournaments.

Going into NYC on the LIRR is an option. There are also bars right along the turnpike walking distance from dorms. There are alot of frat parties allover the neighborhoods outside of campus. On campus they have movie nights and shows performed b the drama department. There is always something to do.

There are so many clubs at Hofstra. From random to nationally-recognized. Also, Hofstra hosts music festivals, Quidditch tournaments, and has a gym with free classes for students.

lots of parties that go on around the Hofstra campus. There are also various bars/clubs that are on the turnpike (within walking distance) that let 18+ or 19+ in. Night shuttle that drops people off and picks them up.

There are many clubs, sororities and fraternities in the university to join. Also, some clubs, like the Entertainment Unlimited, have good opportunities to take students to museums, Broadway shows, ice skating and theaters in New York city.

If you're into working out, the gym is definitely a fantastic place. The swimming pool is also pretty decently kept, so there's an option. Honestly, if you don't have a car to get off campus/don't plan on taking the train to the city often, your best bet is to get involved with clubs so that you're doing things on an active basis. Otherwise, it's pretty easy to feel down about not having much fun.

I played sports at Hofstra, but those that aren't so fortunate as to be on a team, get involved in clubs, club sports and greek life.
