    Food and Dining

Landmark offers a various selection of food from salad bars to sizzling grilled hamburgers.

    Dorm Life

In the first year, students are paired in a dorm and I think it's great because they can both become friends.

    Academic Rigor

Landmark focuses on their students' stregnths and add on to their academic abilities.

    Tips for prospective students

It doesn't matter if you can't read or write good because nothing should stop you from being you.

    In three sentences

I'd be a great experience for people with learning disabilities to be able to attend Landmark College. People wouldn't feel like they're alone because they have a disability. Honestly, everyone is unique by being who they are.

Take advantage of the ALL the support systems available! The college offers so many and definately use them early and do not wait till there's a problem or you've missed deadlines.

    In three sentences

It's a great school, with a fun environment. Small student body and small campus. Has great supports that I would not be able to survive yet without.

    In three sentences

One word Terrible stay away from this place! the campus is small only a handful of teachers are helpful and the president and asst dean are power hungry egomaniacs and will lie to you about their and the schools intent. If you want to go on a $50,000 vacation you then landmark college in Putney Vermont is for you cause you wont get a education there!

    Campus Safety

They have great security officers that are really willing to put themselves out there to help and make sure everyone is safe. They are wonderful people, very nice and protective.

    Clubs and Activities

Tons!!! They have clubs for alot of unusual and different things. They have Anime club, Gaming, Campus Activities, Student Gov, Walking/Hiking, and Rock-climbing club.

Great for these types of students

Landmark is great for students with Learning disabilities who have struggled through school and haven't had much luck in other colleges. It's a school for students with LD's who were told they would never make anything of themselves in school. Landmark helps you realize your potential as a student who has difficulty learning in the mainstream way.

    What to do for fun

There is a lot to do for fun if you go looking for it. There is a old movie theater, its vintage and is a really cool place to go it's called the Latchis Theater. There are tons of fantastic reastaurants even a fantastic sushi place called Shin La's. There is a bowling alley and JD's spirits. Don't forget pumpkin fest in october, which you shouldn't miss.

    Food and Dining

The food may not be five star in the dinning hall, but the cafe court has alot of late nite options.

    Dorm Life

Having A good place to stay is important. The community is filled with unique individuals who are looking for ways to be social.

    Academic Rigor

Just because the classes are meant to help students with disabilities that does not mean the course work is dulled down or easier. It's like any other college you have to work hard for your grades.

    Tips for prospective students

If you have a Learning Disability this school can really help you. You have to be ready, if your not wait until you are ready. It's a great place to help you learn and get a degree.

    In three sentences

A place to change your life. As long as you are ready on your own to take the next step in education. Any where you go you have to work hard and be ready to achieve a great education.

    Campus Safety

There is very little crime on campus, and the security staff is amazing. Everyone is very respectful and professional. The RA's and RD's are also very much on top of a lot of what is going on.

    Greek Life

    none

    Clubs and Activities

While the school and clubs try their best to keep things entertaining, you are stuck in the middle of no-where. The closest town is so small it doesn't have a traffic light if you're like me and don't have a car on campus life can be kind of boring. It does give you a lot of time to do homework. When it snow things get really interesting with people making snow men and skiing down the hill that divides the campus in half.

Great for these types of students

Students with Learning Differences that haven't been as successful at other schools Mature Students who have just graduated High School Anybody with a LD

    Bang for the buck

As a school that was created for students who learn differently Landmark has a lot of different things that you typically won't see at other schools of similar size. We have a lot of support services including Academic Coaching, Advisors, Drake Center for Academic Support (DCAS, or tutoring center) in which all staff is an actual Professor, a huge library, a dedicated Counseling staff, and a lot more. This all put together makes Landmark one of the most expensive schools in the country, however you are paying for all that support and if you try your best you will succeed.

    What to do for fun

You're in Vermont so you best be ready for a long winter. There is a lot of great skiing/snowboarding in the area as well as hiking, boating, fishing etc. There is a pub right off campus that is a local hang out and the service and the food is both really good. I highly suggest you bring a car if you have one because getting off campus is really important.

    Food and Dining

A lot of the food is made from scratch and is really good. There is also a Cafe Court on campus and is extremely good. A lot of the food is locally grown so it's fresh when we get it.

    Dorm Life

Most halls are very clean and nice. Some of the buildings are nicer than others but all of them are well maintained and clean.

    Academic Rigor

All students must take a First Year class which is supposed to teach you about how you learn. It helps most students in some way but for me it was a waste of time and credits. Most other classes are much harder, but all professors I have had are very accommodating when it comes their office hours and assignments

    Tips for prospective students

TAKE IT SERIOUSLY, this school is a lot of money and if you want to go to school to goof off then do not go here. Try to join clubs as soon as possible because Landmark is in the middle of no where so making friends is very important. Also don't worry about what you think others will think about you going to a Special School because its a school like any other. You get homework, you go to class, you do projects, the only main difference between Landmark and other schools is that Landmark will give you tools to help you succeed at school.

    In three sentences

If you are a student with a LD then you should look at Landmark. It was the first College in the nation to cater only to students with Learning Disabilities and it has become a very close Community. It's a small campus in a very rural area, but there is shuttles off campus Tuesday-Sunday as well as different trips to some really fun places including Ski Resorts, Malls, Wal-Mart, Keene NH, and to many other places to list
