Around Town

There are movies every weekend in the on-campus cinema, frequent dances with fun themes and good music, trips to NYC and Washington, D.C., talent shows, karaoke nights, and campus-wide parties to attend.

Well, if you like trees and/or the woods, you'll have plenty to do. Otherwise there's campus events, such as the under-attended B-Sides(Free Wednesday night concerts), a new disc golf course, and the classic relax and watch a movie in the room. Or if you're 21 the bars in Harrisburg are fun to go to, just don't let your RA find out.

The campus has many clubs and activities for students of every interest or passion. Check out the Messiah College website for a complete listing. There is something for everyone!

To be honest there is not usually a lot to do campus, and there is nothing really within walking distance (It helps to have a friend with a car). It can be boring at times, but it also can be a blast just making your own fun.

Hang out with friends, sit by the creak.

There are constantly activities going on on campus. Every week there is a concert and a movie that they show at the on-campus theater.

The college offers movies on campus on the weekends, student coffeehouse performances, and other great activities through the student activities board. If that isn't enough, the rec and varsisty sports will keep you both fit and entertained!

There are many things that Messiah has to do for fun. A few of my favorites are Powerhouse, Zumba, and SAB Films. Powerhouse is a contemporary worship service on Thursday nights. Messiah Zumba is fun and a great way to stay in shape. SAB Films is a movie theater that only costs a dollar per film and they show a different movie each weekend.

If it's nice weather go outside! You can play Frisbee, hang out with friends on blankets, or go to the Yellow Breeches and swim/tube. You can also hang out at the Student Union or go to the Fishbowl! One Sunday a month you can go to the Union for coffee house and listen to people perform while you drink coffee and hang out with friend. Go off campus! Harrisburg is a 15 minute drive from Messiah and there are a lot of great places to check out in the city.
