    Campus Safety

To enter the building you need a badge or you need to go through security to get a visitors pass.

Great for these types of students

Great for students that are not wanting the typical college experience. Most students go to class and then live lives outside of college.

    Bang for the buck

Lancaster General College is not overly expensive, but just like any college it is not cheap. You do get an excellent education though, so it is well worth it. Plus, the financial aid office will work with you.

    What to do for fun

The school has some random pizza parties or cookouts or giveaways for students.

    Food and Dining

The school does not have a large cafeteria. There are some vending machines, refrigerators and microwaves. However, if you want an actual meal, most students walk to the hospital which is about two blocks away and eats at their cafeteria or one of their restaurants.

    Dorm Life

There are nearby apartments that you can rent, but there are not any dorms. Most students live in Lancaster County and seem to commute.

    Academic Rigor

Nursing school is not easy, but it is well worth it. You have to out alot of work into it, but what you get out is much better.

    Tips for prospective students

Always try your hardest because you will only get out of it what you put in. Read materials before class, come prepared, and study hard; this is not high school, you have to work hard to get your degree. Don't be afraid to ask questions, the staff there are really nice and always willing to help you.

    In three sentences

Lancaster General College has everything that I want to get out of college. The teachers are great at working with you and keeping topics interesting to your future. My schedule is flexible and it is not too hard to complete.

Great for these types of students

This college will be great for students looking to work in the medical field. I have chosen to apply to this college because I know that they have an excellent nursing program and even offer a bachelor degree now.

    Tips for prospective students

I believe this college is excellent for students looking at getting a degree in nursing and I really hope that I will have this opportunity to experience it first hand.

    Bang for the buck

It is not that expensive but is still enough that I need to search for scholarships in order to cover the cost of the tuition, etc.

    Will enjoy being here

I will greatly enjoy this college because I heard that it is an excellent place to be. It is very close to my home and I will be able to commute to it everyday.

    Will learn a lot

I believe that I will definitely learn a lot in this college. I have heard that this college is great and has a very high percentage of students pass the exam they have to take in order to receive a certificate.

    What to do for fun

There are a lot of things to do for fun in the area. Shopping (2 outlet malls), Strasburg Railroad, Hershey Park, Sight & Sound, and American Music Theatre etc.

    Food and Dining

There are some local eateries but the more well known chains are located outside of the city.

    Academic Rigor

Classes are challenging. There is a need to take what is taught and apply it to clinicals.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply for as many scholarships and grants that you can early on.

    In three sentences

The classes have a small teacher to student ratio. The teachers make the classes fun and interesting.
