Around Town

Hanging out with friends is very common... there isn't much to do in Huntingdon. State College and Altoona aren't too far away though.

we always have performances and events going on in the rosenburg auditorium. there is a cozy little cafe a few blocks outside of campus with great coffee. lots of sports events year around. and there is always weekend partying.

Although it is located in a very small city there are things you can do. Being around mountain ranges, it is a very beautiful aria, two common destinations for students within walking distance are The cliffs and The peace chapel. A little farther of a walk, the city also has a movie theater, coffee shop, a few restaurants and a sheetz! Juniata itself hires entertainers and plans many events throughout the semester to keep its students occupied.

Huntingdon is a small town, but there are still things there. The Juniata river and Lake Raystown are very close. Also, there are movie theaters, restaurants, and shops in Huntingdon.

Numerous events on campus, movies, bowling, go to Altoona/State College (45 min car ride away)

You can sign up for a club for just about anything. Then of course there are parties every weekend.

There are a lot of nature areas nearby such as the lake, the Cliffs (which is just a 10 minute walk away), or the river. If you aren't such a huge fan of nature, there are tons of clubs to sign up for and participate in. There are club and sports activities going on all the time. Every weekend, Juniata has some kind of event to bring students together.

On Saturdays a student could head over to East for a party. There are unlimited other options though. Hikes to the cliffs, movie nights, many clubs, just hanging out with friends. There is never just one thing to do.

Huntingdon is a small community, there really is not much to do off campus. On campus, there are a plethora of student clubs and organizations.

If you enjoy doing outdoor activities, such as hiking and boating, then you will have no problem finding fun things to do. There are hiking trails minutes from the campus, and Lake Raystown is nearby for when the weather is nice. If you are not a big fan of the outdoors however, then you might not be able to find many things to do because Huntingdon is a fairly small town.
