» Read Morewas a skeptic about HVCC in the beginning. I really just wanted to get out of town and have that college experience. Well that cant be done cheaply unless your parents are divorced and in major debt or you have something really really really special about you like you are majorly smart. Im neither just average. My first year at hvcc was a surprise because as much as i wanted to hate it i ended up loving everything about it. Teachers were great classes were amazing and i really got to find out what i wanted to do with my life.
» Read MoreFirst off, I really wanted to write this review because of the stereotypes that go along with community colleges. Before I chose HVCC, and honestly for a little while after I started attending, I had a stereotype engrained in my head that community colleges were “dirty.” I had a fear that my education would be in jeopardy; I felt that I could receive a better education somewhere else. Looking back, I cannot believe how ignorant I was! The diverse students, the willing staff, the coffee shop in the campus center, the ice rink, the gym, the new parking garage are all fantastic parts of what make HVCC a great school. I could not be happier with my choice. I also don’t understand how I could get an educational experience like this for such a great price!
