There is lots of yummy food here. The union (a building located near the center of campus) has restaurants like chickfila, panda express, pizza hut, and starbucks. They also have a miniature grocery store. They have a number of cafeterias and restaurants on campus so there is always a variety.

The cafeteria starts out really well at the beginning of the year and then slowly declines in quality of food. They have a good variety of food available though. Mississippi State University also has the Student Union, which contains: Chik-Fila, Pizza Hut, Panda Express, Starbucks, a small grocery store, a frozen yogurt place, and a salad place. There is also a few other small restaurants scattered around the campus, such as Burger King and Subway. Off campus, Starkville holds many restaurants that appeal to most people.

Whether you are on the run or just want to sit down and enjoy a good home cooked meal, MSU has plenty to offer. Inexpensive and always fresh, Mississippi State doesn't let you down in the food department.

The bakery makes it's own baked goods and ice cream- fabulous! My husband and I got our groom's cake from the MSU bakery! The Union has a great variety of eateries to choose from and the Cafeteria has a wonderful buffet! There are several other little convenience stores around campus to buy snacks at too.

The cafeteria has pretty good food, and the Union has some okay stuff. I prefer a home cooked meal so I prefer the cafeteria. The hardest thing is figuring out who takes block meals and who doesn't. No one comes out and just says it, so you have to figure it out, but I guess that is part of being new on campus.

Food is great even though we have the same thing every week. You may get tired of having the same thing, but you could always leave campus and get something different.

The food is excellent. Not only do you get great choices of food but there are several different cafeterias across campus that you can visit for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Perry is the main campus cafeteria and it is a beautiful and unique building that has all kinds of food to offer from salad to nacho buffets, American grill, country soul food specials, international specialties, gluten-free menu, a bakery, ice cream bar, and all day omelet chef. Aside from that the other cafeterias offer the same basic daily meal and a variety of other dishes. The Union was recently remodeled and full of good restaurants.

Greek life does not overwhelm the majority of students so if you want to go greek you can but if you decide not to, you're not short on ways to get involved on campus.

There are 31 fraternity and sorority chapters at MSU. Many of those each have their own house on campus which are beautiful and incomparable to other universities. Fraternities and sororities are constantly hosting events and parties that is available to the general student body. Each fraternity and sorority chapter is also deeply involved in charitable organizations and activities that bring the student body together.

Greek Life is big around Mississippi State for Caucasians. However, for African Americans, the Greek experience isn't very exciting. You definitely will not get the HBCU Greek Life experience here.

The Greek life at Mississippi State has been very successful. Nearly one of sixth of the female population at Mississippi State are involved in a panhellinic sorority, and the numbers are lower but somewhat similar for males. Almost every Greek chapter at Mississippi State has been recognized on a national level for its camps, community, and philanthropic achievements.
