Categories Comments Great for these types of students Any students wanting to become more educated.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to ask questions. Many students think that they are not as smart as other students and therefore refuse to ask questions. Asking questions allows you to gather more information from other students and your professors.
Bang for the buck You definitely save a lot of money by going to this community college compared to others. Another community college tried robbing me of my money by not fulfilling my refund requests until I went through a lot of trouble to get my money back. Mission has given me my money's worth of education.
Am enjoying being here If you are able to access the internet, I highly suggest looking for professor reviews online. This way, you will get the best professors based on ratings and you will also get the best experience out of the courses.
Am learning a lot The professors organize the classes so that the students can easily understand the material. I love the hands on participation most of the professors incorporate into the classes.

Categories Comments Campus Safety on campus police services keep the campus safe, and the warning system via e-mail and text message helps keep everyone aware of any dangers on campus.
Greek Life there are no fraternities or sororities.
Clubs and Activities there are a number of clubs around campus, most notable are the school government and the sigma honors club for students with high gpa's.
Great for these types of students mission college is good for students who are just graduating high school but don't feel ready to transfer to a full university. it is welcoming, warm and friendly that is helpful for students to adjust to the college experiance.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the third floor has a balcony has a great view of the campus and provides a nice place to eat lunch on warm days.
Bang for the buck the school does its best to ensure you succeed and the staff is always willing to help.
What to do for fun there are numerous clubs and school functions happening through every semester. from blood drives to mini bazaars selling trinkets for a friend or lover it is a very social campus.
Food and Dining the cafateria at mission is about high school level but the food is usually cooked in front of you so you know it is fresh and how it was prepared.
Dorm Life mission college is a community college and has no dorms.
Academic Rigor the classes are challenging and ask students to do their best. most teachers try to encourage their students and help them to succeed without coddling them and having to baby sit.
Tips for prospective students prospective students should be sure to get all financial aid information in on time, and be sure to pick their classes as soon as possible to keep from being wait listed.
In three sentences mission college is a safe and very clean campus. the staff is friendly and helpful and the teachers are dedicated to their jobs. there is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere around the campus.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Low criminal rate although theft is the most common crime, I'm a victim of that. Be sure to keep an eye on all valuables, don't leave them in classrooms when taking a breaks. Small police station on campus and very few security guards.
Great for these types of students Quiet, enjoy studying in halls or small library, computers may be hard to get at times, and there is a lack of energy in the school so be sure to bring your own to get you through your day.
Bang for the buck The main building on campus is not impressive, it looks like it needs maintenance. The staff and offices do not really communicate with one another so be sure to be persistent in all matter concerning them.
What to do for fun Many groups, clubs, and organizations to join. Sport teams are also fun.
Food and Dining Great variety of foods although not always the best.
Dorm Life No Dorms
Academic Rigor Classes are not too demanding although the higher the difficulty the more demanding.
Tips for prospective students Patience and persistence is a must for being successful in Mission college. Don't allow for superfluous issues to intervene with your success and you will probably do must studying on your own due to high drop out rates. Speak or meet with professors BEFORE signing up for class, some professors are at the point of retirement but are in denial.
In three sentences School has very helpful and kind staff although they may not always communicate so they may make you go in circles at times. The high drop-out rate makes getting into classes difficult. Not many people are on campus before/after their class, so the campus is usually quiet.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is overall safe. The biggest problem we have here is theft. Many students get their bikes, laptops, iPods, and even cars stolen on campus.
Clubs and Activities Clubs are enthusiastic and always willing to recruit new members. Activities on campus, planned by our ASG, are well-planned but are heard unknown by busy students.
Bang for the buck The classes they offer at Mission Colleges are courses students take as their lower-division or GE classes at the UCs and CSUs. You're saving thousands of dollars going to Mission instead of going the UCs and CSUs.
What to do for fun Talk to your classmates if you really wanna have fun. Sooner than you think, you'll get some really close friends and make plans to hang out with them outside of class.
Food and Dining Great food but it's heavily over-priced. We still, however, have a variety of food to choose from. Because Mission College is next to Mercado, most students walk over to Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Subway, and In n Out for lunch.
Dorm Life Try to live with your parents. Period. This is a community college, don't go all out trying to get an apartment (save that money for when you transfer).
Academic Rigor Professors are incredibly kind and understanding. Many of them are starting out and young, making them approachable and considerate of their students' issues. The courses may not be simple but at least help is always provided.
Tips for prospective students Take advantage of the college's resources! Make sure you meet with a counselor to create your education plan and join clubs or organizations like MESA, Ecologic, AMSA, and CKI. Above all, make sure you apply for financial aid (one of the things you'll do and never regret!).
In three sentences One of best community colleges in the South Bay Area. Perfect for students hoping to eventually transfer into UCs and CSUs and trying to earn an associate's at the same time. Counselors and professors are easy to talk to, considerate, and extremely helpful.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I don't know how it is in the class rooms, but I know Mission has a huge parking lot at least 4, and there is always people patrolling and making sure every car has a pass, to show that they paid for parking.
What to do for fun There are sports, if you are interested. Classes you can take such in music or fitness.
Food and Dining There is one little food stand in the entrance of the main building. Its all fast food things you warm up in the microwave.
Dorm Life There are no dorms in Mission College
In three sentences Mission College does not help you sign up for attending their school. When I first arrived to MC, I noticed the students there varied in every age. I think MC should be more helpful to upcoming freshman.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students There are many things here great for different type of students! there is a music room, for students to practice if they are into music. a dance room for dancers or students who just want to learn how to move with the beat.
What to do for fun JOIN CLUBS!!! I cannot stress this enough, joining clubs will help you meet new people and become very active in school and also in the community.
Food and Dining The food here is amazing! There are many talented chiefs to make anything you want.
Dorm Life This is a community college so there really isn't a dorm life.
Academic Rigor I gave it 3 stars because there aren't many professors that will rigorously push you. But don't get me wrong they want you to succeed, and its all really up to you.
Tips for prospective students Get to know people!! You never know what one person can help you with. Don't be afraid to join clubs. Or embarrassed. It's okay to be active in school, if you want to transfer it will look good in your applications knowing you were so involved in school.
In three sentences I find everyone at mission college, very helpful. It's a very small school, so classes are very intimate. Professors are very helpful and always wanting and pushing you to succeed.

Categories Comments Campus Safety No real safety issues to speak of.
Greek Life Non-existent.
Clubs and Activities ASG is pretty good but the rest of the clubs are a bit spotty.
What to do for fun There is a movie theater within walking distance.
Food and Dining There is a cafeteria as well as a lot of places to eat within walking distance.
Dorm Life No dorms.
Academic Rigor Not too difficult to pass classes.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to talk to all the professors and build a repertoire. That way if there is ever a problem, all you have to do is ask.
In three sentences This school is great if you want to stay focused on school. The professors are extremely helpful, for the most part, and the class sizes make it possible to get almost individual attention. The campus itself is a bit dreary to be honest but that is the only real drawback.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Safe. Nothing has happened from the time I've been here. There's Campus Police on site.
Clubs and Activities Many different clubs to join like: LSU, ASG, and others. There's many activities. Different groups try to get all the student body involved.
Bang for the buck Not too expensive and worth every penny and then some.
What to do for fun There's plenty to do: There's Mercado 20 a couple minutes away. In Mercado 20 there's restaurants, a movie theatre, and a TJ Maxx. There's also a little plaza down the road that has some other restaurants. Nearby there's also Great America which is a fun amusement park. It's only open late spring and summer though.
Food and Dining Great food choices. Food is made on the spot and isn't too expensive. There's also a hospitality management program that makes delicious food on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is a little pricier but worth it.
Academic Rigor Some of the professors may not be to your bet fit, so check them on RatemyProfessor.com before applying to the class. All the classes you need are there and you can apply to as many as you want. There's different variety of classes and they're not all boring. You learn and it's actually fun.
Tips for prospective students If you plan on applying to Mission: do it ! This school gets bad reviews from people who haven't even been here but it is definitely a good school. Becareful on some of the professors. Check them on RatemyProfessor.com before applying to any classes. Also there's a program you can enter called Puente that helps you transfer to a four year university.
In three sentences Mission College has a great environment. There's different centers that are convenient for students and extremely helpful. It's quiet and safe and a great place to study as well.

In three sentences Mission is a wonderful school to attend, it quite, peaceful and the majority of the staff are helpful. I love attending Mission, it small, which is nice because most of the staff members that you interact with end up knowing your name. Mission also offers a lot of great programs like fire tech. nursing and restaurant management. I enjoy the fact that they have a whole department for students interested in transferring to a 4-year college.
