Great for these types of students

well there are a lot of great opportunity that are available on the campus for everyone to do, just go to be on the lookout. If your bored and done with everything that is needed to be done just go join a club or organization or you can even create your own. You can pop up over at the Children house and see how can give them a helping hand. Just get yourself involved in multiple programs on campus because it would be a great resume builder to rank yourself much higher. You could even go up to the campus hub in the CSU to see what you can ingrain self into. If you have much more free time just give visit the library and study just for a few minutes or longer. Minnesota State University-Mankato has a great Rec Center for anyone to use to go workout or play any other sports. The whole point is to not say in the dorm all the time. Go out there and explore your options and it will be wroth it.

    Tips for prospective students

Develop a network if you are interested in coming to this school, because its more likely that person have the same class as you or already taken the class. This will be your best bet for any school to tell you the truth, because the person that was once part of that class can be used as a great resource for. There is one other thing I most urge is resource, resource, resource. It is available on campus you just got to find it. just remember a close mouth will not get feed

    Am enjoying being here

It is great being at Minnesota State University-Mankato you are able to meet a lot of new people from different parts of the country. Its just one factor that I see that is important to have in Mankato that is a car. To be able to move around Mankato. The other thing is the amount diversity shown at the school is down based on cultures other than that I enjoy being a student here.

    Am learning a lot

You are able to learn the material in a matter of time and your time will not be wasted. The professors are willing to schedule days in which they can give you one on one help. There will be a lot of information that comes at once that you will need to take notes on. There is a great amount of resources that can be utilize if you are need of help tutors are offered as well. End the end its at great environment for learning you will have fun with it.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for students who like to do many activities and have many resources available to them. If you are a people person, this is the school for you. The school is about middle size, which is good because there are enough people where you can meet new people even towards the end of each semester or year. Coming here you might not expect a lot, but leaving you will leave with a book full of memories.

    Tips for prospective students

The one thing you need to focus on is time management because there are tons of things to do and a lot of free time to do your class work. School comes first. So take care of it first, finish your class work then go out after. Do not think that you will never have the opportunity to do something again, because chances are you will. So never feel rushed, take your time and take care of what you have to do. There are so many resources available, which means you have to go out there and look for them. Once you have found them, use them wisely, they help you much more than you think.

    Bang for the buck

The great thing about coming to Mankato is that many students get a lot of financial aid. So turn in your FAFSA in early so you get all the money possible. Even though all together it is around 16,000 or so, you pay so much less, it even can even compare to going to a community college near home, depending how well you did in high school and how many scholarships you have. This is really good because you get a good experience moving away from home to grow up for not that much money.

    Am enjoying being here

Minnesota State University Mankato is such a great place to be. There are so many things available to do like study at the library, go swimming, running, working out, playing basketball or Intramural Sports, hanging out the Centennial Student Union, joining one of the many student organizations who plan many events and help everyone, you can volunteer, take a nice walk, jog, or run around campus, or attend any sporting even including hockey which is big here. The great thing about Mankato, is you always find something new to do.

    Am learning a lot

The first couple of semesters, you might get big classes. You make it how you want. You could make it be a negative thing and let it get the best of you. OR you could use it to your advantage. All the students in the classes are going through the same thing as you so you guys can help each other. And something that you really would like is that Teachers are flexible for you to come in to get help, and if they can’t help you I am more than positive you will find someone who can help you. Another good thing about it is that since it is a lecture class, many other people on campus already took the class so they can help you out too. There should be no way you can not do well in class.

Great for these types of students

Students who need a campus that is easy to figure out, buildings close together. Also students that need a school that has a small amount of people attending, but at the same time still enough that you can meet a new person everyday.

    Tips for prospective students

The campus is close together and easy to figure your way out around.

    Bang for the buck

Many resources available to you, with the money you give the school. You receive more resources and help then what you paid for.

    Am enjoying being here

Great atmosphere, meet lots of great people going through the same things you are going through.

    Am learning a lot

There are great professors to help you along the way, along with many other resources if you need help with school work.

Great for these types of students

Mankato is great for any type of student. There is a lot to do in Mankato and opportunities for everyone. Mankato is a medium sized school, so it for those students who don't want to go to a Big 10 college or a small college in the middle of no where. It is easy to meet people and to get involved. It is a great school for anyone.

    Tips for prospective students

A tip for any student planning on going to college is learn how to manage your time and figure out how you study. One thing I found hard during my first week of college is time management. At college, you can always hang out with your friends. You don't have your parents there to tell you what to do. You are independent now. Studying might not be the first thing on your list. There is a lot of free time in college and that is why it is so much different than high school. But as a freshman, you need to figure out how to manage your time and quickly. The other thing you need to concentrate on is how to study and what to study. One of my friends said to me, before her first college exam, was, I don't even know how to study. I think most students will find it hard when they are trying to study for their first college exam. In high school, figure out what works for you and bring those tips with you in college. Studying is important and you will learn quickly after that first exam.

    Bang for the buck

The cost for schooling at Mankato is very reasonable. Also, there are opportunities for students who it might be hard to afford to go to Mankato. Students are eligible for financial aid and scholarships to help pay for their college expenses.

    Am enjoying being here

I was scared to go to college. I was one of the kids who loved high school and wasn't ready to move on and go to college. By the time I got there, I was enjoying every minute of it. I have met friends that will last a lifetime, I have gotten myself involved with the soccer team and other activities that have been on campus, and I have been trying to get involved with clubs on campus. Even though I am only an hour or so away, I don't find myself coming home all that often. Even though I usually have soccer every weekend, I choose to stay on campus because I enjoy being at school.

    Am learning a lot

I am a freshman at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I recently finished my first semester at Mankato. I have learned a lot within my first semester. Why I think I have succeed so far at Mankato is because the class sizes aren't too big, professors want to help you if you take initiative and want help, and there are many resources that you can use that will help you succeed. Professors have office hours and they are willing to help you if you come to them. They will make sure you are understanding the material and help you with your questions. The resources Mankato offers can really help a freshman like myself. I found myself in the library many times during my first semester. Mankato also provides tutors to those who need further help. Mankato wants you to succeed and the people there will help you.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for both those who know what they want to major in, and have no clue. Also great if you don't really know if you'd prefer a bigger city or a rural setting, since Mankato is blend of both worlds.

    Tips for prospective students

Look into the learning communities! There's learning communities for pretty much any major you can think of - even for undecided students! It's a great way to make friends who are in your classes, and get the classes you need in order to be admitted in your major, especially if you're choosing a popular major such as nursing or dental hygiene. Remember, you're a college student - if you need help, ask for it! Your advisors, instructors, professors, etc., are there to help you, but they're probably not going to approach you if they think you need help. All you have to do is send someone an email, or go to their office hours, and they're be happy to assist you.

    Bang for the buck

Compared to a lot of other universities (even other public universities), MNSU - Mankato is affordable, even if you are living on campus. The dorms aren't too shabby, except for Gage, but it is known as the party dorm, and is soon going to be torn down anyway. Since it is a larger sized university, there's a wide variety of majors and courses available. Since the school is larger, that also means you will have more of a chance of getting into a class that you where wait listed on, or even having a new section made if enough students express enough interest.

    Am enjoying being here

Mankato is a decent sized city, and has been described by others as the big thing in the middle of nothing, since the surrounding areas are small towns, etc. There's a decent sized mall, a movie theater close to campus, and plenty of chain restaurants in town. MNSU - Mankato is also in D1 in both men and women's hockey. However, a lot of people go home, or aren't campus on the weekends, which is probably due to the fact that there isn't much to do on campus. The campus is pretty condensed, which is good for making it to class on time, but makes the school isolated from the rest of the city. I recommend bringing a car, since Walmart and Target are not in walking distance from campus. Luckily, parking spaces are very affordable compared to other universities. Also, clubs and other organizations can sometimes seem nonexistent after welcome week. However, if you go through the school website and find the list of recognized student organizations, you can email or call the club to find out more.

    Am learning a lot

This school provides a good Liberal Arts education, and competitive programs. General courses have information that overlaps with other courses, so you won't ask yourself why did I take this class at the end of the semester. Instructors and professors who teach at the general level try to cover many different topics, so there's bound to be something you find interesting or useful from all of your classes. I can only imagine how much my past and future courses will contribute to my education and general knowledge base.

Great for these types of students

    Anyone!

    Tips for prospective students

If you are going to live on campus get the Flex meal plan so you can switch meals to flex dollars. Don't change all of them to flex dollars though. Also the parking here is not fun, so if you can try not to bring a car. One year is good for on campus housing but after that first year Its cheaper to live off campus.

    Bang for the buck

The cost for the schooling is very reasonable. Especially for how good of schooling you are getting. The cost of room and board is a little expensive, but one of the dorms are really nice and one in the making.

    Am enjoying being here

You will meet many new people when you come here. The college is huge and everyone is friendly. I enjoy going out and meeting new people every time I do. You don't see the same people everyday, and the campus is beautiful.

    Am learning a lot

The professors really care about you here. For how big the college is it's almost surprising just how much help you will get from professors. They are there to answer questions almost all the time.

    Bang for the buck

it has been a great experience for me to learn how to live away from home and i've never had to share a room with anyone. i really feel i learned a lot about myself and my decision making skills improved.

    What to do for fun

i joined the ski/snowboard club, a fall coed soccer team, i was one of the mascots for msu, and am part of a guitar ensemble. i am also on the maverick lacrosse team. it worked well for me to stay busy. i was also the floor president in my dorm and met a lot of people that way as well.

    Food and Dining

my first semester was the all you can eat plan in the cafeteria. i switched it up in the second semester to allow more options. the good thing about the dining is you can always find someone to eat with.

    Dorm Life

first year should be in the dorms. you will meet many many people and experience fun activities. there is nothing to describe this experience but i have no regrets. i was the floor president and participated in a lot of activities.

    Tips for prospective students

    Campus Safety

You will constantly see MSU security around campus and you can request an escort back to dorms if you have a night class.

    Clubs and Activities

Always something interesting going on campus.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Otto Rec center is a very nice place to work out. It was monitors attached to exercise machines so you can watch TV, go online, or even write a paper while working out.

    What to do for fun

There is a bowling alley and billiards in the basement of the student union. Also there are lots of intramural teams to be on during all seasons.

    Food and Dining

Carkoski has a nice mix of foods to choose from and if you do not find something there the student union always has some more choices.

    Dorm Life

The dorms a very nice to stay in as long as you get along with your roommate.

    Academic Rigor

Depending on what classes you are taking your course load can be very difficult. The professors challenge you and it is a lot harder than high school.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not get lost in Trafton, it can be very confusing.

    In three sentences

A very nice campus, with good class and professors. I very much enjoy attending school here. Its close enough to the cities so that there is always something to do.

    Bang for the buck

    Could be cheaper.

    What to do for fun

If you are not big on partying, the group, IMPACT, usually has events going on thursday through saturday nights.

    Food and Dining

You get tired of cafe food after the first year. Luckily, pizza places and Jimmy Johns deliver.

    Dorm Life

I had some good times in the dorms.

    Academic Rigor

Varies on teacher, classes, and the student themselves.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure that the school you are going to has the particular field of major that you want to study.

    Greek Life

Greek Life is limited, with only a few sororities and fraternities, they have strict hazing rules though.

    Bang for the buck

Non-rigorous classes, you feel like a number instead of a person.

    What to do for fun

MSU- Mankato has only a few recreational areas, and student organizations are limited, however- Mankato has plenty of things to do and lots of people to meet. Finding something to do isn't difficult.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria food can be sickening, towards the end of my first semester, I would not want to eat much from the cafeteria because it was repetitive and overwhelmingly salty. However, Chets and the CSU covered for the cafeteria.

    Dorm Life

There is always something happening in the dorms.

    Academic Rigor

You get what you put into it.

    Tips for prospective students

I would suggest living on campus the first year, not in Julia Sears and not in Preska (which are both suite styled), so that you meet new people. However, after the first year- look for cheaper housing, MSU-Mankato charges more for housing than they do for their education. Research professors before taking classes, check out ratemyprofessors.com so that you can avoid professors that teach from the book.

    In three sentences

Minnesota State University in Mankato has a small campus size with large population. With 15,000 students, lecture halls are unavoidable, and finding professors that are trying to make a difference in a students life is difficult to find. You get what you put into it is very applicable, in order to get a good education, you need to put in extra work in order to compensate for professors lack of enthusiasm.

    Campus Safety

There are always security guards driving and walking around looking out only for the safety of students.

    Greek Life

Greek life is just an option, but seems to be very worth while.

    Clubs and Activities

There are many major-oriented clubs and activities. As a business major myself there are over ten clubs alone that I could join! There are a variety of options from major clubs, all the way to sports or religious organizations, and most the time anyone can join at anytime.

Great for these types of students

Great for business majors and musicians.

    Bang for the buck

The school of mankato is small, but Mankato as a city is very large. There are so many places to explore on and off campus, the academics are good, and it is very cheap.

    What to do for fun

There is a movie theater very close to campus that is very cheap and fun to go to. Also there are many shops in the downtown area including a mall which one can get to by simply taking the free bus system. There are plays and concerts that the school puts on for very cheap. There is ice skating in the winter as well.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria always has a large variety of options, both healthy and not so healthy.

    Dorm Life

Preska and Julia Sears are new and improved dorms that are very nice. There are many fun activities that are put on by the dorm community leaders. There are free washers and dryers, as well as many opportunities to make new friends.

    Academic Rigor

I originally attended the University of Minnesota Twin Cities for my first semester of college. Once I transferred to Mankato, the academics got a little easier and relaxed, but it is still very challenging.

    Tips for prospective students

My tip for prospective students would be to balance work and play. It is easy to get caught up in other things besides education. Stay focused and work hard. Also, utilize resources such as the library, campus hub and computer labs. They are there for a reason and are very beneficial.

    In three sentences

Minnesota State University- Mankato is small, cheap, and has easy navigation. Mankato also has brand new dorms, a free bus system, cheap parking, and a well-rounded student body. The classes are small and very personal as well. I think it is a great school and is very underestimated in its potential!

    Bang for the buck

    Very good for it's price.

    What to do for fun

There's shops and malls around Mankato. I haven't been out of the campus too much so I don't know. However, I'm near the Twin Cites which is only about a little over an hour away. There's a vast array of things to do there. Also nearby the Twin Cites is the Mall of America which is an amazing place to visit.

    Food and Dining

The food plan is great for those who want easy access to food. In my opinion, the price per meal of the food plan for the cafeteria is a little expensive for my taste but it's worth it if you eat a lot and don't mind mostly the same options over time.

    Dorm Life

The dorm life at MNSU is good. The dorms are located perfectly so that food and classes are easy to access. There are lounges located on each dorm floor which is amazing for group studying, hanging out, and meetings. Also, everything is up to standards in cleaniness.

    Academic Rigor

To get good grades require a lot of studying outside of class depending your major, but MNSU has a lot of sources that you can use for help. There's academic advisors, free tutor time, fellow students, etc. I rate the academic rigor a 3 out of 5 with 5 being the hardest because of all the help you are able to receive.

    In three sentences

Has a very good atmosphere. A school that is not too big nor too small. Good learning environment for those who want it.

    ANYONE!

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved!! Don't sit in your dorm at all the first few weeks; go out there and make friends! Everyone else will be friendless at first and looking for friends so that is your opportunity! Having friends can be the difference between crying all semester and having so much fun you don't know where the semester went.

    Bang for the buck

You get what you pay for... So, as far as the actual classes go, it's not the best education; however, everything else is great---there are a ton of student organizations and activities and a huge library--lots of opportunity. The food sucks though...

    Am enjoying being here

I've gotten involved in different clubs and organizations, have made a lot of friends, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here.

    Am learning a lot

I expected college to be a bit harder, honestly. So far, I've barely hard to do much to earn my A's, and I don't consider myself a mastermind or a genius. I think, however that the only reason for this is because I'm taking a lot of intro classes that aren't supposed to be at a difficult level yet. Having friends in upper-level classes, I know that it won't always be this easy. The teachers are hit or miss; I have some amazing ones, and some not-so-great ones. Included on the not-so-great list is my professor that no one can understand due to his thick accent and my professor that only talked about himself every class period. But in general, the courses are well organized and challenging, and I like it here.

    Social, academically driven

    Tips for prospective students

-Have your priorities in order. -Don't follow the crowd, be your own person because everyone doesn't have your same needs. -You don't have to constantly study and work. You can still have fun just choose to in a clean way.

    Bang for the buck

Because I learn so much, prices would be related too, but it's a good thing the school offers so much financial aid. It's all worth every nickel.

    Am enjoying being here

The main part that I love about MSU is how much you learn in courses. It doesn't matter what class you take, in some way it will eventually facilitate you in the future in some way, shape or form. I know I'll benefit.

    Am learning a lot

At first, I had an unclear perception of how the academic aspect of college worked. I even thought it would be a bit similar to high school classes. I stood corrected. Beginning classes of different subjects, I had learned so much about the history of art and of the Western Civilization around the time of the Renaissance, Spanish, many many things in Psychology, things in Math I never knew and glad I now know, astronomy, biology, aspects of English paper writings such as rhetorical analysis, how to become a leader in the community and even how to succeed as a first year student. And this was all in the first year!

    All types of students.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply early. Attend orientation earlier to select from a large choice of classes. Have an idea of what type of major you want when you get here. And if you have a few in mind, look at the courses needed for them all and take an intro class from each your first year. Also, get involved!

    Bang for the buck

You get what you pay for. For paying half the price of many other schools, the education is still up to par with them. And you save money that you can spend later in life.

    Am enjoying being here

There are tons of on campus activities and things to do all the time. Big movies are played for free for students a few weeks after they come out in theaters. There is a bowling alley (often free during events) and really nice sports/exercise areas. There is always something to do or someone to talk to.

    Am learning a lot

Very helpful teachers seem to be present regardless of the major you choose. They have fun while you learn something along the way. While there are some not so great teachers, you have a class of students in there with you, working together you can get through it. Some of the situations are due to budget cuts - not the school's fault, so you just have to take changes in stride. But there are some great teachers here!

    Tips for prospective students

The first idea that comes to mind would be to shop around. Whether it is books, school supplies, and etc, see how much the item in several different locations. (ex; Ebay, Amazon, Campus Bookstore) Also, consider how much it is used and how much it is new. You do NOT always have to buy new books . The money you save from purchasing wisely WILL help you in the long run. Secondly apply early and get your supplies as soon as you can. If you wait until the last minute, you might end up paying top dollar for something you could have gotten cheaper. Thirdly, apply for as much finacial aid as you can. Even though you may not win ever single one, every little bit helps.

    Bang for the buck

Thanks to the banded tuition, I can take 12 to 18 credits for the same price. Of course this means that I have to purchase more books with more classes. Also, there is a plethora of financial aid available for students. If you are capable of receiving any financial aid, it lightens the load of the overall cost.

    Am enjoying being here

The teachers are friendly and always willing to help you if you are struggling. Thanks to the relatively small class sizes, my instructors are capable of not only giving everyone individualized attention but also addressing the entire class.

    Am learning a lot

MSU is an amazing college to attend. I am a graphic design major and since beginning my classes, my overall ability to draw and use different mediums has drastically improved. Every class offers a challenge and is a great learning experience for anyone willing to put forth the effort.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for students who are willing to study while also open to meeting new people.

    Tips for prospective students

Some tips are: 1. Don't be afraid to break out and make new friends. You can keep high school friends and make new ones. 2. Really look into what you are looking for in a college. Don't go just because it's a party school, or the reputation of the school. 3. Study! If you study, you will get good grades. If you don't you will fail. Easy as that. 4. When choosing between schools, follow your heart. I have had a lot more fun here because its what my heart told me, not me head! 5. Finally, make sure to have fun.

    Bang for the buck

I think the price of this school is worth what we are getting. You can tell they make sure you are getting what you paid for. They are building new dorms, that are extremely nice. They also remodeled the older ones. So all the dorms are nice and worth the money. There is many food options for students. There is the cafeteria which offers different food all the time. There is also the CSU, where there is many options like Chick-Fil-A, or Taco Bell. The school is worth the money I am paying for.

    Am enjoying being here

I am enjoying it here. It is really easy to make friends here if you live in the dorms. Kids the first week will walk around and walk into other peoples rooms just to make friends. The dorms also have a lot of activities going on. Another great way to make friends.

    Am learning a lot

I am learning a lot. The professors are really helpful and easy to talk to. They also teach extremely well. If your professor is busy and is unable to help, there is tutors. Sometimes the tutors teach a little different than the professor, but you are still learning a lot that way. The class sizes are not to big. Mine average about 45 per class and I only have one big lecture hall. If you are having trouble in classes there is mentors on the floor of the dorms. They help a lot and can find other kids in the same class, on your floor, that can help you.

    Am enjoying being here

Living on a floor of all girls can be really hard, so the stress level is exhausting. Thankfully, there are many other things to do.

    Am learning a lot

The Science lectures are really packed. It is hard to focus with nearly 800 students in a lecture hall

    What to do for fun

there are activities on campus every wednesday nite for students that live in residence halls and larger campus-wide events monthly. you could find someplace to go hang out and have a good time every nite of the week if you really wanted here; the city of mankato is just as active as campus.

    Food and Dining

the caf food really isn't that bad. there are times when i don't find anything i want to eat in the main cafeteria but then i just go to one of the specialty shops and get food.

    Dorm Life

dorm life is the best! all freshmen should, in my opinion, live in the dorms. it is the best way to get to meet people and to get involved. sure, you might have roommate issues, but that's a part of life.

    Academic Rigor

i honestly feel that the classes here are manageable for anyone that takes the time to do the work. i average about 2 hours of homework a nite and maybe 3 or 4 on the weekends. i think my classes, personally, are a little hard but that's because i know i could devote more time to them and i am taking high courses for my age group.

    Tips for prospective students

get involved! join a varsity team, club, intramural team; take a class that's outside your usual boundaries. you'll never know if something is for you until you try it.

    In three sentences

msu-mankato is a very friendly and lively campus with helpful people and fun events everywhere. there are so many helpful resources on campus that i have yet to discover them all. i absolutely love being a student here and do not plan to transfer.

    Food and Dining

the food could be improved. it's a very repetitive menu. i often find food is undercooked and portions are small.

    Dorm Life

it's very different, there is not a lot of personal space. it's a huge adjustment, but at the same time it is where you meet a lot of people and make connections with your floor mates.

    Academic Rigor

classes are challenging. homework takes up a large amount of my time during the week.

    Tips for prospective students

    Campus Safety

Security is moderate. Campus security patrols the campus randomly throughout the day. Residence halls are set to card access only, although most people will let in strangers who wait outside. Theft/Assault is set to a minimum, with maybe one or two assaults per year. Theft seems to be slightly more common, but for the most part not an issue.

    Greek Life

Available, but not a strong emphasis.

    Clubs and Activities

Various clubs, should go to the campus hub to learn more.

Great for these types of students

Students that are more down to earth and mostly just seeking an education.

    Bang for the buck

This is not a very prestigious college, and there for the prices are better than most, although you are getting what you pay for...

    What to do for fun

The gym & pool are free access for students, but only when not in use for classes. Billards & bowling re available for an extra fee. Kaoroke nights occur on a weekly basis. Anything else is pretty much located off campus.

    Food and Dining

Although they have various things to choose from, menus are recycled about every 1-2 weeks, so in reality you'll be eating a lot of the same food over and over.

    Dorm Life

There is a selection of dorm residence halls to choose from. All I can say is you get what you pay for. Well not necessarily true... Dorm housing is expensive, but the more you are willing to pay the more you are accomadated.

    Academic Rigor

It really depends on your major and the classes you choose to take.

    Tips for prospective students

The advisers often seem to be of little use. They really don't seem to care about the students below them and put little effort into helping students. Don't rely on them for checking over your schedule to see if you're taking the right classes to graduate in the recommended amount of time. They will most likely say yes. They also don't concern themselves with answering emails. If you would like to get in touch you will physically have to hunt them down. It doesn't really concern them, and the school benefits from keeping you there longer. This may not be true for all advisers, but I have noticed this behavior from mine and a few of my friends have had the same problems with theirs.

    In three sentences

Delivers a pretty good learning environment with average professors for a understandable price. Couldn't say I have any complaints or praises for this school. It's pretty much what I would call average...

    Food and Dining

The food options MSU provides are phenomenal. If you're one to eat a lot in one day, they have a meal plan that allows you to go to the cafeteria as often as you please, as well as including some flex dollars that you can spend at the convenience stores they have in each of the dorm halls. The varieties are endless with everything from pasta, to vegetables, to burgers and sandwiches made to your liking, and a huge salad bar filled with toppings. For desert there is a fun area to make your own sundae with four different types of ice cream each day and many toppings to satisfy your taste buds.

    Dorm Life

The dorms here are so nice! They are clean and comforting, which is really great to have, especially as a freshman when you are not used to being away from home. You feel comfortable and meet so many great people. I have bonded with all the girls on my floor and have had a successful year. I am looking forward to next year living off campus!

    Academic Rigor

Some classes allow a little more relaxation as far as time and effort go. This is really nice because then you can get a solid balance of difficult classes that involve more time and effort, but can still fulfill the credits you'd like without overwhelming yourself.

    Tips for prospective students

It is such a great opportunity that MSU gives here and by attending you will get to be apart of that greater goal of reaching your aspiring goal.

    In three sentences

I love the academic opportunities given here as well as the wonderful teaching staff that support each class. The dorms are clean and very proactive with the students. Also, the campus is beautiful and has lots of interesting architecture that catches your eye when you walk through the different building.

I have always felt safe however there have been situations on campus that were very frustrating due to the way they were handled.

    Clubs and Activities

    Great clubs!

    Bang for the buck

You get a great educational experience for a decent price compared to private schools.

    What to do for fun

There are many activities on campus and in town. The clubs here are great and offer many new experiences.

    Food and Dining

It's standard cafeteria food. It's pretty standard for a college.

    Dorm Life

The Residence Halls are decent and have nice living areas. However the management of the dorms and how they are run is absolutely terrible. When I say this I mean the upper level employees such as the directors of the program. Community Advisers are quality people and have your best interest at heart.

    Academic Rigor

Depending on your program of studies this university can be easy or hard. It really depends what you are going to study.

    Tips for prospective students

Have a decent GPA and ACT score. A score of 22 will automatically put you in the accepted list. However a lower score will should get you in as well. I know of people with ACT scores as low as 17 that were admitted to the university.

    In three sentences

It's a good place to learn. It has ups and downs but overall it's just like any other University. I recommend it for people looking to learn.

    Campus Safety

While there have been a few issues, overall, the safety on campus is pretty good. MSU also has a great Campus Security system that's available 24-7 for students. Whether it's a safe walk across campus or jump starting a car at 7am, Campus Security is definitely there for its students.

    Greek Life

MSU has it! While they don't have houses for sororities, they do for the fraternities. Both groups are active on campus.

    Clubs and Activities

MSU has loads of student activities and organizations. If they don't have it, you can start it! They have everything from LGBT club to Republican club to Vietnamese club. You'll definitely be able to find something that matches your interests.

Great for these types of students

MSU has fantastic nursing, aviation, dental hygiene, and psychology programs, so definitely check those out if you're interested in these areas. There is also an Honors program for students who wish to challenge themselves and develop their leadership, global citizenship, and research skills.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There is a Homecoming parade every year in which campus organizations, local organizations, and local businesses create floats and often hand out free things.

    Bang for the buck

Compared to other state schools, Mankato is really reasonable. There are also many scholarships available to students.

    What to do for fun

There are many events every week all over campus, so it's pretty hard to get bored. There are many student groups that hold events, from everything to speakers to bringing in exotic animals. Also, at the Maverick Bullpen, students can bowl, play billiards, and play games for reduced rates. Students can also get in free to most sporting events with their Mavcard, and there are many athletic events each week throughout the semester. Bulletin boards all over campus let students know what's happening on campus and throughout Mankato and these are great places to look for activity ideas.

    Food and Dining

At first, the food was great. As the year went on, the food got worse and became bland. There were never a lot of fruit options (only apples, oranges, and bananas) so if you're a fruit lover, stock up at local grocery stores. Also, the hours were weird on the weekends, so make sure to get a to-go box and stock up on food, especially if you have a job and can't visit the dining hall whenever you want to. There are several other dining locations on campus, but they can be expensive. Insider tip: the bookstore often has a clearance section with snacks and other food items. You can often stock up on awesome food choices for a low cost.

    Dorm Life

I highly recommend living in the dorms at least one year and having a roommate that you didn't know previously. There are many activites each week that everyone living in the dorms can attend and these are excellent ways to meet new people.

    Academic Rigor

General Education courses are pretty basic, but can have tedious work. Stay on top of your work and don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. As you get into your major, courses become more challenging. It's definitely manageable.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not be afraid to ask questions. Professors have office hours for a reason: to help YOU! Use these visits as a way to better understand the material and develop a better relationship with your professor. During your time here at MSU, you'll need to have at least a mentor or two, so it's always a good idea to get to know your professors.

    In three sentences

MSU-Mankato is a fantastic place to learn. It offers its students a warm, friendly campus with professors and staff that truly care about their students. There are many ways to meet other students and get involved with activities.

    Campus Safety

Knowing that it was going to be pitch black outside when I would leave class at 9:45 p.m., I was always thinking about what if. Well I didn't need to worry about that on campus as the campus is really lit up at night and walking to my vehicle I always saw at least 1 or 2 security people checking out campus, so that was always a great feeling knowing that someone was out there keeping it safe.

    Clubs and Activities

Numerous clubs and activities for any student to belong to. There are always fliers hanging up and something going on every night of the week. You can never say there is nothing to do when you attend MSU because there are SO many things to do, you will have a difficult time just picking one or two to belong to.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Well if anyone is a Minnesota Vikings fan, this is the campus they come to each and every summer for their training camp. Come and hang out, watch them practice, maybe see them at the River Hills Mall or even get an autograph or two.

    Bang for the buck

Get involved with a variety of clubs that are on campus. Whether it be the Corrections Club or SADE or numerous other clubs on campus. The more you are involved, the better your resume looks when applying for jobs.

    What to do for fun

There is a bowling alley on campus and I am an avid bowler. There were also activities throughout the year that were held on campus. My personal favorite was the stage performance of Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues. In addition, there are several things to do surrounding campus as well.

    Food and Dining

The very few times I did grab a bite to eat in the cafeteria -- I would recommend Taco Johns or the Sub place. Both are priced fairly well and the food was delicious. I did not care for the Chicken place as the food was not always hot enough under the heat lamps.

    Dorm Life

This did not apply to me as I commuted each day.

    Academic Rigor

Professors choose books that are up to date and hold the interest of the reader. For the majority of the classes I was in, there were projects that were completed each semester which would allow the students to prove their retention of the material. The projects would also allow for students to express their creativity among various levels and styles of media.

    Tips for prospective students

You are paying for your education, so put the effort into your work. Group projects are in just about every Major, so my suggestion would be that you respect the members of your group and realize that it needs to be a group effort and not a one-sided project. Participate in class discussions, your professors enjoy knowing that you are learning and retaining what they are teaching.

    In three sentences

Could offer more of the major core classes in the evening as I am a non-traditional student working full time and evening classes were my only option most semesters. I had EXCELLENT professors in the Behavioral Sciences Department except for one that I would not recommend. Overall the university has very helpful ancillary staff.

    Greek Life

    Clubs and Activities

There are a lot of clubs-too many to name

Great for these types of students

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Attend all of the sporting events and get a yellow tag-you get free prizes!

    Bang for the buck

Living in the nicer dorms was worth it, and for everything they have to offer I think this college is very reasonable.

    What to do for fun

They have different activities going on almost every night-bowling, movies, concerts, the rec center.

    Food and Dining

I got tired of the caf eventually with the unlimited plan, not enought fruits, veggies, or variety.

    Dorm Life

If you live in the nicer dorms it's not bad at all, but the dorms without air conditioning aren't the best.

    Academic Rigor

Depends on the class-Chem and Astronomy are very rigorous. But in general if you work very hard and communicate with your professors you should be alright.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't get the unlimited meal plan, get a meal plan with more flex dollars so you can eat at the CSU and get to choose more of what you want. I got really tired of going to the Caf at the end of the year. Don't stress about switching majors if you have to eventually, all of the advisors are very nice and are always willing to help you succeed. When in doubt ask your professor if you will actually pass the class before getting out of it, and if he/she says you are going to fail get out of it before it's too late and you have to pay for nothing.

    In three sentences

MNSU is a smaller college, but it is still big enough to meet plenty of new people. It also helps with the class size, so it's easier to talk to your professor. It has my major that I am working towards, and it is a great program. I really like being at this college, it's close enough to my home yet I'm still being an adult and doing things on my own.

Over priced for the education that is given; and tuition continues to rise.

    What to do for fun

Join an intramural or go on one of the many trails that surround Mankato or go to any one of the number of parks in the community.

    Food and Dining

While the options at the Grill and in the CSU have expanded, the prices are over priced for the quality of food that is served.

    Dorm Life

Over crowded, loud, and the pay for parking is horrible.

    Academic Rigor

While some classes may be challenging, the majority of the reason per as to why is because professors don't explain expectations of the assignments nor do they fully teach subjects.

    Tips for prospective students

I would reccomend looking into other colleges. There is very little that is positive about MNSU- Mankato.

    In three sentences

This college has too many students for the faculty that is actually hired. There is very little one-on-one interaction with professors. A majority of the majors have huge budget cuts and the education the students are receiving has suffered.

This school is great for any type of student whether you are an outgoing person or an introvert. There are many people to meet and they are all really friendly.

One of my favorite places at MSU-Mankato was the gym. The gym is two stories. The lower floor contains the swimming pool, the basketball courts, and the large weight room. While the upper level contains all the exercise materials and an indoor track. The reason it was one of my favorite places was because every equipment contains a computer that allows you to do your homework or watch tv while exercising.

    What to do for fun

There are always different activities going on at campus. The students involved in IMPACT are the once that are in charge of throwing great events for entertainment. Not only that but there are also many school organizations that throw there own event and everyone is always welcomed! In the school campus there is also a ropes course, rock climbing wall, cosmic bowling, arcade, and a swimming pool.

The dining room is exceptional. There are always different foods to choose from. The cafeteria opens from 7am to 8pm and you can eat anytime you want to eat and as much as you want to eat. There are also many food courts in the CSU which range from coffee, taco bell, and many others.

    Campus Safety

Campus security is available 24/7. They patrol around campus. Throughout the campus there are these blue phone towers in which, if you feel unsafe walking by yourself or if you feel in danger, you press the button and one will come and help you. Campus security has also walked or driven those individuals who felt unsafe walking by themselves at night.

    Greek Life

Stay away from Greek life at Mankato (as I had stated above).

    Clubs and Activities

A huge variety of clubs to choose from. There are always activities going on around campus or in the community.

Great for these types of students

It is a great campus for LGBT individuals and people from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.

    Bang for the buck

For a four year university this school is cheap. You can get a good education for half the price of other four year universities. On average for undergraduate without housing, it is $3.500 a semester($6,000-$7,000 a year). With housing you are looking at $6.000-$7.000 a semester ($12;000-$14.000 a year).

    What to do for fun

People would go to plays, games that are hosted by clubs, and go to sporting events. Around Mankato there are a variety of restaurants and two movie theaters. The WOW zone in Mankato had everything from mini-golf to bowling to laser tag. There is also downtown Mankato, which is home to many bars.

    Food and Dining

For cafeteria food, it is about what you expect. It is, however, better than high school cafeteria food. The eating areas are not bad and the ease of access to which you can get your food is convenient. Depending on the meal plan you choose, you can get a lot of food. You go there once and you can essentially eat a buffet. You can eat as much as you want. A lot of people would grab more food for their dorms to eat later.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is definitely an experience. It is a great way to meet people, especially if you are new to the Mankato area. However, people can be rude and loud while other try to study. A lot of vandalism of dorm and personal property. As of this year, Gage tower closed down. This has led to a housing crisis and housing is extremely competitive.

    Academic Rigor

Like all schools, there are those who are extremely studious and serious about college, and there are those who are not (there for the ride). I have noticed a lot more of academic laziness among the lower classmen students.

    Tips for prospective students

Avoid the sorority and fraternities. They have had a lot of trouble over the years. They have all been on academic probation (have low GPAs collectively) and have had issues with drugs and alcohol. Join more constructive clubs in which you do volunteer service (looks great on a resume).

    In three sentences

Mankato has excellent teachers and staff. There are a lot of resources offered by the college to help you succeed during your college career and beyond. A lot of organizations/clubs you can choose from.

    Food and Dining

The food and dinning it depends where you eat, and based on what you liekd to eat and your opinion. But the food in the main caferteria, I dislike eating there at times based on my opinion.

As for roommates, learn to be patient, you live there, but your roommate does too. Be respectful.

Mankato is not very academically rigorous, It doesn't mean people here are not smart. All university students are smart. I've noticed that Mankato is lenient with their requirements. They offer a lot of help for people that do not fit the average standards in whatever the subject it. I know it has a math class that is almost like a make up for not scoring high enough on math on your ACT or not passing math in High school. Most of the student are school focused and care about their academics.

    What to do for fun

It is fun walking around mankato when it is warm out, throwing snow at friends in the winter, or even just riding the bus and seeing where it goes. Every Wednesday there is a W.O.W (Whats On Wednesday) in the dorms, usually each are different between the dorms, but they have some fun activities that bring everyone closer together.

    Food and Dining

The dining center is a great place to eat if you are running low on money. It is good food, it can get tiring and old pretty fast, but they change it up enough that it is okay. There are many different varieties of fast food options on campus and close off campus.

    Dorm Life

The renovated dorms are great. The non-renovated dorms aren't that bad. The only time it is bad is early in the semester when it is hot out and the room gets hotter, but if you have a fan it isn't too bad. Other than that the dorms are a really good deal to meet people that are in your school and maybe even in your major.

Living off campus there is a free bus that will take you to school and back home for free because it is included in your tuition. Sometimes the bus is too full and not all students can ride the bus at a certain time. The parking is not the best because sometimes it is hard to find parking.

    What to do for fun

There are many events held in the Centennial Student Union most of them are free or inexpensive to attend. Almost every week a movie is shown in the auditorium and it is free to MSU students. Mav After Dark is a free event held each month with free bowling, billiards and other activities. There are also many cultural events to go to; food and entertainment is provided at a low price during these events. Nearby there are many parks to visit such as Sibley Park and Minneopa Falls State Park.

    Food and Dining

Eating too much food from the dinning hall can make you sick because eventually you eat the same thing over and over again. The food can be very fattening base on your eating habits. The best place to eat at is in the Centennial Student Union or at Chet's Place although it can be pricey.

    Dorm Life

Try to live on a learning community floor, you will have class with most of the people on the floor and can form study groups. Living in a learning community helps you academically and socially when you first enter college. Also the walls are thin in the dorms and you can easily hear people from the next room.

    Academic Rigor

The teaching and grading styles varies due to the professors, some of them will be more lenient than others.

    Tips for prospective students

College is what you make it so try new things. Join clubs that interest you, there will some you will not like and there are some you will love. Clubs are a great way to meet new people and an opportunity to get involved in the community. Manage your time well and go to class. Make friends in class they are great resources

    In three sentences

Mankato State is a medium size school where most classes have less than 50 students. This school has many active groups on and off campus. The students and teachers are diverse.

    Campus Safety

    The security is good.

    Greek Life

I know a lot of people who are involved in sororities and I haven't heard anything bad! It seems fun!

    Clubs and Activities

    There's something for everyone.

Great for these types of students

    Any kind.

    Bang for the buck

I think the school is reasonably priced. Tuition is at an all time high, but this school tries to keep it low. I'd have to do more research on it in order to really know the facts, but I do think the meal plans are over-priced. One more nice thing is that you can ride the city bus anywhere in Mankato because it is paid for with a student fee in tuition. This is nice because you don't have to pay for parking then.

    What to do for fun

There are always events on campus and the down-town area, though it's not always super busy, is beautiful. The D1 hockey games are the best.

    Food and Dining

Sodexo is the food service provider for the school. They do a decent job. I wish they had more variety but they always have good cereal and nutella.

    Dorm Life

If you live in a renovated hall, the closets are really nice and we have our own sinks in our rooms.

    Academic Rigor

The challenge presented by the course depends on the type of course and the professor. Astronomy 102 requires a lot of studying, and so does Calculus I (Math 121), but Calculus is Calculus.

    Tips for prospective students

Live in the dorms; it really is the best way to make friends the first year.

    In three sentences

Overall my experience at Mankato has been good. The University is not too big and not too small. The cost is alright for the quality.

    Food and Dining

The food is pretty generic food. The rotating schedule provides just enough variety that you'll not be left in the dust if you decide to go with a full meal plan, but you'll probably want to bring your own food or go out and buy it at nearby shopping centers after a while.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are great. Your choices for what you want are endless, meaning you can choose the amount of space, features, and where you are based on your preferences and your price range. Great place to live.

    Academic Rigor

As far as I can tell, the classes offered here are about the same as any other school you could find. If anything, compared to other cheaper colleges, the classes have a much greater variety and rigor to them that would be missing if you were to attend a community college.

    What to do for fun

I recommend exploring Mankato itself. It is a beautiful town and spending time down by the rivers was my favorite thing to do. We would get a group together and spend the day at the beach or hang out in the dorms and watch a show we all loved. Make friends, which isn't hard, because that will make the college experience so much better.

    Food and Dining

The food wasn't terrible like many students will claim. Yes, it was cafeteria food and nothing more, but there were plenty of options that made it nice. The dining area was great to catch up with friends for an hour or so, seeing as it was buffet style you could go get more food as much as you wanted.

    Dorm Life

The community advisers made dorm life fun and worthwhile. I made wonderful friends because of the dorms and would definitely recommend living in them for at least your first year.

    Academic Rigor

The classes were challenging, especially the higher level (200, 300, etc.) ones, but the professors were accessible enough that it wasn't impossible to pass.

    Campus Safety

There have been some incidents on campus such as armed robbery and assault, but those happened in the very early morning around 3am. Overall campus safety does a very good job in keeping the students safe. There are call boxes spread across campus and security is always willing to lend a hand if needed.

    Bang for the buck

At Mankato you get what you pay for if not a little less than what you paid for. It is an average campus for average tuition.

    What to do for fun

I enjoy going to the gym, Mankato also offers a lot of different clubs and intermural sports to join. For those who do not enjoy sports there are campus dances and lots of planned activities throughout the school year.

    Food and Dining

They have a nice meal plan options being that the meals are a buffet, but the food is average and get quite repetitive.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are average. Nothing special and the overall quality of your stay depends on your floor mates. Dorms are well kept by the custodial staff and other workers are very friendly. Only issue I have with the dorms is the noise and occasional drunk persons.

    Academic Rigor

Class difficulty obviously depends on which classes you are taking, but I have found that most of the professors are very willing to answer questions and explain if you don't understand something. If that doesn't work you can always go to the tutors in the basement of the library.

    Tips for prospective students

Join a club! The more involved you are on your campus the more fun you will have and more friends you will meet.

    What to do for fun

Right on campus there are so many opportunities to stay busy, non-academically. Volleyball courts, intramural sports, the gym, swimming pool, racquetball courts, billiards room, bowling alley, and karaoke bar all on campus! If none of those interest you, there is an ice skating rink that isn't too far from campus, and the you can ride the bus for free to the mall to see a movie or go shopping. Other kids are always up for meeting new people, and there are lots of movie nights that are open to everyone. We all cram in someone's living room or dorm and get to know each other over a marathon of the best movies. It's a blast!

    Food and Dining

As with any school cafeteria, there are things that could be improved. But in the CSU, we have what's called MAVAve, which is like a food court that's separate from the cafeteria. There are many choices, and I find the food there really tasty. Taco Bell, a sandwich shop, Chik-Fil-A, and a grill that has your basic burgers and French fries, and then rotates soups vegetables and main courses. It's super good and it's reasonably priced so I never think twice if I am hungry and happen to be headed that direction.

    Dorm Life

I feel like I don't have jurisdiction here, because I didn't live in the dorms my first year. Technically, I still live on campus and I have a CA but I'm living in Stadium Heights, so I have the luxury of having an apartment. But I definitely enjoy living on campus. You have easier access to resources and it's a lot easier to meet people when you get stuck living next to and with people that you didn't know before!

    Academic Rigor

It all depends on how much you challenge yourself. If you take all super easy classes, then obviously you won't be too stressed. But if you challenge yourself and find yourself struggling, there are tutoring centers and help in the library for almost anything that you might need help with. There's always someone here to help you be successful, you just need to know the right place to ask for help. You can be successful academically no matter what level classes you choose.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't take freshman year for granted. Make sure you're still doing your homework. Starting bad habits early just sets you up for failure. But don't forget to get involved! There are so many opportunities out there just waiting for you. Jump on them before it's too late!

    In three sentences

MNSU has great programs and resources to help all of the students here be as successful as possible! There are plenty of groups and clubs to get involved to meet new people, and if you don't like something, you're not judged just for trying. MNSU is a great school to be a part of!

Join clubs! They're a great way of meeting new people. Same with joining your community council, if you decide to live in the dorms. There's tons to do on campus, you just have to find them.

    Food and Dining

The food in dining services are okay. They aren't too bad and since you've already payed for a meal plan you may as well eat it. If anything, get the 160 meal plan; that way you can convert meals into flex dollars, which you can use on campus.

    Dorm Life

I definitely living in the dorms for the first year of college. Since you'll be on campus for most of the time, it gives you a chance to familiarize yourself with all the buildings and the layout of the campus. It definitely helped me out as a freshman.

    Dorm Life

    Academic Rigor

From what I saw when I visited the campus, everyone is academics first. They push for excellence & its what the students strive for. It's nice to see the classrooms fairly small. More one-on-one with the professor.

    Tips for prospective students

Have everything you think you will need in hand. Always be prepared because most likely they're going to ask you for something you may not ordinarily have on hand. Don't be scared to make friends. Its a small campus compared to my school that I attended in Texas, so you may see the same people often. A lot of people are willing to help you, so if you have a question, don't be afraid to ask.

    Campus Safety

The university takes the safety of its students seriously. There are blue polls all around campus; whenever you're in an emergency, you run to one and push a button, immediately help is on it's way. There are patrols and security around the campus as well and whenever you have a question, you can easily find a person on campus or in the security office in the main student union.

    What to do for fun

Minnesota State University, Mankato has a lot of events that you can attend. But if it's outside campus activities you're talking about, how about shopping at the River Hills Mall? Or maybe attending one of the many art displays in the city. In the winter time, Mankato puts on a beautiful lights show in Sibley Park. If these don't sound exciting, there are so much more you can do around the city.

    Food and Dining

Dorms are connected to the main dining hall which makes it easier to get food. There are many varieties in the dining hall. Every day there is a different hot dish, main dish, etc. But if you're not feeling the dining hall, there are many other food courts around campus that you can go to.

    Dorm Life

I love the dorm life. There are many things that I do with my floor. Floor gatherings and outings are what connects everyone together. We go out to events around campus, and by doing so, we learn more about each other and create friendships.

    Academic Rigor

It's not too hard but it's not too easy as well. There are some classes that will have you working night and day to understand and others where you're able to understand it within minutes and move on. But I guess, it all also depends on your professor.

    Tips for prospective students

Minnesota State University, Mankato has many extracurricular activities. Joining some, or even one, will help you enjoy your time on campus even more. There are events throughout the campus that you can attend which will help get to know the campus life. On an academic note, if you ever need help, there are many people, teachers and tutors, who will take time out of their day to help you; you just need to make an effort to ask for it.

    Campus Safety

Security is always driving around. If you ever feel unsafe walking somewhere, call them and they will escort you there.

    Clubs and Activities

There are so many clubs to get involved with. You can also start your own.

Great for these types of students

You want a campus that is relatively small in size so it is easy to get from class to class, yet has a large student body so there is always someone new to meet.

    Bang for the buck

This school is not very expensive and if offers a lot. Such as, free presentations, concerts, and a library with amazing resources for research projects and papers. You can get your degree here without being loaded with student debt. There are also a lot of job opportunities on campus and in town to help keep costs down.

    What to do for fun

Join a club or organization! Go to sporting events. Also, the University has a really awesome rec center to work out, play games, and hang out with friends. In town there is a mall that you can get to by using the bus (free to students). There are plenty of restaurants, stores, and even nature trails to keep you busy.

    Food and Dining

The actual dinning hall food isn't too bad, but the options are limited from day to day. The flex dollar aspect is great. The University has a lot of other places to eat that are really good, and you can use your flex dollars which are part of your meal plan.

    Dorm Life

I personally am not a fan of living on campus. It is clean and nice for the most part. I just feel it is more expensive than it needs to be. The internet and wifi are not so good. For a school that utilizes D2L where a lot of assignments are turned in online, I feel that the internet should be better.

    Academic Rigor

100 level classes I found to be easy, but people who are in higher level classes have assured me it gets harder as your start working on your actual major and not generals.

    Tips for prospective students

Join an organization to make some great friends. Make sure you utilize your professors' office hours for help if you need it. Sit in the front row of class to better focus, and so your professor gets to know you. My biggest tip to prospective students who are trying to save money is to look into getting an apartment your first year. It is cheaper than the dorms and meal plans, and there are tons of places you can choose from. There are apartments partnered with the University you can look into as well that come furnished.

    In three sentences

The campus is a great size. Most of the professors are willing to help you out. The school is very nice visually as well, and I enjoy my time here.
