Do not depend on the advisors/advising staff to plan your major. Have a plan, go in with questions and do not be afraid to contact them, it is what they are there for but review the catalog. Do not room with a friend, GO RANDOM, it makes life interesting and I had the two best random roommates my freshman and sophomore year. Get involved in extracurricular activities and clubs. Walk the quad, it is beautiful. GO SUPPORT OUR REDBIRD ATHLETICS!

Get involved! You will meet so many new people who are all eager to meet you. Be outgoing! People love friendly people so if you start a conversation you will most likely make a new friend. Study, study, study! It may seem obvious, but it is so important. Form relationships with your professors. They are there to help you and they want to get to know you. Take advantage of their office hours. Most, importantly, have fun! College is a time to find who you really are and what you enjoy. It's a time to make friends for life and pursue something you are passionate about.
