Prestigious but expensive. Getting your money's worth depends on which department you're in. The LU conservatory is widely celebrated, and the psychology , biology, and chemistry departments are strong. The only major that is an absolute waste at Lawrence is art - the program is tiny and terrible.

There are times where Lawrence feels claustrophobic (we make the joke of being trapped in the Lawrence bubble), but you definitely do feel the sense of community here. And at the end of the day you can always complain to fellow Lawrentians about what you do and don't like, and usually you can come to LUCC (Lawrence University Community Council) which is our student government and try and fix it.

The price is steep but the pay off has been fantastic so far. I can't really comment on life after graduation, but the academics, opportunities, and networking options are superb. I can't imagine myself going anywhere else anymore.

Even though Lawrence is a bit pricey, it is definitely worth it considering the education you will receive and the type of atmosphere you will be introduced to. To help counteract the high cost, Lawrence is very generous in their Financial Aid and give as much as possible to each and every person.
