    Bring something to keep you from dying from boredom during the long winter. Also, the winter's are colder than most other areas in the state. Teachers are available constantly for extra help and the learning center is always there to help with more difficult classes.

    Look into what the school can offer and try to get information from students about the school. Also attend as many tours that the school offers.

    Petroleum Engineering seems to be the dumping ground for athletic scholarship recipients. The other Engineering programs are excellent. There are some surprisingly good liberal arts professors to round out your education. Tuition caps at 12 units, so it's financially smart to take a full load.

    Stay with family if you can or find a roommate ASAP, while going to school here. Rent is expensive, dorms fill up quickly, and student housing is okay if you can get in.
