Categories Comments What to do for fun There are a number of things close by to do in between classes. Like going to Carolina Premium Outlets to shop, WalMart, or going for a run on the Greenway trail. HealthQuest and SRAC are good places to work out at if you have a membership.
Food and Dining The cafe grill is pretty good, the prices are reasonable, and there is a decent selection of food choices.
Dorm Life There are no dorms.
Academic Rigor The academics are pretty true to the expected difficulty level of class that you are in. And the instructors are good at expecting you to know the level you are to be learning at.
Tips for prospective students Know what you want to take, and have a good idea of the classes that you need to take. Don't always listen to the suggestions the staff give you, because some of them contradict the other staff members.
In three sentences Overall good college, but a lot of the employees have trouble knowing everything that their job entails.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Small and local, security enforcement is present and available, though in two years there has never been a need for them beyond fender benders in the parking lot.
Clubs and Activities General clubs offered, many teachers are willing to supervise interest groups.
Great for these types of students Students who are undecided on a major, who do not qualify for pell grants or other extensive college funding. It is a great way to save and make money.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are geese that will cuddle with you if you sit by the fountain, although Ive never allowed it.
Bang for the buck The price of community college is generally its seller. A 12 hour course load, with books, costs somewhere around $2,000. Due to the ease and compatibility of my courses, as well as the various job opportunities (local mall and restaurant hub), I was able to work 3 jobs, maintain straight A's, and save a ton of money in my two years there (in income, not counting what I saved in tuition).
What to do for fun It is a community college, so there isn't a scene. The campus is homey, so there are comfort and friends to be easily made. With the compatibility of courses and their levity, one can work much more than a university student. This resulted in a healthy savings account for me at age 20 that is financing much of my university transfer.
Food and Dining On campus there is coffee lounge and cafeteria, as well as an extensive variety of vending machines. Located within a half mile are 15 or more restaurants of various export.
Academic Rigor I took 12 hours a semester, while working three jobs. As it is a community college, the courses are General Education, and therefore much information is familiar. Class size is small however, so there is a positive pressure to produce.
Tips for prospective students As a general rule, the earlier you register the better. You are here to transfer and take general ed courses, so the registration is quite formulaic. If transferring, this means that the majority of the school's population are in the same program as you, therefore vying for the same courses. I have never had a problem acquiring a class, but the compatibility of your schedule or intended course combination for a particular semester could be thwarted.
In three sentences The school and program catalog have really matured and expanded with the growing number of high school graduates choosing community colleges in the area. Classes, resources, and information are wonderfully accessible and presented intuitively. All aspects of the college are easily maneuverable, making it a palatable and stress-free next step.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The Johnston County Sheriff's office is just up the road, and city police are always patrolling the campus to ensure safety. The police are there for safety and have never given me a ticket.
Greek Life No Greek presence.
Clubs and Activities The Standard SGA and student ambassadorships are available.
Great for these types of students Financial need and undecided students will find this a good stepping stone.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Ducks and Geese dominate the campus, get too close and they will chase you.
Bang for the buck Financial aid will cover the majority of expenses.
What to do for fun Hang out with friends in the new library.
Food and Dining A cafeteria on campus that has alright food. Various fast food and restaurants in town just a 5 minute drive away.
Dorm Life No dorms available.
Academic Rigor Flexible and understanding teachers that will challenge you, but office hours are always available for personal one on one tutoring.
Tips for prospective students The typical community college that offers undecided and financially disadvantaged students a great stepping stone to a 4-year university.
In three sentences A rural community college for a rural community. Great technical and job training opportunities. A stepping stone to bigger and better schools, and staff that will help you get there.

Food and Dining There is a variety at the grill but it is only open for breakfast and lunch.
Dorm Life There are no dorms on campus.
Tips for prospective students If you are serious in going to college, this is the best place to start. The teachers are willing to work with students who are there to succeed so ask for help.
In three sentences This school is for students looking to further their education with teachers who care about their students succeeding. These business program is vigorous making sure that the students going into this field are the best for it. The class size is small leaving you with new friends by the end of the semester.
