Food and Dining the food at kent ashtabula is delicious.
Dorm Life there are no dorms at this college campus. plus, i live very close to campus, therefore i would not have to dorm.
Academic Rigor i feel that kent state has a fairly reasonable academic criteria. i feel somewhat challenged, but not over-whelmed.
Tips for prospective students i am in the kent state pseo program and feel that i am getting a good education. going to kent as a high school student intimidated me at first, but i feel very welcome and at ease.
In three sentences kent state is a non-traditional, diverse school. it has a great nursing program and is very close to home. college credits transfer almost anywhere.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I never feel threatened at this campus at any time. I feel extremely safe at all times because i have never heard or seen much (if any) crime here.
Greek Life I am in no Greek life here on campus and not sure there is one in this area.
Clubs and Activities I have only heard of the clubs on campus and although excellent I do not currently partake in them.
Great for these types of students Any student that enjoys small classes with opportunity to get one on one time if needed with the teachers and staff. Also any student that is low on money and cant afford to go to a big college campus.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The gym is definitely an unusual location to have on campus. Although it is very nice to have a place to let energy off by shooting baskets or have somewhere to stretch your legs during the day.
Bang for the buck For the money you pay I think that you get what you pay for. As i said before the staff is excellent and always willing to help and the classes are challenging but fulfilling.
What to do for fun For fun I like to play basketball in the gym at the Kent Ashtabula main building gym or outside when its nice. I also volunteer my time to the marching band season to help out any way i can. I also like to go to the movies to see new films that come out.
Food and Dining The food in the commons is home cooked and always available to eat during the day. The staff is extremely friendly and they always have a large menu to make your food selection from.
Dorm Life I commute from home so I have not experienced dorm life here.
Academic Rigor The classes here are challenging but make you think in a way you normally wouldn't. The teachers are always willing to help and though material is tough they make it clear so you are able to understand difficult topics.
Tips for prospective students Take any opportunity to take classes here because the teachers are experts in their fields and always willing to help. Also keep your costs down for school by going to a branch, its less expensive and gives you the same degree!
In three sentences Kent State University Ashtabula is a small but very friendly and knowledgeable place to attend. The staff has high expertise in their field, and since class sizes are small there is always room to ask questions. Professors are always available to talk to and get advice from, its a real joy to attend here.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Pretty safe, never heard of/had an incident the entire time I've attended, or while any of my peers have attended.
Clubs and Activities Really lacking on the activites side, but they do have lots of major-specific clubs.
Great for these types of students Great for people living in Ashtabula County, or for students trying to get the fundamental classes for a lower price before switching to a more expensive college. I think this campus adheres well to single parents such as myself.
Bang for the buck Its quite an affordable establishment.
What to do for fun A short drive (or stroll) from the Walnut Beach you can enjoy the wonderful view of Lake Erie! If that doesn't peak your interest there is the Harbor-Topaky Library, which is jam packed full of really awesome books.
Food and Dining There are many places to eat around Ashtabula Campus and locations that are not too far from campus, but I'll forever love Loretta's! It's located inside the cafe.
Dorm Life Unfortunately there is no On-Campus option at Kent State University Ashtabula Campus. However, the Ashtabula Harbor is a pleasant, well kept part of Ashtabula.
Academic Rigor Depending on what professor you will have will change how much work you have, how difficult it is, and whether or not you are capable of managing the academic work load. Out of all the teachers I have had, the easiest was a 4/5 on my work load but it also depends on your major and your ability to handle stress.
Tips for prospective students I would say listen to previous students on what teachers are the most interesting, peer review is usually the most accurate. However, don't rely entirely upon it as one professor's teaching style may work for your peer but might not work for you.
In three sentences I dislike the size of our gym and hate that there are certain majors you can't finish at this regional institute. However, I love our cafe (the commons) and the food that is offered; our Health and Science building is amazing and so are the re-done structures within the main building.
