Great for these types of students

Lee is definitely a Christian college, and although one will find both Christians and those with other beliefs there, students with Christian values would generally enjoy Lee more than others. For example, students are required to attend chapel each week and to take several Bible classes, and Lee prohibits activities such as alcohol, drugs and premarital sex. For those with Christian values, however, most students should not find the rules particularly unreasonable. Even though Lee is affiliated with the Church of God, all denominations are welcome, and students will encounter a variety of specific beliefs. Lee is also great for students who want to attend a fairly small Christian college but to still have many opportunities during college.

    Tips for prospective students

    1. If you apply early enough and send in a housing deposit, you can into one of the nicer dorms, even as a freshman. You can apply in the summer before your senior year. Dorm descriptions are on the website. 2. Some people feel as if there is not a lot to do on campus, but you can find plenty of activities in which to get involved. 3. Prospective students should be aware that freshmen have a curfew of midnight during the week and one a.m. one the weekend.

    Bang for the buck

Lee is very reasonably priced for a private college. It costs roughly $17,000 per year, and they offer automatic scholarships for freshmen with high SAT/ACT scores, in addition to other college-sponsored scholarships.

    Am enjoying being here

Lee offers activities for all sorts of students. Those who enjoy sports can play on intramural teams. Those who love music can try out for one of the many choirs and bands, even if they are not music majors. The Student Leadership Council is a great way to meet people and get involved on campus. In addition, there are numerous other clubs in which to get involved. Lee also offers many short study-abroad opportunity. The students at Lee are great! Most are very friendly and accepting, and I can feel a sense of community on campus.

    Am learning a lot

In general, classes are challenging but not too overwhelming. Lee offers a variety of classes so that students can study subjects that really interest them.

Great for these types of students

Lee is great for Christian students and non-Christians as well. If you want to go to a college where you will not have to worry about peer pressure to drink, smoke, or do other things you do not want to do, Lee is a great place. For Christians, your relationship with God really becomes defined by you and not you parents or other figures in your life during this period of your life; Lee helps you with this. An incredible emphasis is placed on the spiritual lives of students. For non-Christians, you, too, will be challenged spiritually. Honestly, Lee is a great place for everyone because it provides a place for everyone and has a really nice, Christian, and accepting atmosphere.

    Tips for prospective students

First, if you attend Lee, get involved. I promise you can find something on this campus to do. Do not sit around in your dorm room while you can be out having fun and making friends. Second, take the ACT/SAT as many times as you can to get your highest score. Lee offers some great scholarships if your scores are high enough. The rest of these are not really tips, but just things you need to know. You should know that you will have to sign the community covenant which says you will not drink, participate in premarital or extramarital sex, etc. You should know that freshman have a curfew of midnight through the week and 1 AM on the weekends, but everyone must be in by 3 AM or they are considered out all night and recieve accountablity hours. You should also know that chapel is required. Christian or not, you must attend 70% of chapel services. There are some exceptions for students who are married, are working, or have any other special circumstances. Also, study abroad is required of every Lee student. They do this so that students have a better understanding of other cultures and things of that nature. Also, 80 community service hours are required before you graduate. Along with that, everyone at Lee must minor in Bible. The community service hours count as a part of your Bible minor.

    Bang for the buck

Lee is actually really cheap for being a private, Christian liberal arts university. Lee really does take pride in the low tuition cost. You really do get a great education for a low cost. As far as the quality of education goes, Lee ranks as a Top Tier University in the South for the US News and World Report. It is also listed as one of 68 Up and Coming Universities in America. Also, in Princeton Review’s “Best Colleges,” Lee is ranked as one of the best colleges in the Southeastern United States. We are also on the President's Honor Roll for Community Service. Our Study Abroad program is also very highly ranked. Honestly, with all of these credentials, Lee really does offer a great bang for the buck.

    Am enjoying being here

I absolutely love this campus! The Christian atmosphere is amazing. Everyone is incredibly friendly and will even share their umbrella with you during one of Cleveland's rainy days. Always expect to walk around and hear people singing and singing well. (We are known for our School of Music.) Also, the campus is gorgeous! Physical Plant works really hard to keep it clean and keep the landscaping looking nice. I also find that Chapel services are great; it is awesome to come together and worship with people your own age. When it comes to extracurricular activities, there is really something for everyone on this campus including academic clubs, sports, choirs, Greek clubs, social service clubs, Student Leadership Council, Small Groups, etc. Dorm life is really awesome as well. The residential life staff do a really good job of creating a community in the dorms which allows the residents to have fun and grow together. There is also a lot of diversity on this campus. Lee has a ton of international students from countries such as Nigeria, Nepal, the Bahamas, Jamaica, etc.

    Am learning a lot

I can honestly say that I have learned a lot while being here. The professors are, for the most part, very friendly, Christian people who would do anything to help their students learn. I find that if my professors are in their office, I can just walk in and ask for help no matter the time. These professors are also extremely qualified for their jobs; they really are experts in their fields. For the most part, the classes capture my interest. I find that I actually do learn in these classes and do not simply memorize the information for the test. I still can recall a lot of the things I learned during my first semester at Lee.

Great for these types of students

Lee University is a terrific place for students who are seeking to be amongst a Christ like community, wanting to expand their cultural views, live in a clean beautiful atmosphere, share experiences with friendly students, and learn from passionate kind professors!

    Tips for prospective students

Prospective students should definitely get involved. Make the best of their experience by making friends, getting to know the professors, advisors, and other staff, striving for the best academically, and have an open mind in order to grow spiritually!

    Bang for the buck

It is not the cheapest university in America but I can say if one plans on attending a Christian college...it can be one of the cheapest!...It is well worth the money. The tuition is around 15,000.

    Am enjoying being here

I am having the best college experience here at Lee University. It is a wonderful place to be and I am so glad it was my first and only choice! I could not imagine enrolling anywhere else. It has made me grow as a person for the best.

    Am learning a lot

I am learning so much here at Lee University. My whole perspective has broaden in ways I never knew it could. I have learned more spiritually, academically, culturally, and socially.

Great for these types of students

Lee is great for all types of students! I have met people from all different types of backgrounds, and they all love it here! No matter where you come from, there is a spot for you at Lee University!

    Tips for prospective students

Lee is the campus where Christ is King! This is such a fun school to be at, and it's centered around our Lord and Saviour so it's even better! Come with an open mind and heart willing to learn from God.

    Bang for the buck

Lee is a private Christian school, but you wouldn't know it from the cost. There is no out of state tuition; everyone pays the same thing! Lee is much cheaper than any of Texas' state schools! Lee is also worth every penny, and they give such great scholarships to help out!

    Am enjoying being here

The people at Lee are absolutely amazing! The friends I've made and the professors I've had have changed me! They make being fourteen hours away from home not feel so bad. They make college life fun! The people here are always here for you, whether your homesick, needing help in class, or are just bored. This university is absolutely amazing, and I'm loving every second here!

    Am learning a lot

Lee is a challenging school, but in a good way! They will push you so that you better yourself! If you need any help at all, all you have to do is go talk to the professor. They are more than willing to assist you in any way possible. I truly believe that I can learn more here than I ever could at a public school! The professors have actual knowledge and experience of what they're teaching. Lee is all together just a great educational school!

    Campus Safety

Campus Safety is everywhere but it seems they're usually only useful for parking tickets. They can be rude at times, but if you're in trouble, they will come and help you out.

    Greek Life

Greek Clubs surround Lee from all over. Getting into a Greek Club is great for your social life for a close group of people.

    Clubs and Activities

There are plenty of clubs to get involved into and since there is a wide variety, it's not too hard to find the club you'd find to fit for yourself.

Great for these types of students

Chapel is great for anyone who is wanting to spend about an hour worshiping God and learning about Him. Not only that, but to hear testimonies from people and even hearing famous people sing! We've had Family Force 5, Israel Houghton, and Gungor come and worship with us.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Every Tuesday and Thursday you are required to attend Chapel at 10:40 am. Seeing as it's a Christ-Centered University, it's not too odd, but if you aren't used to the Pentecostal church, it may be a little different.

    Bang for the buck

Lee is great but since it is a private christian college, it is a little costly. However, there are plenty of opportunities to get scholarships, so take advantage of that!

    What to do for fun

There are plenty of sports activities here to get involved in. The area is also extremely nice and if you are an outdoors person, Lee is definitely the place to be. Although there aren't any swimming pools on campus, there are plenty of FUN rivers to go to (Blue Hole) and take a nice dip there.

    Food and Dining

Food here isn't too bad if you eat somewhere such as Chick-Fil-A, Subway, or Dunkin Donuts, etc; but if you plan on eating at the dining hall be prepared to come across decent foods but nothing that you'd have a craving for.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life isn't too bad. As long as you are outgoing there will be people all around who would love to get to know you. They also have a lot of group activities like small group (a small bible study/get together) and hall bonding.

    Academic Rigor

Class here are great! The teachers actually care and take the time to get to know you and help you with your studies as much as possible. They are also willing to work with any difficult situations that may occur in life that will effect your work.

    Tips for prospective students

Come prepared to work, have fun, and worship God. However, finding a group to feel belonged to can be a difficult task, so be prepared to be as outgoing as possible.

    In three sentences

Lee University is a great campus if you are wanting an awesome christian environment to be around. Although the environment is great; gaining a social life can be difficult because there are not many outdoor activities all throughout the weekend. Lastly, Lee would be a good school to attend if you like a small campus and love growing a relationship with caring teachers!

Great for these types of students

The college and campus is great for many students, but Christians and church-goers will get the most out of their experience there. Every student has to take a Bible class every semester and regular chapel service attendance is mandatory. It is also encouraged to attend and become involved in church services outside of the college.

    Tips for prospective students

Be aware of some rules: boys and girls are not allowed past the lobby in the opposite sex's dorm halls and there is a curfew of midnight on week nights and one o'clock on weekends.

    Bang for the buck

Compared to many other classes, Lee is well priced, including the price of dorming there. The campus is beautifully landscaped and the buildings are both up-to-date and elaborately designed.

    Am enjoying being here

The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. If a student wishes to be involved he can do so with the numerous clubs, intramural sports, organizations, and activities available to the student body at large. There is always something happening on campus and with everything from the post office to the dining hall to the bookstore located within a small area the campus is more like a community. The surrounding area around the campus is full of businesses, stores, and attractions.

    Am learning a lot

There are a wide variety of classes and majors that students can choose from. Students are required to take many core classes in different subjects, so the base of learning is expanded beyond the individual's chosen major. The majority of the teachers are dedicated to teaching and helping their students learn as much as they can.

Great for these types of students

Music students, Lee has one of the best music programs around. Pre-Med, Lee has a ridiculous Medical School acceptance rate. Theatre, you get more opportunities to act as opposed to bigger schools. Athletes, you get more opportunities to play as opposed to larger schools. Outdoor Lovers, Lee is 10 minutes from the best rafting in the country and next to some great campsites. Christians, You will learn to know Christ in a whole new way.

    Tips for prospective students

Freshmen: Girls go for Sharp/Davis hall (Its the nicest freshman girls dorm) Guys go for Bowdle/O' Bannon You have a curfew; 12am on weekdays and 1am on weekends. (It's not a big deal, I promise) You are required to go to chapels, but only 70% a month. (Everyone is there so it's like a big hang out and not like a church service.) Freshmen won't be able to have cars so make friends with upper classmen. Come to LEE DAY! It's the best way for prospective students to see everything happening at Lee in one weekend. It's usually the first weekend in April. Whatever your expectation are, they will be blown away by how amazing this place is.

    Bang for the buck

I live out of state and the tuition price is cheaper than most of my private schools in my state (including the in-state tuition price). Lee actually has the #1 ranked Study Abroad program. You have to go on a trip before you graduate and Lee pays for 75% of your trip! I plan on going to Europe for 2 weeks and I get credits that go toward my major.

    Am enjoying being here

You always have something to do, there are events every Friday night and we live so close to Chattanooga, an awesome collage town. I can hardly explain how amazing Lee really is in words. You will grow closer to God, you will meet the best people you've ever know, and you will wake up every day thinking about how blessed you are to be at Lee University.

    Am learning a lot

Lee is Cleveland, Tennessee's best kept secret. From the great campus that is a wonderful combination of brick buildings and gorgeous landscapes to the people, the professors, the friends, and everyone in-between. Lee University is my home.

    Clubs and Activities

there are over 100 student clubs on campus, and there is always something to do!

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

the most well-know saying on campus is by far ring by spring. lee is know for being a relationship maker that will extend out of college. there are a crazy amount of engagements that happen every year with lee students. this fun fact even holds true of our university president and his wife. they were both once students at lee, they meet at lee, got engaged while attending lee, and are now married. so girls and guys be sure to watch out for those of opposite sex because you may be giving or receiving a ring in the spring of one of your semesters here at lee.

    Bang for the buck

lee university is a private school so the cost is around $20,000 per year if you do not have any scholarships. the good news however is that if you make a 29 on the act you get your first full year paid for by school scholarship, and if you can keep a 3.7 gpa you may never have to pay to go to lee. if you don't have these scores, you can always find scholarships that the university offers as well as outside scholarship and department scholarships. if you are paying the full amount you are, in my opinion, getting your monies worth. there is nothing like coming to lee where you can get a top notch education from some of the friendliest instructors in the world and also be surrounded by amazing fellow students who are your friends but also know the true value of education.

    What to do for fun

the fun-factor is endless at lee. aside from being 30 minutes from downtown chattanooga and about 15 minutes from the cherokee national forrest, you can find plenty of things to do on and around campus. in the warmer months of the year, lee students enjoy going cliff jumping at the river near by and also playing sand volleyball, basketball, and even just relaxing around the beautiful campus in hammocks. regardless of your interest, there is something for everyone here at lee.

    Food and Dining

so the cafeteria may not have the best food on campus, but it is a college, right? although the cafeteria is not amazing it is getting considerably better each semester. the past year has brought many changes to lee university's dining services. within the past year the dining services has added a dunkin donuts, einstein's bagels, subway, and converted a chick-fa-la express into a full service chick-fa-la. there is also another coffee shop on campus in the student center called jazmine's. be-ware the cafeteria's hours of operation are pretty horrendous, so plan on bringing a mini-fridge and small microwave for your dorm room.

    Dorm Life

dorm life is amazing!! the dorms and dorm community at lee is incredible for first and second year students. medlin hall is the oldest male's dorm on campus and has seen better days. however, medlin's community life is incredible. as a first year student (freshman or transfer) you definitely want to pick medlin! dorm life on campus is held together by small groups. small groups is a campus wide residence life program where each hall gets together on thursday nights to have a bible-study and also to encourage the growth of community within the dorm. small groups is where you will find new friends that will soon become your best friends and the friends that you will have the rest of your life!

    Academic Rigor

academics at lee are topnotch. professors and teachers are well qualified and amazing at what they do. lee's faculty of instructors is amazing at getting to know students at an individual level. you will never be just another face in the crowd or a number in the audience when attending lee. professors are well-know for taking time out of there day and having lunch with students or just even sitting and talking with students about anything they want to- academic or non-academic.

    Tips for prospective students

try and schedule two days to visit lee so you can have the opportunity to spend the night in a dorm with a current student and get to know people attending lee currently. check out a list of all the clubs and activities and ask any question you have about getting involved on campus. it truly is really easy to get involved; especially with close to 100 student clubs on campus!

    In three sentences

lee university is one of the most engaging and friendly colleges in the nation. lee's student body, faculty, and staff are some of the friendliest and nicest people you will ever meet in your life. not to mention, lee has one of the most beautiful campuses you'll find.

Great for these types of students

Everybody except those who like to go to school to party. Drinking is not allowed on campus and is grounds for immediate expulsion.

    Tips for prospective students

Get the 21 meal plan, make sure you are staying in a dorm that you are comfortable in-some are communal bathrooms, others are not. (I like suite life, not a public bathroom person)

    Bang for the buck

You will not regret coming here! The campus is lovely, and buildings are always being renovated and built. No regrets!

    Am enjoying being here

I love college life, there is always something to do here at Lee! Greek club activities almost every other weekend, and other clubs fill in the missing days with plenty of parties and things to do.

    Am learning a lot

christians, artsy people, especially music, outdoorsy

    Tips for prospective students

be open. I enjoy the smaller campus because everyone i have met has been really friendly and open but this school is not for everyone. get involved in as many ways as you can. That is how you will meet people and occupy your free time

    Bang for the buck

lee is not the most expensive private school out there but it is still alot coming to around 20,000 a year. Freshman are offered alot of scholarships but many are not offered for the following year unless you keep your gpa very high. So it is a great school but not worth ruining you financially if you cant come up with scholarships

    Am enjoying being here

i really enjoy lee but it is not for everyone. It is in a very small town with not many means of entertainment, so students havce to come up with their own. If you enjoy the outdoors though you will never run out of things to do

    Am learning a lot

lee is not an easy school, many of my friends have been overwhelmed with the amount of work they are asked to do, i have not been too overwhelmed but i give alot of that credit to my high school for preparing me, so everyones own experience is different

    Tips for prospective students

Everything about campus life may seem overwhelming at first but I encourage you to jump out of your comfort zone. When people you don't even know invite you to hang out with them, at the very least consider joining them. You will meet some of the most interesting and you just might create some of the most fantastic relationships of your life. Try something new and put yourself out there!

    Bang for the buck

Pertaining to the actual campus and buildings, what Lee offers for what students pay is amazing! However, room and board are way too expensive especially for food that is less than mediocre. It is much cheaper to live off campus without a meal plan.

    Am enjoying being here

The people are amazing and everyone has a place on campus. That place can be found in music, Greek clubs, service clubs, athletics, academics, and much more.

    Am learning a lot

In general classes are challenging. The professors strive to help their students learn more about the subject at hand and find what they love.

    Campus Safety

Rarely anyone gets hurt on campus, and campus safety patrols every night keeping the campus as safe as possible.

    Greek Life

There are Greek Clubs on campus, while they aren't national Greek Clubs they are a big part of campus life. They host events all of the time which everyone is invited to.

    Clubs and Activities

There are clubs always popping up on campus for anything you could think of. Intramural sports is a big deal on campus and they always draw really big crowds.

Great for these types of students

It's great for students who are looking for a smaller, family oriented school. As I said before it is also very big on religion, because everyone who graduates from Lee comes out with a minor in Religion.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are these two great traditions at Lee that are really fun to be a part of. The is Dorm Wars, and that is where every dorm puts together a team and they train for about a month to compete in tournament of obstacle courses and eating competitions. The other tradition is called Ask The President. Lee's president is really involved with the students, so we get to have an opportunity one night to ask him any question we'd like and it's a really funny event.

    Bang for the buck

For out-of-state students the tuition is manageable with loans and/or scholarships. Also, almost everything on campus support-wise like the health clinic and counselors to talk to is free for the student which is almost unheard of.

    What to do for fun

For fun there are always intramural sports opportunities to become involved with. They play movies regularly in the cafeteria, and there is a good recreational facility that students can use.

    Food and Dining

They have a lot of option of where to eat such as a: Chick-fil-a, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, Einstein Bros. Bagels and a full sized cafeteria. They are changing companies for the cafeteria in 2012, so the food options in there should be really good

    Dorm Life

All of the dorms are really tight-knit at heart. There is always something scheduled to become closer with the people in your dorms. Downside is that none of the dorms are co-ed, and the opposite sex isn't allowed into your dorm at all.

    Academic Rigor

They give you a lot of core classes that you have to get out of the way so for the first two years you are taking all general education classes.

    Tips for prospective students

It's a great place to be if you want to surround yourself with other students with a strong faith in God. Be sure to try to get involved with something on campus, especially all of intramural sports opportunities Lee provides. Also if there is one event throughout the entire year that you should become a part of it would be Dorm Wars.

    In three sentences

Lee is very faith oriented, and you can tell that by the atmosphere of the school. It's professors here all care about helping you with your studies, while also furthering you in your faith with God. It doesn't have a great night life at all, so the campus seems dead after 6pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.

    What to do for fun

Depending on what your into or what your major is you can find all type of activities. Lee has a very diverse list of clubs and/or groups to join.

    Food and Dining

The dining hall is really good and the food is great. There are also a few fast food favorites around campus like Chic Fil a.

    Dorm Life

The dorms aren't very big, but the people at the campus are so awesome that you will love your roommate.

    Tips for prospective students

They are a very religious college so if that's the type of setting you want its definitely for you.

Great for these types of students

Thirdly, if you like hearing about God's word and want to study in a place that puts God first and helps aline your life work with the Bible than Lee would be a great place for you.

    What to do for fun

Cleveland, TN is a beautiful city. The best thing to do here is to hang out with your best friends and go walking on the green way. The green way is a long, paved length of sidewalk made for walking, riding bikes, scooters, rip sticks: just about anything you want to do outside can be done at the green way.

    Food and Dining

The food has gotten better in the past two years. The cafeteria is not great but the Subway and Chick-fil-a is great.

    Dorm Life

I don't love live on campus so my dorm life knowledge is limited. I know that freshman have curfew and there are lots of dorm meetings and nightly bible studies.

    Academic Rigor

I want to give Lee five stars for academic rigor, I'm sure there are others universities much more rigorous than Lee. Nonetheless, Lee's academic life isn't easy to say the least. Seventeen hours will be a heavy load. Be prepared for late nights and teachers that challenge your intellect and spiritual growth.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't be afraid to ask questions, in fact, visit Lee with a list of questions. Don't let any anyone make you feel bad for asking questions. Also, understand that Lee is a Christ centered, private, Christian university so there is a chapel and religion minor.

    In three sentences

Lee is athletically pleasing and well organized. The professors are always willing to talk and the students are always busy. Lee feels like a sophisticated country home.

Both Male and Female dorms have a champion and a spirit champion for the dorm with the most attendance and loudest cheering.

    Bang for the buck

For a private school with as many positives as Lee has (fantastic staff, beautiful grounds, great education, Paul Conn...), their tuition is ridiculously low.

    Food and Dining

We have a Subway, a Chick-fil-a, a Dunkin' Donuts, Einstein's Bagels, and Jazzman's in addition to the cafeteria. The food in the cafeteria isn't exactly wonderful, but that's to be expected for a cafeteria.

    Dorm Life

Dorm Wars are always popular among the freshmen, and a chapel speaker cannot mention a dorm name without a fraction of the students whooping. However, being a commuter, I don't have much to say on this front.

    Academic Rigor

My major (biological science with an emphasis in pre-professional studies) is one of the hardest majors on campus, along with music, mathematics, and the other sciences. My majors classes are definitely challenging, while the other classes are not always easy, but certainly not impossible. Come to classes expecting to learn and put in work and you will be perfectly fine.

    In three sentences

Lee University is a wonderful school, with a gorgeous campus and friendly staff. The small class sizes also encourage more interaction with professors (especially helpful for students planning on going to a graduate school). The required minor (religion), chapel services and infamous community covenant are only problematic if you let them be, and definitely not as frustrating as some make them sound.

There are so many different clubs on campus, from sports to sewing. There is a club for everyone and their interests on campus. There is always some kind of different activity going on on campus for everyone.

    Food and Dining

There are many dining options. There are new places open such as Dunkin' Donuts and Subway. Sometimes the food can get expensive, so sometimes I eat in my dorm room.

    Dorm Life

The dorm life is great. You meet so many new people and make so many new friends who will be with you for a long time. So many great friendships and close nit ones are made and its great.

    Academic Rigor

The professors are great and are there to help you. As long as you study hard and ask questions when you have the, you will do fine. The classes are not really that hard as long as you apply yourself.

    Tips for prospective students

Always keep your head up and don't get discouraged. Don't be afraid to ask the professors for help, they're there to help you. Always study, don't slack and keep your grades high because you could be eligible for good scholarships through the school.

Lee University has many fun traditions, I will just name a few of my favorites: Dorm Wars, Chapel and Convocation Week. Dorm wars takes place every February, and it is an exciting time when each dorm competes in a huge game in the basket ball arena. It's a night that the dorms, and participants prepare for weeks ahead of time! Chapel takes place twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10:40am to 11:30am. It's a 50 minute church service, and it's wonderful to take a break from the school day and focus on the Lord. And lastly, Convocation Week takes place once every semester where motivational speakers come to Lee University's chapel and speak- there is a different speaker each night for a week. During that week professor's are required not to give any tests or projects, so that we can focus on God for the week and learn something from the speakers.

    What to do for fun

The Paul Conn Student Union also known as the PCSU is the place to be on campus. Sometimes there is a movie showing, sports game, free food, etc. The campus book store is located inside as well as the student mail office, coffee house, subway, chick-fil-a, computer rooms, etc. There is a lot of events happening on campus each week, like concerts/shows/speakers in Chapel (bands, comedy, motivational, etc), Sorority dances, Club meetings, etc.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria on the Lee University campus offers everything from sandwiches to burgers, pizza to salad, pancakes to muffins... it really is first-class dining! There are also some restaurants on campus: Einstein bagels, Pizza hut, Duckin' Doughnuts, Subway, Chick-Fil-A and even two Jazzman Coffee Houses. You will never go hungry on this campus, the meal plan is well worth the money.

    Dorm Life

The dorms at Lee University are comfortable, and incredibly safe. Boys are not allowed in girls dorms, and via versa. They do have special open -dorm nights when members of the opposite sex can enter the dorm rooms; however, there is nothing bad or dangerous taking place. Believe me, the residential life office at Lee makes dorm life fun for everyone by having weekly Thursday night meetings/small groups and even local field trips happening usually once a month- such as: rafting, tubing, movies, dinner, etc. Everyone in the dorms become close friends who study together, go to weekly chapel services together, becomes dinner/lunch buddies, etc. I guarantee, that with out a doubt you will have so many fun and exciting experiences that you will never forget.

    Academic Rigor

The professors at Lee love and care for their students like I have never seen. They start each class with a small devotion, and prayer for the student's lives and their needs. They are always there to help you with whatever you need, whether it be inside or outside of class. I have even had dinner at a professor's house! They are personable, Godly people who are willing to guide you in the path of success.

    Tips for prospective students

Try to do your best on your SAT/ACT because Lee offers great scholarships for good test scores: having a good score can take off half of your school bill, which is extremely helpful.

    In three sentences

Lee University is a beautiful, safe, friendly, fun environment for college students to grow and learn. At Lee, you will grow stronger in your Faith while also growing academically as well as socially. As a Lee student you become a well-rounded individual who is ready to take on not only your career, but the world itself.

    What to do for fun

When the weather's nice there's a lot to do all around Cleveland and Chattanooga. Once it gets cold you're pretty much stuck. There aren't any really good hang out spots, especially since co-ed hang outs are to be confined to the lobbies which suck. But cliff jumping, hiking, swimming holes, are within a few miles of campus.

    Food and Dining

The food court area is decent, but the cafeteria is not all that enjoyable. It's hard to eat really healthy on campus, so if possible no meal plan is the way to go plus you save loads. It's a rip off honestly, especially because the dining hours are not compatible with the life of a college student.

    Dorm Life

Community was not good, res life staff is pretty awful, and the rules are suffocating. But for the most part the facilities are nice, clean, and fairly new.

    Academic Rigor

It truly depends on the class and/or professor, but for the most part you won't be able to coast on by.

    Tips for prospective students

Just stick it out concerning the rules, and try to see and remember all the good that inhabits the school. Every school has it's problems and it's major faults, Lee is no exception, but allow yourself to have fun and make your experience worthwhile.

    In three sentences

It's a beautiful campus with lots to offer. Some professors are wonderful, some aren't. The rules are overbearing, but it's to endure until out of their wing with living off campus.

On campus there is usually something going on but off campus there are somethings to do in Cleveland but Chattanooga is the main city to go to for restaurants and shops. There are a lot of outdoor activities to do around Cleveland. The Ocoee and Hiawassee are close and so is Chilhowie and Lookout Mountain.

    Food and Dining

The dining hall has it's good and bad days but for the most part it is pretty good. They always have good desserts and ice cream! Also, the restaurants on campus are wonderful too!

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is great! There is a strong sense of community in all of the dorms on campus. There is always some event going on pretty much every night and sports and intramurals a lot of fun! Also, you can't forget about Dorm Wars, it's the best!

    Academic Rigor

It depends on what type of classes you are taking and what professor you have. Classes of course progressively get harder as they go up in level. The teachers are generally very willing to help students so the classes are not too difficult if you are willing to work.

    Tips for prospective students

If students are interested then I highly recommend this college. Take advantage of the early deadlines when applying and visit the campus to get a feel for it and ask as many questions as you can think of about registration and fees. It is very helpful to know what you need to get done before classes start so you can avoid long lines and hassles.

    In three sentences

I personally think that Lee University is a great school with an energizing Christian atmosphere and absolutely beautiful campus. Since being here I have experienced how helpful and encouraging all of the staff are and just the people in general. The classes are designed to challenge you and make you a well rounded person, overall it is a wonderful place to further your education!

    What to do for fun

There are many clubs to join, whether you volunteering in a volunteer club or joining the Adventure club and going: skydiving, white water rafting, hiking, cliff jumping, and many other activities. There are block parties at the beginning of the school year. intramural games are always fun to join and/or watch. There are so many things to do, that college seems at times as camp.

    Food and Dining

The dining hall doesn't have the best food, but its a great place to get to know other people. It is also another great place to meet up with friends after a long day of classes.

    Dorm Life

The dorm life can feel a little small when you first move in, but its a great life and helps you to get to know the other students on your hall. There is a kitchen and lobby in every dorm which is fun. Its great to be able to make your own cookies in the dorm kitchens for a special treat

    Academic Rigor

There are a lot of ways to push yourself forward in your education. Lee University makes sure you are academically prepared for school, as well that they challenge you in ways you could never imagine. Yet the challenges only make your stronger as a student.

    Tips for prospective students

I would tell any prospective students to join the clubs Lee University offers its students, because they both keep you involved here at Lee, and help you to make friends easily. Another tip would be to actually get to know the professors here, because they want to help you succeed in their classes.

    In three sentences

Lee University is a great college for all kinds of students who want to be part of a 'family' here at Lee. The professors care about the students and want to help us succeed in all we do. And lastly, I would highly recommend Lee to students because this school personally wants to help their students grow both spiritually and academically.

    Campus Safety

It's a fairly safe campus. And you can call campus safety 24/7. If you have to park far away at night, they'll even come get you and take you to your dorm/apartment.

    Greek Life

Greek Clubs here are service based, and have some of the strongest communities here on campus.

    Clubs and Activities

There are many greek clubs, and they each host an event for the whole campus, so there's always something for friday nights. The Student Leadership Committee plans TONS of fun events. Our sports teams have national recognition. Our choirs and theater are open to non-majors, and our choirs are nationally renowned: performing at the January 2013 Presidential Inauguration.

Great for these types of students

-You want to be well prepared when you graduate. -You care about your relationship with God. -You want a private school that won't put you in 100,000 of debt. -You like serving and being involved in the community. -You want a gorgeous campus. -You want a dry campus. -You want to be surrounded by friendly, fun, and spontaneous students.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are lots of fountains, take the time to avoid campus safety and go swimming in them! Also, we have Dorm Wars each year. From freshmen to Seniors, it is the most outstanding event of the year. Also, everyone here is obsessed with the Campus President: Paul Conn

    Bang for the buck

For a private institution, this is as good of a deal as you will find. It's literally half the price of any other private school I looked at. It was also cheaper than a fair number of state schools. And they do everything with excellence, so your money goes a long way.

    What to do for fun

Hamilton Place mall is close, Chattanooga is fairly close and there is TONS to do there. Cleveland has a cute downtown area and many restaurants and stores. The Ocoee River, many mountains, good hiking, white water rating, camping, and many other outdoor activities are very close. The weather here is ideal for outdoor activities most months.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria is better than most other colleges I visited. But we also have on-campus restaurants you can go to: Subway, Chick-fil-a, Dunk'n Donuts, and Einstein's Bagels.

    Dorm Life

The freshmen and sophomore dorms are some of the most incredible communities you will find on campus. And the upperclassman on-campus apartments and townhouses are VERY nice.

    Academic Rigor

Different programs vary. But the professors here are very good at pushing their students to excellence without being unreasonable.

    Tips for prospective students

The strongest departments are: music, psychology, business (and we have a chinese program), history, teaching, and the school of religion. But all of our majors/department are excellent. Try many things, and get involved on campus! We have so much: intramurals, greek clubs (service based), rugby, service organizations, student leadership committee, academic clubs, incredible music groups, nationally renowned sports teams, and much more!

    In three sentences

Lee University has an atmosphere of friendliness and joy. Everything here is done with excellence; from the faculty, to chapels, to campus maintenance, to the students in various academic apartments. This college is very affordable and equips students exceptionally well for who that will be and what they will do in the future.

    What to do for fun

Chattanooga is only a 25 minute drive away, as are mountains and many camping opportunities. On campus, there are consistently campus-sponsored events to keep a wandering mind occupied.

    Food and Dining

Dining hall food is Sodexo, and mediocre at best. The salad bar was always a highlight, but the home-cooked food was usually disappointing. The Chic-fil-a, Subway, Einstein's Bagels and Dunkin Donuts are wonderful, though!

    Dorm Life

The Res Life staff is kind and helpful, with the students best interest, and the dorms tend to have great community.

    Academic Rigor

The rigor is not competitive with some more prestigious schools, but depending on your major, it can be very demanding. Music and Science fields are more intense than most.

    Tips for prospective students

Visit campus, attend classes, and meet professors. Be sure to connect with others in your field before attending to get an understanding of your future at the school.

    In three sentences

Lee is a beautifully groomed, inspirational Liberal-Arts school in southern Tennessee focused on creating well-rounded, intelligent members of society. The school's primary focus is on critical thinking skills and real-life application. The professors are considerate, helpful and inspirational.

    What to do for fun

There is plenty to do in Cleveland and the surrounding areas including cliff jumping and and a national park. Also Chattanooga is only thirty minutes away and Nashville a couple hours.

    Food and Dining

We have several restaurants on campus including Subway and Chik-Fil-A. The cafeteria food isn't terrible but it isn't exactly good either and gets old pretty quickly.

    Dorm Life

The community style dorms are the best in my opinion. You do have to share a shower and the rooms are smaller but you don't have to clean the bathroom. Also everyone gets really close on the hall in community style because the rooms are so small and people don't want to be in them all day.

    Academic Rigor

The work does not seem to be that difficult to me but people do struggle. Their is a heavy work load but if you always do your best and do not procrastinate then it will become easier over time.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply early and spend extra time studying for the ACT and SAT. Lee has great scholarships if you score really well.

    In three sentences

Lee is a great small university with a family feel. The professors actually care about you and go out of their way in order to see you succeed. This is also an amazing Christian university that seeks to put God at the center of everything.

    What to do for fun

There are several places around the area you can visit for entertainment. There is a Target, a mall, putt putt course, and a movie theatre. There are so many places to eat out in town, you will never be at a loss for restaurant variety.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria is not up to par. The food is always available, but it is not always really popular with the other students. If you're doing the dining, it may be best to eat at kiosks- like Chik-fil-a- or around town.

    Dorm Life

Dorms are very clean and well kept. You do have a curfew. You are required to live your freshmen year unless you live at home with your family in town.

    Academic Rigor

There will be some classes that you will be required to take that you wouldn't normally need at other universities. You are required to do a religion minor no matter what degree you are searching for. The professors I always willing to work with you on anything you are struggling with.

    Tips for prospective students

For those students that have decided to go through with an education degree, Lee University is a great place to do it! The teachers are constantly there for support and encouragement. You are able to get several opportunities in child care and surrounding education systems.

This school is excellent for those looking for that type of Christian environment. The campus and surrounding area is beautiful. This University is one of the top Christian schools around!

    Campus Safety

Campus safety does their job. There isn't exactly much crime on campus for them to deal with. However, they do a great job of patrolling the campus.

    Greek Life

There are a variety of Greek clubs to choose from at Lee. It is a prominent part of Lee University culture and campus life.

    Clubs and Activities

There are many different clubs to become involved with. I am involved with SLC (Student Leadership Council) who is involved with just about every event on campus. It's a great way to get plugged in.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Don't walk under the bell tower while it rings with a friend of the opposite sex unless you are hoping to marry them.

    Bang for the buck

Lee is one of the cheapest private, Christian schools in the area. It's a deal!

    What to do for fun

Eh, this is where Cleveland lacks. There isn't a lot of things to do for fun. However, if you get involved on campus there will be plenty to keep you entertained!

    Food and Dining

Cleveland has some of the best restaurants around. There are many local eating places that offer discounts for Lee University students.

    Dorm Life

I thought I would be that person who hated dorm life. To my surprise, it is probably my favorite part of the college experience.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are rough. However, with hard work you can easily keep a high GPA. Also, your professors are almost always willing to help.

    Tips for prospective students

Go to Frontline and take your parents or guardian. Frontline not only convinced me to go to Lee but it also convinced my parents that Lee was the school for me. Lee Day is another great chance to learn about the school, just a little more expensive due to having to stay in a hotel over night.

    In three sentences

Lee University is a great place to learn, live, and grow. Campus life at Lee is more than any student could hope for. And the spiritual growth you will experience is beyond compare.

The campus is absolutely beautiful (espescially the girls with a girl to guy=4:1) The students in general as a whole are uplifting as well and the atmosphere is wonderful to work in.
