Donâ??t overwork yourself. College isn't just about studying, itâ??s about having fun and meeting new friends. If you think you are taking too many credits, donâ??t be afraid to drop a class. Also, Michigan Tech provides many opportunities to get involved in the community or in campus life. Take whatever opportunities you can get that interest you. Donâ??t be afraid to ask questions in and out of class. Teachers love hearing questions from their students and will answer them. If you have a question, raise your hand and ask. Donâ??t worry too much about your grades. An occasional C or D is nothing to fear. Employers are more interested in your work experience than your GPA. Do your best, but donâ??t worry too much if you have trouble in one or two classes.

If you need help, ask for it. Just because high school was easy doesn't mean college will be too. The Faculty wants you to succeed, the University wants you to succeed. If studying on your own doesn't work, there are Learning Centers to go to for practically every subject. If your still struggling, allowing your professor to know you want to succeed helps. Go to their office hours, let them learn your name and face so they could pick you out of a crowd. They will help you. Finally, if you are doing all you can, you know the material, but test taking is something you struggle with, tell the University. The Dean of Students can help you.
