    Make sure to attend class and do the homework, especially the reading. A close relationship to your professors and teaching assistants will truly help in class, and they are also very assuring and helpful. Don't be overwhelmed or intimidated by the other students! Everyone is probably feeling as challenged as you are!

    Prospective students should present their whole selves to the university. A common phrase at Marquette is cura personalis, which translates into care for the entire person. Marquette is interested not only in a prospective student's GPA and test scores, but in who he or she is as a person.

    Watch application dates and be patient. Very competetive selection process. When I applied, I was one of 22,000 students competing for 2000 spots. I had a 3.8 GPA and a 37 ACT and was weight-listed for the nursing program. I was eventually accepted.
