It is a small university with small classes taught by instructors who really make you feel like they care. There are a lot of majors offered and classes can be taken on campus or off. The cost of tuition is affordable for a university.

Because its petite size, there is an influx of St. Louis commuters and campus life is similar to high school in that everyone recognizes everyone. Despite the fact Maryville is a wet campus, this is no party school because academics are so rigorous; not to say good times can't be had.
