“dorm life here is above adequate, and it is in a great city. you are bound to have fun.…”
“everyone is friends, it is very easy to make friends!…”
“Loyola is my home. I never want to leave campus to go back home, and when I do I can't wait to get back. The people are warm and friendly,…”
“The restrictions here are pretty tough especially in comparison to other non religious universities. Furthermore Loyola is out to make money in anyway they can and that includes fines for…”
“Can't really say, never lived in the dorm only visited friends there. From what I've heard it depends on the dorm you get.…”
The meal plan food could be better, but there are restaurants everywhere in the surrounding areas of the campus, and and there is something for everyone.
» Read MoreThe dining halls look fantastic. They are all brand new. I hope the food is as good as the hall looks.
» Read MoreWith 2 dining halls, a food court, and a convenience store on campus, finding decent meals (including vegetarian and gluten free) is not hard. Furthermore, the declining balance (meal plan money) can be used at local restaurants, if you are looking to change it up a bit.
» Read MoreDinning hall food is always bad, it doesn't matter which school it is.
» Read MoreThere is a salad bar, dessert table, and you are always welcome to make your own sandwiches. An assortment of cereal is always available along with waffles. There's comfort food (the usual pizza, hot dog, chicken, fries, etc) and a menu that changes daily. The new Damen center is so modern and chic, there's really not much I can complain about the food.
» Read MoreI always got sick from the food however, I have heard that it has gotten better.
» Read MoreThe food is sub-par at best. Not really the best dining food a school can offer but there are a variety of choices. However their new gourmet dining is amazing. Everything is made to order and tastes great and is available at reasonable prices.
» Read MoreFood is tiring after a while, although it was not good to begin with anyways. Meals are expensive and not worth all that money, one has to taste everything in order to figure out what taste good.
» Read MoreBelow-average food quality but wide variety.
» Read MoreStandard dorm food. It's not delicious, not disgusting either. Eating it on a daily basis will quickly make you sick of it though.
» Read MoreEveryone in fraternities and sororities seem close to each other.
» Read MoreAs with the rest of the school culture, sororities and fraternities also focus on social justice and community service. However, there are not many of them (5 sororities and 4 fraternities), and they do not have campus housing together.
» Read MoreAwful. It is not like state schools
» Read MoreNot much of a Greek Life at Loyola
» Read More6 Sororities, 6 Fraternities.
» Read MoreVery minimal.
» Read MoreGreek Life is quickly becoming a major part of campus. Frats and sororities don't actually have houses, but they just throw ragers in apartments.
» Read MoreThere are no frat houses or sorority houses on campus. Personally, I think that's a good thing, since most of the people in sororities or fraternities tend to be a pretty clique-y and sometimes develop a weird God complex type personality. Sororities and fraternities have a bad reputation because of this - they are honestly just rude. I'd say if you go to Loyola, consider avoiding the Greek scene.
» Read MoreNo personal experience but stories sound great.
» Read MoreGreek life is not very big here but it is growing. about 10% of the student body is involved in Greek life
