    Campus Safety

This is a very safe school as you need your ID to get into campus and to enter any building. Sometimes security people walk around too. Downers Grove is a relatively safe city to begin with.

    Greek Life

They have a lot of fraternities and similar organizations if you're interested. I'm not part of one, so I can't tell you too much about it.

    Clubs and Activities

There are lots of clubs and organizations you can join specific for your program. For example, in the pharmacy college, there is the Community Pharmacy Club and American Pharmacist Association. It helps you meet other people and be aware of what is going on at campus.

Great for these types of students

If you are willing to go through any schedule they give you and take exams at 7 am on Mondays, then you will be fine. If you're used to picking your own schedule during undergraduate studies, this will be a bit of a challenge. If you really like science, this is a good school for you.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

They force you to carry your ID all the time, and you need it to enter the campus and any building. Security is a bit extreme and there is always construction going on. They harp too much on professionalism at times and force you to attend a professionalism meeting.

    Bang for the buck

I feel that tuition is a bit too expensive and sometimes I feel like I'm not even learning that much from the professors. Compared to the pharmacy school in Chicago, Midwestern University is much more expensive. I'm not really sure if I got the full benefit out of the tuition I payed.

    What to do for fun

Be involved in clubs as it not only makes life more fun, but it also strengthens your resumes. Try to maybe get a leadership position or volunteer at the Health Fair they have in the fall. Downers Grove is right by Chicago, so if you're a city person, you can have lots of fun in downtown.

    Food and Dining

I don't really eat in the cafeteria that much because they are so expensive. They only accept cash which is silly because everyone uses a credit or debit card these days. If you buy your food from the cafeteria everyday be prepared to have a serious dent in you wallet.

    Dorm Life

I don't live in a dorm but I heard the rooms are pretty small. But you can always go to other buildings on campus that are more spacious and good for studying.

    Academic Rigor

I sometimes feel that my high school classes were harder than classes here. The non-science classes aren't very challenging and the exams overall are not tricky. With such a big class size, it is sometimes hard to learn in class, so be prepared to teach yourself the majority of the material.

    Tips for prospective students

Try your best to attend class as it helps you focus on what will be tested on exams. Use your breaks between classes wisely; try studying in the library instead of talking to your friends for the whole hour break. Keep up with you studies and try not to fall behind.

    In three sentences

The campus is really pretty and most of the faculty are friendly. The hardest part of Midwestern University is sometimes just the schedule they give you. If you manage your time well, you will do all right.

    Campus Safety

Campus is very safe, I feel at home here. There are multiple checkpoints to scan badges so only students can enter designated areas.

    Greek Life

There is no greek life currently, but potential exists with students trying to come up with their own fraternities and sororities.

    Clubs and Activities

There are multiple clubs and activities available. One can join yoga classes at the gym or sports clubs or clubs related to their respective majors.

    What to do for fun

Go to the gym, Chicago city is very close by,

    Food and Dining

There is a great variety of food with a dining hall conveniently located in the middle of campus and that is open to options of carrying out food as well.

    Dorm Life

Dorms are spacious and clean with access to kitchens and laundry easily. Dorms are also very secure with regular checkpoints for students to scan their badges.

    Academic Rigor

Academics are given a great emphasis as they should be here. Coursework is difficult, but definitely prepares you for the future.

    Tips for prospective students

Prospective students should come in expecting to do a lot of hard work but have fun as well because it is a great campus with great students and faculty and not very far from the city as well.

    In three sentences

Midwestern University, Downers Grove is a very organized, clean, friendly college. The faculty, staff, and students are all very caring and responsible. Additionally the facilities and amenities it has to offer are world class.
