There are various clubs and activities to join here, but they are not mentioned as much as I think they should. This is probably why each club is small.

The college holds a lot of annual activities or fairs to represent different clubs and many of which represent different ethnicities.

    What to do for fun

For fun I use the fitness equipment in the new gym. As a student you still need to pay a fee to use it, but the fee is small. There aren't that many fun things to do, but this is only my opinion.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria is a brand new building where all the culinary arts students cook all day long and are at your service. All the food is made there and the students do a great job at cooking and baking. The food is great, but I think it needs a little more variety of lunch choices.

    Academic Rigor

    Campus Safety

The campus is pretty safe, I've been attending this college for almost 3 years and so far no violent incidents have occurred.

    Greek Life

    No Greek Life

    Clubs and Activities

Due to the fact that Los Angeles Mission College is a community college many students do not bother creating and joining clubs. In addition, the school makes it harder to establish a club due to the amount of paperwork and fees one has to do and pay.

Great for these types of students

Los Angeles Mission College is great for Chicano Studies Students and students who are pursuing a S.T.E.M. related major.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Due to Mission's status as being a community college there aren't any school traditions.

    Bang for the buck

Bang for the buck only applies to the tuition which is 46 dollars per unit. Other than that everything at the student store and cafeteria is pretty expensive and it would be much better if the student would bring their own food or simply eat outside of campus.

    What to do for fun

The best things to do for fun are not necessarily on campus but outside. Los Angeles Mission College is adjacent to El Cariso Park, gold course, and various hiking trails.

    Food and Dining

Los Angeles Mission College recently opened their culinary arts building around 4 years ago. Such building has a top of the line equipment, unfortunately though the menu is only limited to sandwiches, burgers, pizza, and hot dogs. To make things worse the prices are to expensive for the average college student to afford.

    Dorm Life

Since Los Angeles Mission College is a community college, dorms are not available for students who would like to attend this institution. The surrounding area of the college is very beautiful due to the scenery and easy access to hiking trails and parks.

    Academic Rigor

Academic rigor is not difficult, but I would recommend for students to choose their professors adequately. Having a professor that knows how to teach will make a big difference between learning and applying the material and failing the class causing you to fall behind.

    Tips for prospective students

The best advice I can give to students is to obviously try their best to get those A's in their grades, try hard, and always maintain a great relationship with their professors and counselors not only in the classroom, but also outside of it. Aside from the obvious, I would also recommend for the students to register for their classes on time because it is very difficult to get a class once you're registration date has passed due to high amount of students.

    In three sentences

Los Angeles Mission College is a small college that is surrounded by the Sylmar Mountains. The college is perfect for those who are not ready to attend a four year university in terms of undecided major, low tuition, or simply want to save money on their education. This college also improved in terms of education due to the addition of their S.T.E.M. Center building.
