Categories Comments Great for these types of students johnson bible college is a great school for those who like smaller classrooms, one on one time with the teachers, and a place where almost every face is familiar. also, johnson bible college does a spectacular job with its preaching program, so if preaching is your call for the future, johnson bible college is the place for you.
Tips for prospective students try and be sociable the first two months of college, even if it pushes you out of your comfort zone. be sure to fill out all of your paperwork and work study application documents before you arrive on campus. it makes life a lot easier once you are there and it provides more assurance that you will have a job on campus.
Bang for the buck johnson bible college is the cheapest private college in tennessee. however, just because the price is lower, the standards for education are not. the classes are great, the dorm rooms are spacious and the food is scrumptious.
Am enjoying being here The campus is beautiful and spacious. More importantly however, is that the people are kind. Everybody is extremely friendly and helps one another out. As far as I know there is no drama in the dorms, but if there is, you always have someone who will lend a listening ear and a helping hand. The teachers go out of their way to make sure that you are doing well both academically and wherever else you might need assistance.
Academic Rigor in every class that i have attended thus far, i have learned something new. each teacher does his/her best to encompass and utilize each of the different learning styles in his/her classroom and connect the subject to other classes.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Great for students who want to dedicate their lives to the ministry of God. The preaching major is the focus of the school, but all the other areas are amazing and top of the line. It's a smaller campus that's at least 15 minutes away from everything, but the view is spectacular and the campus immaculate. As long as you don't mind knowing almost everyone on campus and a reasonable work load, this school is a great match for you!
Tips for prospective students Just be sure to be open. You may not be a very sociable person, but be open enough to let people approach you and you'll find yourself surrounded by people who love you and are there to support you. Also, though the teachers are very nice and understanding they do give a nice amount of homework. As long as you keep up with the work they give you and find help when you're struggling you'll be all good!
Bang for the buck For the quality of living and classes given, the University should charge much more than it does, but because it continues to receive ample amounts of money from generous alumni and University friends they are able to keep the prices quite low. And if a student is having a hard time paying they work with you to afford it.
Am enjoying being here The campus is beautiful year round, the people are all very nice and sociable. It really feels like the student body is a giant family; though everyone has a close center of friends, everyone is open to everyone and you really never feel alone. The teachers are personable and easy to talk to as well. Very nice.
Am learning a lot The classes are interesting and though they teach a lot, they still provide room for your own ideals and beliefs. The lectures are always full of information that is not only nice to know for the tests and quizzes, but very good for learning how to put class curriculum into real world ministry, or give you ideas for teaching or sermons.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students It is great for those who are looking to become a preacher. I know many who have graduated from Johnson and are fine preachers.
Tips for prospective students Yes this college is a Bible college, but it also has a music program and teacher education program, of which I am enrolled in. The dorm life is awesome, separate dorm buildings of course.
Bang for the buck The college is great for me because I happen to be an international student. They supply an awesome scholarship for us and also there is a presidents scholarship that can be given to anyone. The college is definitely cost affordable.
Am enjoying being here The whole atmosphere of the college is just wonderful. The buildings have all the same architectural details but the brick and white pillars are just very romantic. It is a beautiful college, we won an award for it!
Am learning a lot The professors are extremely nice and will help you out, no problem!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Johnson is outside, so the campus is quiet and safe. There are regular security sweeps, and gates close at nine. Most professors and students live on the small campus, so you are sure to know your neighbors. I have no fear of walking alone at night, or even of meeting questionable strangers.
Great for these types of students Those who like a personal touch.
Bang for the buck The best. Period. The tutition is low, there are tons of scholarships available, and the quality of education is high. I don't know of another place like it.
What to do for fun Smokey Mountain National Park, Dollywood, dollar theater, downtown, Greek Festival, Indian food.
Food and Dining The cafeteria has a lot of options, and works hard at mixing it up so you don't get bored. My one complaint was the lack of healthy food. I know fresh, unprocessed food is difficult to provide in a cafeteria, so A for effort, but still not quite what I would wish for. Who knows, maybe they try and none of the kids will eat it!
Dorm Life The dorms are great, spacious, clean, and light. My one complaint was the tiny kitchens- the size of a closet, and one to a whole floor! I loved having a bathroom in the room, and only one roommate. RAs are generally very helpful, and a lot of effort is made to include and invite everyone in hall activities.
Academic Rigor Johnson had many difficult classes, and a few easy ones. Like all colleges (I suppose), there were some required blow-off classes that I found annoying, but I have to admit that even in those I learned some things and had a good time. The academic standards are excellent, particularly in the areas of Bible,Teacher Education, and missions/international work.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of all the help and guidance that are offered, and make friends with staff and professors. People at Johnson really care about students and are really willing to go the extra mile to help you out! Also, there is tutoring and counseling available, both, I believe, for free. Don't fail a class because you skipped too many days or decided not to write a paper. If you are homesick, having problems with your roommate, or have things in your past you need to address, go to the counseling center. There's a whole army of people eager to make sure you succeed.
In three sentences A really fantastic place, and a great experience for me.

Categories Comments Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Whenever a couple wants to become official they have to go walk around the pond 3 times.
Food and Dining The cafeteria food can be iffy sometimes but the grill serves great food! The servings are kinda small in the grill, though.
Dorm Life Great fun is always had in the dorms! whether it just be hanging out, watching a movie, or having a party, we always have a blast!
Academic Rigor Teachers expect you to work hard in the class and the student's grades will reflect the effort put in. The grading scale is very difficult.
In three sentences Great college with teachers and faculty that actually care about you. Located right outside the Smokey Mountains it is a beautiful campus and is very well maintained. Awesome place to connect with people and further your education.

Greek Life No drinking school.
Clubs and Activities Many different clubs and activities are offered.
Great for these types of students This campus is great for friendly people!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus and school in itself is small, so there are many traditions that take place over the year.
Bang for the buck Academics are wonderful. Rooming is great. Overall a great price.
What to do for fun Johnson is located in the mountains of Tennessee, so there is a lot to do! A lot of students spend time in the mountains hiking and in the water.
Food and Dining Food is okay. The only thing bad is that there are specific times of the day that the cafeteria is open.
Dorm Life Dorm life it wonderful, students really get to know each other. The rooms are spacious with a personal bathroom and closet. Clean and neatly organized rooming arrangements also.
Academic Rigor The classes are challenging. However, the grading scale can be frustrating, but they only want their students to aim high!
Tips for prospective students Make sure as a prospective student you mentally prepare for a willing and able work ethic. The teachers are great, but they are not simple courses.
In three sentences Johnson in an incredible school that offers an loving and encouraging environment. The small size allows for great relationships with both teachers and students. The campus is beautiful, and that makes it even more wonderful to be at.

Categories Comments Campus Safety 24/7 Campus patrol. No one gets in or out without passing the guard hut.
Greek Life No Greek life.
Clubs and Activities Intramural sports are a must Johnson. The main school associated sports are not very good.
Great for these types of students Students seeking to further Christian Education and students who love building friendships and having a good time.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus In the very back of the campus is a trail that leads through a forest and eventually opens up to a lake.
Bang for the buck For what you pay for Johnson you defintiely get your money's worth. It still expensive like every college but you get what you pay for.
What to do for fun Long boarding. Cliff diving. Rock climbing. Going to down town Knoxville. Seeing a movie. Going out to eat at all the fine restaurants.
Food and Dining The food is not always the best but sometimes its great. Definitely beats high school cafeteria food every-time though.
Dorm Life Dorm life is great. The dorm rooms are big, comparable to a hotel room.
Academic Rigor Academics are great, and the professors really inspire to teach the students.
Tips for prospective students Don't spend a lot of your meal tickets eating at the grill. Always make sure to check your student email. Make sure to turn all assignments in on time, ecspecially the ones submitted online.
In three sentences Great School with a great atmosphere. Campus life is absolutely great and the dorm rooms are top nautch. The professors actually care about you and sometimes can feel like your best friend.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Key-Fobs to get in everywhere and security at the gate!
Greek Life Although there is none, we do a lot of stuff as a hall
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Once nick-named Johnson Bridal College due to the large amounts of students seeking christian marriage partners!
What to do for fun No class on Mondays!! There's a lot of extra-curricular activities! Including Student Government and Missions!
Food and Dining Fantastic mean plan options and amazing food! It's like a buffet everyday! Salads, make-your-own, pizza, ice cream, desserts, and even Cold-Stone on Fridays!
Dorm Life The dorms are clean and roomie! Private bathrooms and air conditioning units! It's carpeted with stackable furniture and plenty of room for two beds, two large study desks, two dressers, closest space, shower, toilet, sink, and even a couch!
Academic Rigor All of the professors are knowledgeable about their field! All of my professors and advisors were from different parts of the field- a lot to choose from!
Tips for prospective students Try your best to participate in all of the student activities! It's a great way to get to know people!
In three sentences Johnson has a fantastic atmosphere! All the faculty is willing to help, all the students are creative, welcoming, friendly, and kind! Our campus, along with our dorms are better than any other colleges I've checked out!

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are security and police on campus that patrol all throughout the night. There are almost no thefts and you can leave your stuff and know that nobody is going to mess with it.
Great for these types of students Great for people wanting to go into any ministry or missions role.
Bang for the buck Teachers here really know what they are talking about and provide very good learning environments. I've never heard of anyone being dissatisfied with their learning here, unless they did not attend classes.
What to do for fun The college is located just outside of Knoxville, TN and is close to the Smokies. There are so many things to do including going downtown; hanging out in the Student Activity center and playing pool; or just going to the mall which isn't too far away. Great location and lots of things to do.
Food and Dining The cafeteria food could be better, but there is also a grill in the activity center. If you don't like what's there, the school has exchange meals you can use at the grill.
Dorm Life There is lots of breathing space in the dorms. Everything is up-to-date and the rules are very easy to follow. Everyone is expected to keep their rooms sanitary and there are weekly checks, but they aren't hard to pass.
Academic Rigor The work in classes will be a lot more than high school. You cannot skip out on lots of classes because this school expects you to attend classes to get your moneys worth. Very studious, but at the same time the classes are smaller and you get time in with professors.
Tips for prospective students The focus of this college is learning, and building relationships with people and Christ. Get involved and do not skip out on classes for it will result in failure. This school takes student attendance very seriously.
In three sentences This college's focus is definitely on student learning and God. It is a wonderful community and body of students. Coming here means assured learning, and a great starting point for your career.

Categories Comments Greek Life Nonexistent.
Bang for the buck Johnson provides a solid education for a great cost.
What to do for fun The city of Knoxville is only 20 minutes away. Beyond that, Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge is 30-40 minutes away. We are not far from the Smokey Mtns.
Food and Dining Not bad; not amazing.
Dorm Life There is incredible community at Johnson.
Academic Rigor Like I said: The level of academic rigor varies from professor to professor.
Tips for prospective students Be responsible. Do not treat Johnson as a 4-year-long church camp.
In three sentences Johnson is a fantastic environment in which the professors care for their students. The level of academic rigor varies from professor to professor. Nonetheless, it comes highly recommended from myself and the majority of alumni.
