    What to do for fun

The college has a swimming pool, tennis courts, indoor walking track, disc golf course, basketball. In the student center there are also ping pong tables. There are also extracurricular organizations and clubs that you can get involved with depending on your interest.

    Food and Dining

In the Student Center there is a newly redesigned diner where you can purchase a hot meal. Also there are snack and drink machines. Being a community college the diner is not large. However, the college is located within 2-3 minutes of many fast food and fine dining restaurants.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms at Isothermal Community College so this question is not applicable.

    Academic Rigor

Some classes are easier than others and some present more of a challenge. This is dependent upon your own learning style and the instructors you have for the classes. However, I feel that I have learned much in all but two of the classes and those were ones that were required but I already know most of the information in those.

    Tips for prospective students

Take advantage of the helpful labs that are available with some classes. Take care of any business with the school in person...things just work out easier that way than on the phone or online. Exchange contact information with a couple of people in your classes so that you will be able to have information in case you miss a class and also so that you can find study partners.

    In three sentences

As at any college you will have professors you like more than others but also you will get out of the classes what effort that you put into them. Isothermal offers a wide variety of majors to support many different interests of the people in our community. An added benefit is that the campus is beautifully situated around a large lake and very well-maintained.

    Campus Safety

I feel very safe on campus I always see the campus security vehicles patrolling the campus and walking through buildings as well as the local police patrolling as well.

    What to do for fun

There are restaurants nearby to meet friends and enjoy a good meal, bowling, and a small movie theatre very close to the college.

    Food and Dining

There is one place to eat on campus ran by a local dinner called Ol' Blues BBQ.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms on campus.

    Academic Rigor

I give this four stars because it isn't as difficult as a large university however still is quality education and most all classes transfer into other schools.

    Tips for prospective students

If you want small class sizes and friendly instructors, this is the place for you. Living close is a necessity considering it is a community college unless you plans to buy near the area or rent close by.

Isothermal Community college is an excellent way to start the college education level experience. It provides quality education while still being small and simple (and for me) close to home to help with the high school to college transition. Isothermal was excellent for me and I am glad I attended, and now I can't wait to move on to a four-year university.
