Create an account now!The college is surrounded by tons of outdoor activities (including hiking, kayaking, caving, etc.), volunteer opportunities, a young downtown college scene (fun restaurants, clothing shops, a kid's museum, etc.), there's a theatre on campus that plays movies just out of theatres, and the Forbes performing arts center offers shows that have both students or visiting performers (plays, dance shows, musicals, musical performances). Basically if you want to do it, JMU has it.

Some clubs include greek life, societies for your major, fraternities for your major, habit for humanity, etc. There is also the Valley mall which has a few good stores in it for shopping on the weekends, movies available on and off campus and also downtown harrisonburg for somewhere fun to go on the weekends or for a special occasion.
» Read MoreThere is so much to do for fun, not including drinking or smoking. The people are so friendly that just taking a stroll on the quad would be an enjoyable activity. Everyone is willingly to make new friends, which means there is never a lonely or sad moment.
» Read MoreThere is so much to do for fun at JMU. We are only a 15 minute drive from Massanuttun which has skiing, snowboarding and ice skating as well as an indoor water park. On campus however we have late night breakfasts, comedians, concerts and so much more!
» Read MoreHarrisonburg isn't a very busy city, but it definitely is a college town. The downtown area has restaurants, bars, thrift shops, clubs, and much more. There are many restaurant chains and many stores very close to the school as well. There is a bowling alley, movie theaters (on and off campus), mini golf, mall, arboretum, and so much more.
