Join something, don't begin your journey to higher education alone. When I came to community college, I felt like it was just a stepping stone, a small phase of my life that I would just skip when telling my children where mommy went to college. In the process of doing my own thing, I stumbled upon the Speech team. Without knowing what this activity was even about, I decided to give it a try. Ended up in New York for a National Speech tournament and came in at 7th in the Nation. I now call that team my family. Not only did it make my experience at a CC worthwhile, but it provided me with a leg up to continue this activity at a University, which is where I am head to this year. All because of one club.
