Houston Baptist University is a private Christian university and is therefore quite expensive. I don't think that it should cost as much as it does to go here, but if you come in as a Freshman they give GREAT scholarships! It is definitely manageable and overall it is a fantastic school.

If you keep up with your classes, and materials, yes it is definitely bang for your buck. But that is everywhere. There is the spiritual aspect of the school and it is amazing. Although it is a baptist univeristy, they do not force it upon anyone.

I personally think that if the school does not stress your major enough, like mine which is Mass Communication, then you may want to consider how you are spending your money. Residents basically pay for everything on campus, which I don't see this as being efficient because we have to pay for things like laundry, which is free on a public school campus. Money is just being spent in every aspect.
