Friends you make in the dorms or from involvement in different school groups such as band are going to be your friends for a lifetime. Perk has a very relaxed, social atmosphere. The Events Coordinator in the Student Center always has an endless list of volunteer opportunities. One in particular is volunteering at Perk Elementary and reading to the students in the library or helping the PTA on Fridays for their Sale Day during the kids recess.
