Categories Comments Campus Safety Student watch no centralized police but Havre Police is 5 blocks away. It is pretty quiet there other than an occasional drunk. No incidents when I was there.
Greek Life None
Clubs and Activities Lacking clubs
Great for these types of students Diesel Techs mainly then scientists and nurses.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Hilly, and quite some distance from the dorm to classes. You should leave 10-15 minutes early to get to class on time. Most professors will dock you if you're late.
Bang for the buck It is cheaper than the main campus but the school is much smaller overall. Not many fields but this is going to change over time. The new chancellor will be getting this school into the 21 century. This school was acquired by Montana State University, It was originally Northern Montana College.
What to do for fun Bowl, billiards, talking to my friends, hanging out in my wing.
Food and Dining It is like we was in high school, the food is not terrible just not very much of a selection unlike the main campus where you have 3 dining halls and 2 choices.
Dorm Life Dorm life is good, but the dorms are old. Now they are in the processes of being remodeled.
Academic Rigor I had 2 difficult classes but I did well with them. The professors are flexible if you communicate with them, and the Student Success is there to help you with classes you are
Tips for prospective students If you are going to pursue Computer Science then you are better off going to Bozeman. Otherwise if you go there and transfer you will have about 40 credits of catch up classes to get the graduating requirements to enter into graduation school to pursue the Masters/Doctrine. The diesel tech is excellent however the nursing school is lacking according to other students who I talked to. This school will be better now they got a chancellor who will turn this school around like he did to prior schools he led.
In three sentences It is in the middle of changes that will make this school better for students to attend. I enjoyed what I learned and one of my professors made his class both challenging and fun. Dr. Puisto proved to me that I can handle difficult classes and I give this school 4 of 5 starts.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I havent had an issues with safety here or heard of anyone who has
Clubs and Activities There is one fraternity and they offer several things through out the school year
Bang for the buck Northern is one of the cheaper Montana schools. I really feel like my money is well spent here.
What to do for fun The school has a bowling alley on campus. There is also a bowling alley here in Havre that is open to the public and there is a movie theater. Its a great place for people who enjoy the outdoors (Camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, ect.) My Favorite thing of all though is, The Northern Ball which is held every spring semester
Food and Dining I have eaten in the sub on occasion. The food is good and fairly priced
Dorm Life I have not lived in the dorms so I cannot comment in this area
Academic Rigor Classes can be hard depending on what your taking and how many credits you have for the semester. However, the instructors here are very helpful and very thorough. I think that they do want us as students to succeed.
Tips for prospective students Take the Study skills class offered your first semester Find a job with flexible hours Don't overload you schedule
In three sentences Northern is a good quality school. There are several opportunities offered here. All of the faculty are very helpful.
