I know it's impossible to be unbiased about JMU as a student there, but I really do believe that JMU is the most underrated school in Virginia. The academics are overshadowed by its rival, Virginia Tech, who is rumored to be the better school but the academics at JMU are superb. Professors really care (for the most part; there are always exceptions to the rule), and a lot of them, from my experience, like to engage in discussions.     Attending JMU is probably the best decision a person can make in their lifetime, even if they don't believe so at that point in time. The people are friendly, open, welcoming, school-spirited, and, best of all, life-changing. Not to mention that our school motto is be the change.

From the very time I simply drove through it until now as a rising Senior, I've felt this feeling that I can't explain other than I know anyone would have the time of their life while gaining an invaluable education while attending.
