I did not do this for the first four years, but I recently discovered this website and have used it ever since then. Go to ratemyprofessor.com before starting a class and look at the reviews. This method has saved me from taking classes that I would have most likely regretted and possibly dropped. The students are honest on this website and tell you everything from teaching methods, personality of the teacher, and the way they grade. Make sure you go to your couselors and advisors, but be careful it seems like a lot of them don't know what they are talking about sometimes. I've had some tell me I was only one class away from something and I take that class and didn't need that class and was really three classes or so away from graduating.

My tips for prospective students would be to try hard from the beginning. Keep focused on your goal and even when you feel like giving up just remember it will all be worth it when you have your degree.

Get involved in what the campus offers, you'll have more fun. Have a few back-up plans as to which classes you want to take each semester... there's a good chance several of the ones you want will be full.
