Around Town

Love running constitution trail, of course outside activities with friends and going out on the weekends.

Uptown normal is great for people under 21, and downtown normal is great for people 21 and up! Also, the entire town of bloomington- normal has so many restaurants to try that can occupy a lot of down time. Eastland Mall is a great place to shop and once again, joining on campus clubs and organizations really count for most of the fun!

You can always go to uptown for fun. You can sit in the circle, go get ice cream, or go shopping. You can also hang out on the quad and play games. There are many clubs that you can get involved in that do fun things. It's hard to be bored at ISU.

Join an RSO! I am apart of Deaf Redbirds Association and have met some of the greatest people and it has helped me with my sign skills and communication skills. Always a party somewhere if you are into that, and a sorority or frat.

There are tons of shops and restaurants around campus. My friends and I enjoyed visiting uptown normal for everything from shopping at Apricot Lane to experiencing new foods at The Rock, to grabbing a healthy smoothie at the nearest cafe. Campus at ISU is very diverse.

There is always something to do at ISU. The student body sets up different activities where they give away free hoodies, pj pants, and food in Up late at State, and ISU always has a big party atmosphere.

It depends on what you value, keep in mind it is a small town.

There are amazing place to eat all over the town of Normal, and the university always has something planned for the weekends, and they always turn out to be big hits!

The nightlife is great here at ISU. There is ALWAYS something going on, parties to go to, or campus events happening. Bars are a bus ride away, which is the only downside of nightlife here, but I can tell you from experience, it's better because you don't have to walk! The bus (which is like a party bus BTW, NOT run through ISU but through someone individually so drinking, and dancing is acceptable and encouraged) drops you off literally, RIGHT IN FRONT of the bars and will pick you up and drop you off right in front of your apt!

Join some fun extracurricular activities, go downtown bars and cafes, go bowling, or play billiards!!
