Campus Safety is fine. Its in a quite and quaint location. Restrooms are very clean and fresh.

    Clubs and Activities

Activities are limited to recreational and off campus events.

Great for these types of students

If smaller class sizes are better for you, you'll love this college. Great for self motivated and serious students. All courses can be taken online for convenience and/or on campus. You can alternate how you complete the courses.

The atmosphere is a family like setting among students and staff. It's very interpersonal and friendly.

    Bang for the buck

The tuition cost are some of the lowest in the state and very affordable. This is an accredited college and is growing . You will receive a quality education that can be utilized in Corporate America and/or an Entrepreneurial career.

    What to do for fun

The committee plans various events for fun and extra curricular activities like bowling, laser tag, boating, service learning events, chapel, etc. An Annual Cardboard Boat Race is held each Spring.

    Food and Dining

There are some restaurants in the neighborhood in walking distance and some deliver. There are snack and drink machines in the lounge, coffee, tea, and snacks in the Library.

    Dorm Life

There are a limited number of dorms suites that accomodates 4 students. All of the dorms are in walking distance of classes. There is a beautiful lakeview close to the dorms.

    Academic Rigor

Since it is a fast paced program, reading and homework assignments are due weekly. A final Summary Essay is due on week six as you start a new class the same week. So plan ahead and work on the final weekly. Ethics are taught extensively.

    Tips for prospective students

Be prepared to read a lot. It's a fast paced program that helps you to complete your degree in a short period of time. You will take a new class every 5 weeks. Small class sizes and accessible staff are great perks.

    In three sentences

This university is great for continuing education students who do not have a lot of time to manage a family and attending collegeat the same time. If you can attend 1 night a week with homework and complete a final summary essay every 6 weeks, you can do this program. It is very affordable and the staff is friendly and great!

    Campus Safety

We have a secure environment on campus complete with one of the school's counselors actually living on campus. Some of the staff and teachers also live on campus and they all keep on eye on the place.

    Clubs and Activities

Laurel University hosts Bible studies, has a Student Government Association, and are always doing some sort of activity like a movie night or game night.

Great for these types of students

Laurel University is great for Christians who are desiring a Godly education and are discouraged by huge universities. Laurel is a more intimate school and is great for those who want to feel like they are a part of a family.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Every year our school hosts a community Cardboard Boat Race Regatta where students and others are encouraged to build their own boats out of cardboard and race them across our lake. Judges judge the race and awards are given for most creative boat, first one to sink, winning the race, and more.

    Bang for the buck

While Laurel University is a private college and is more expensive than some colleges, I love the way the finance department works with you when it comes to payments. As long as you are regularly making payments you can pay on your own time schedule and don't have to pay upfront the full cost of tuition.

    What to do for fun

There are malls nearby, putt-putt golf courses, bowling alleys, movie theaters, skating rinks and more. The school itself also holds fun activities like hosting game nights or ice cream socials to get everyone together for fellowship and fun.

    Food and Dining

While the University doesn't offer a food plan, they do have meals offered by Cross Roads at times and also roommates work together on meals.

    Dorm Life

Laurel University offers a unique on-campus experience where apartment living is offered and since it is small, everyone gets to know one another. It's like a family. People are always getting together and doing things in the apartment.

    Academic Rigor

Laurel University holds its students to a level of excellence and trains them to use the skills they learn in the job world of today.

    Tips for prospective students

Those desiring to come to Laurel should check out the school's website and meet with a counselor prior to attending to find out what the school offers. Setting up a payment plan is also a great step to take to help with financial needs.

    In three sentences

Laurel University is a Christian University skilled in training modern Christians to live out the Word in today's society. It is a small school dedicated to each student's needs. The staff are so pleasant and are always willing to work with you.

    What to do for fun

Depends on what you're into. We have the cardboard boat race every year, putt putt, movie nights, just hanging out in general.

    Food and Dining

This is the only downfall, there is no cafeteria.

    Dorm Life

I have made great life long friends living on campus and believe we have learned a lot from one another.

    Academic Rigor

I would give the academics 4 stars because I have seen so much growth and adaptation to fit the students desires when it comes to education.

    Tips for prospective students

Prayerfully consider coming to this school and allow the Lord to guide you in all that you do; living as such you'll never regret.

Laurel University upholds the standards of Christian integrity which was the most important factor to me when applying for college. The atmosphere is filled with love and you feel welcome within the small community of believers from various backgrounds. I chose Laurel because I know in my heart that it was God's desire for me to attend and be built up in my most holy faith.
