    MANAGE YOUR TIME! my freshman year second semester i was a tour guide for the school and every single tour i did i stressed to the students to manage their time meaning dont schedule morning classes if your not capable to make them all.

    This school is worth evert cent, there is alot to do in the area, its not in the middle of nowhere so youll love it GUARENTEED!

    i enjoy being here so much i am staying over the summer to work. I am currently volunteering my services in the admissions office, and with the pre-college program (casa program). I LOVE THIS SCHOOL!

    If you are financially down, love people, want to have a good time and learn all at the same time, you certainly should look into being a Morgan Bear.

    NETWORK! NETWORK! NETWORK! Morgan State is indeed a HBCU (Historically Black College) but that still does not mean the University is not diverse. This school has many different backgrounds of people coming from all types of life. So a tip from this sophomore, is to get to know people and learn from the different cultures. This advice is not just for Morgan State, but for anywhere you go. A open mind is the best mind. I would also recommend that you have a good communication pathway with your professors. This will help you get through college. Having the professors know who you are, are good for them, since they see you more than a student identification number, but more so as a individual.

    As a freshman in the begining of the fall semester I found a challenge finding how to adapt, but as the semester continued I started to enjoy it more and more and adapting and meeing people became easier.

    The teachers are quite intelligent, witty and know what they are doing. I can't stress enough how important it is to do your work, to do it good and on time.

    compared to other colleges and universities, morgan's tuition, room and board, and other fees are much cheaper. the saying, you get what you buy, does not apply to morgan state at all. although the fees are cheaper than a lot of other universities, you are definitely not getting a cheaper education.
    What to do for fun

    there are a variety of activities students can do for fun. aside from going to parties and clubs, the university hosts many events and activities such as talents shows, fashion shows, spoken words, etc. also, the residence halls offer a variety of events for their residents and guests such as wii nights, movie nights, rap sessions where every gets together and socializes, etc. if you were to ask students at this university what they can do for fun here, they will tell you that at morgan state university, there is always something to do!
    Food and Dining

    like every campus, food and dining is not perfect at morgan state university there are two main cafeterias, the refractory hall and the cafeteria in the student center. both places offer a variety of foods and a setting where students have the opportunity to sit back and do whatever they please. many times, students go into the dining halls to eat and socialize because the setting is comfortable. i would say that the food has it's ups and downs as any place that serves food does. but mostly, the food is delicious and always has me coming back for more, especially on fried chicken wednesdays!
    Dorm Life

    they say you meet all kinds of people when you go to college. living in a residence hall with all females has given me the opportunity to reach out and befriend many people, from all over the country. not only has my residence hall connected as one big family, but we have also gained a relationship with the other residence halls. all the residence halls have a unique relationship with each other and everyone is always striving to represent their residence hall because of how proud they are to live their. morgan state dorm and residence life is truly unique and special and i would definitely encourage anyone who has chosen to attend morgan to live on campus.
    Academic Rigor

    morgan state university has set fine standards and expectations for their students and faculty. since morgan state is one of the most well known hbcus in the state, they strive to ensure their students are doing their best academically and their faculty is doing their best to ensure that they are supporting their students on their path to a degree. from my experience, the faculty at morgan always takes the time to speak with me personally when i need to discuss grades, questions or any concerns in my classes. the faculty at morgan really go out of their way to create a personal relationship with their students to ensure that the students feel comfortable to come to them when in need and guide us. morgan state is excellent in setting standards and expectations for their students and faculty and is well deserving of our outstanding reputation as an hbcu.
    Tips for prospective students

    if you are considering attending morgan state university i advice you to take the time to check out all the opportunities morgan makes available to their students. many time hbcus are looked down upon but if you really looked into the university and saw what it's really like to be a morgan state bear, you'd see that this university has a lot to offer and is one of the best. even if you decide morgan is not where you see yourself attending, make sure you take the time to check all other options to find a school that is the best fit for you.

    morgan state university welcomed me with open arms before i even decided on attending. they say you should choose a school that you can see yourself attending and morgan state is definitely my second home. the students and faculty are completely one of a kind and genuine and i can't imagine myself attending any other university than morgan state.

    Always remember you are in school to receive your education. SCHOOL MUST COME FIRST!! There will be plenty of time for social activities and part time jobs AFTER you have completed your school work.

    In state tuition is not too expensive but of course it would be better if it was free :)

    Your college experience will be a much better one if you go in with a positive attitude and continue to have it. Some days you will get home sick but for the most part it really is a good place to be.

    As each semester passes I find that what i have learned in the previous semesters build a foundation for what I am currently learning. If you actually read your textbook you will find that your understanding of the lectures will be much greater.

    MSU is good for African American students looking to pursue engineering, students that are looking for a HBCU experience in the state of Maryland, and for students that are looking for a thriving party scene to release tension during college.
    Tips for prospective students

    1. It is probably better to take Math 113 and Math 114 instead of ENGR 101. 2. Take a medium course load during the first semester of your freshman year. It'll give you some time to get used to the environment. 3. Know yourself well enough to pick classes at times that work for you. Don't pick 8 am classes if you hate early mornings and don't pick night classes if you like your evenings free. 4. Pick friends that encourage you to study and want you to succeed. Good friends will help you get through college. 5. Talk to your advisor! They will help you do what you need to do in order to graduate on time. 6. Talk to upperclassman, they'll tell you which teachers to take and which ones to avoid!

    The engineering program at Morgan State is a really good program and my sole purpose for attendance. I do have one class that had a lack of organization that is potentially hurting the class as a whole in the long run. For the most part, the education that I'm getting is acceptable.
    Am enjoying being here

    I'm not really enjoying MSU. There is a lot of violence surrounding the campus and that's not something I'm used to. I'm also not much of a partier and that seems to be the activity of choice here. The school is not in walking distance of any other activities for the most part, unless you count Towson Mall which is accessible by the public transportation system.
    Am learning a lot

    While I am learning here at Morgan State, I can't say that the level of education is actually challenging. Emerging from an intense pre-engineering program , Project Lead The Way, the level of difficulty at Morgan is lacking the intensity I believed I would find on the college level.

    Morgan is great for those wanting to attend an HBCU and for those looking to attend a school where the teachers all want to see you succeed and are willing to help you in any way that they can.
    Tips for prospective students

    Get everything (housing, financial aid, etc) taken care of as soon as possible. You don't want to find yourself scrambling at the last minute; it creates too much of a headache. ASK QUESTIONS. You will never know unless you do. Make the effort to get to know your professors. Contrary to popular belief, they are not as hard-nosed as they appear to be. Schedule your classes wisely. If you are not a morning person, don't schedule an 8 AM class. You're college experience is what you make it. Get to know people, but at the same time know whether or not the people you meet will help or hinder your progress.

    Out of state tuition can definitely be a pain, but with scholarships I am able to go to school here for next to nothing. The Honors Department is willing to work with you to ensure that your college experience is not filled with financial worries.

    I am a member of various student organizations, and each one gives me something to do with my free time. I do not go to parties at all, and these organizations allow me to use my time wisely.
    Am learning a lot

    Along with the education I am receiving in the classroom, being so far away from home gives me the opportunity to really grow up. I have learned so much about myself in the year and a half that I have been here. I value the lessons I am learning while on this campus.

    before coming to morgan state make sure you have everything prepared before your arrival from getting housing to financial aid situated so your transition from home to school is a smooth transition. also manage your time well if you manage your time it really prevents you from being stress free. and remember to enjoy the experience your getting because its really one that you dont want to miss out on and will never forget.

    from the dorms to the classrooms you really get a good bang for your buck. while getting a great education you in end up enjoying everything around you. Morgan State is definitely a school that you want to have on your list with such great programs like in engineering and business, as well as the many extracurricular activities the campus provide for everyone to enjoy.

    If you plan on majoring in a science, I do no think this is the best college choice. The science department has changed the way labs are done, from using the lab manual to figuring it out on your own based on a minimal information.

    I transferred from an out of state college, and based on my experience here so far it was not very good. I had trouble with my Chemistry lab professor because when I asked him a question, he did not want to help and had a rather negative attitude towards our class.

    I learned a lot in my General Chemistry II and History 106 classes.

    Tips! Stay Focus on school! Get to know what you want and stay with what you believe! when making friends!     I pay out of state tuition, I do believe I should pay Less then what they want, Meal plans & Boarding and the other expenses could be either left out or cost less! but the tuition is a good price compared to other universities! But us! your money wisely when coming to Morgan. Your paying for your education! use every penny of it towards your education.

    At first, I was not a fan of Morgan. Until I got involved into organizations! And Learn more about the college. Morgan grows on you as you put your work into being part of the school.

    I Love My School! Everyone makes Morgan seem like a bad school because of its city, but it is all the opposite. Morgan offers lots of scholarships, and major programs. The professors are very helpful and understanding. There are also tutoring services and labs on campus for students 24/7. Morgan is also known as a party school, that is not true at all. As long as you follow through with your responsibilities, keep your grades up, and balance your time all of the activities on and off campus will not effect you. Go Bears!!!

    Definitely worth it for in-state students, not so sure about out-of-state students. If you have a good enough GPA, try getting into the Honors Program. Their standards are high, but the full scholarship is definitely worth the work.

    Despite being one of the few white students at an HBCU, I am quite comfortable. I have found no one who has been racist towards me, though I often get the question Why did you decide to come to Morgan?
    Am learning a lot

    The engineering program here is top-rate and has a reputation of producing unique engineers. In other words, Morgan engineers tend to be more creative, more productive, etc.

    To be grounded and know that it is okay to not know. Its okay to be somewhere and not know what you want to do for the rest of your life.     For the amount you pay to go to Morgan some things are pricey, but the University is working on that situation to make the university more affordable to the students. So its a working progress.

    Campus Safety

    campus is pretty safe, however; baltimore city is home to a lot of crime and morgan is located next to a few areas where crime is predominant. since we are an open campus students do have to be careful during certain hours of the night. however, there is a very significant and visible police force, and there is even a mobile alert system in place. in general most students feel very safe.
    Greek Life

    morgan state has a thriving greek life in which all of the divine nine original hbcu fraternities and sororities are flourishing. the highest numbers are in deltas, akas, kappas, omegas, and sigmas. there are also band, social, and other greek organizations. the various groups hold many on campus events from open mics and parties to scholarly luncheons.
    Clubs and Activities

    everyone will find something to do at morgan state. there are fashion clubs, sports clubs, art and film clubs, as well as the knowledgebowl club. aside from the extra curricular there are clubs focused on academics such as finance and accounting clubs. on campus there is a theater for movies, a gym for working out and recreation, practice fields for sports, and there is also a game room. these areas are frequented by students, but most students choose the sporting events as their main source of fun.

    students that want to try a new environment an get in touch with their culture. great for accountants, business majors in general, engineering majors, and philosophy majors to name a few. its also good for students who are outgoing because there are lots of opportunities.

    the promethean procession involves freshmen students carrying lit candles across campus. while this goes on upperclassmen try to blow out the student's flames. once across campus students count the number of times their candle has to be re-lit and this signifies the number of years they will spend at morgan.

    morgan graduates are hired at greater rates every year. morgan is one of the top four universities in terms of graduates that go on to earn a ph.d. there are many grants and scholarships based on need and merit as well. the major bang for the buck factor is noticed mostly after graduation when employers and graduate schools notice the weight and prestige that morgan brings.
    What to do for fun

    baltimore is a college town, and there is a lot to do for fun. baltimore collegetown is an organization that passes out pamphlets each year on what's trendy in the college scene. they also run a bus service that students can use to get to some of the attractions in baltimore. on offer is the baltimore harbor which has an aquarium, numerous concert venues, great eateries, and many bars for the seniors. there are also $5 friday night student games to support our beloved orioles. other sports fans can watch the ravens play or get involved in the numerous sports leagues around the city.
    Food and Dining

    students in dorms are required to have a meal plan for the two on campus cafeterias. the food is hit or miss, to be honest. the rawlings dining hall is the major cafeteria and offers options of two different hot entres, a burger and deli section, a salad bar, pizza line, cereal funnels, waffle makers, and beverages. we are sponsored by thompson hospitality who also work at towson and other maryland schools.
    Dorm Life

    dorm life at morgan is going through a few changes. there are currently four male residence halls and 2 female residence halls. most are old stone establishments that have been renovated. a focus is being made in fully renovating all dorms, adding full campus wi-fi, as well as beautifying the campus. morgan also offers off campus housing in adjacent apartment complexes owned by the school. these are usually more sought after for upperclassmen. the campus community is very neighborly and friendly. eventually students come to feel a home on campus as you get to know everyone.
    Academic Rigor

    as an honors student in the earl g. graves school of business and management i can attest to the rigors of academia at morgan. there is a steady course load in each class with focus on cognitive participation from students, not call and answer teaching. there are usually multiple tests and quizzes in a course as well as the midterm and final. most classes also involve a term paper or project to further test your knowledge. a multimedia approach is standard, and most classes will utilize blackboard which is an online web module that allows teaches to post assignments and videos online.
    Tips for prospective students

    when considering morgan look into applying for university honors scholarships these scholarships require you to maintain a minimum gpa of 3.0 while taking at least 15 honors credits, but they pay considerable amounts of money towards tuition to augment soaring college costs. another tip for prospective students is to consider what morgan can offer in their major. the earl g. graves school of business and management and the school of engineering enroll the most students. lastly, visit campus! take a tour, come on an unofficial visit, stop by, you should literally do all you can to acclimate yourself to campus and campus culture to make sure morgan is the place for you before your first week of orientation.

    This college speaks to African-American children who ever thought they were on the wrong pace in a predominantly white school. Often I hear students that went to predominantly black schools complaining that they've been around black people all their lives and that they are dissatisfied.

    Please stay on top of the status of your financial aid, do your FAFSA on time, call the Montebello Complex as many times as necessary to get your information straight and get all of your scholarships applied.

    Morgan Police can be found all around the unsafe areas. Especially at night. Its great.

    I'm sure it is a great experience. Every greek takes pride in their organization. Everytime greeks come on campus, it is always a nice sight to watch. You even want to pull out your camera!

    Every student will be great for our school. Morgan is very welcoming and they take pride in their school. Morgan staff is very friendly and like I mentioned before, anyone is the type for morgan!

    Honestly, there aren't too many unusual locations on Morgan's campus. It is opened to everyone and everyone takes that opportunity. There are not any locations that no one touches. Being a morganite lets me see how much the students love their campus.

    Coming into college is going to be the biggest change of your life. You will meet hundreds of people and you will have plenty of obstacles as well. Maintaining order and knowing who you are is most important. Do not change for anyone and know the reasons why you are in college. Morgan has a enormous amount of extraccurricular activites to get involved in. That's exactly what you want to do, get involved!
    What to do for fun

    Everything and anything you put your mind to will be fun at Morgan. You can join SGA and do activities no one has ever came up with. Volunteering is fun as well.
    Tips for prospective students

    Study, study, study! Balance your time wisely and always know that your education comes first. Have the best relationships with your professors because it is a possibility that you will need them down the line. They are there to help and assist you, not hurt you. Work hard and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

    DC is only minutes away, with great bus and train transportation. Attend the football games and all the other sports! Shopping is only seconds away.

    Although the sports are there school work comes first. Parties are awsome, but if you do have to study, then do that first, there will always be parties. Enjoy yourself!

    If you get along with your roommate, you will have a good semester. The dorms may look like prison halls, but its for your safety.

    Some classes may be easy, some may be hard. Even in an easy class, don't slack off. It will be shown in your work.

    Campus police pass through often. Police station right behind the school!, and emergency buttons all over campus with video cameras but off campus your on your own

    Every type of fraternity or sorority you can think of! they host a bunch of events and do great community service around the school

    Campus parties are cheap and fun, not to mention safe because of the campus security. Local clubs that have shuttle buses to pick up from the campus and drop back off House parties that are a whole lot fun until they get shut down Football and basket ball games Homecoming!!!     The breakfast is Great but early.The lunch and dinner is good sometimes they try to switch it up as much as possible.     Your living in a dorm full of woman! from all over there's going to be some good and bad times. Sometimes it can be loud.... music, arguing, playing in the halls,,fire alarms and people coming back from parties We have a curfew and no boys allowed as overnight guest. The R.A's are cool and host a lot of positive event's about anything from sex,friends,pregnancy,drugs,studying, poetry slams, etc... The dorms are safe and clean, maintenance and cleaning is there everyday

    Even though alot of work is due online , you have to go to class!! , thats where I began to mess up. During the middle of the semester the library becomes the hang out spot, don't go with friends!,and don't study in the common areas. The class room sizes aren't huge so you can get that one on one attention if your not to embarrassed to ask for it and learn your professors office hours!

    It's very easy to get side tracked with all the activities and parties going on, get your studying in during the day so you can participate without distractions. Must stay on top of your finical Aid! because Morgan offices are extremely crowded and behind on deadlines.

    I started at this school and I've been busting my butt ever since to get back. I love attending a H.B.C.U and Morgan has you surrounded with nothing but successful African Africans. I appreciate that Morgan has given students with low G.P.A's a chance to attend school.

    Because Morgan is an open campus it is easy for people with the wrong intentions to be on campus. For the safety of the students, Morgan is protected by their own police force and security guards and cameras that are on campus 24/7.

    Morgan is home to plenty of different organization, clubs, and Greek life . This is the best way to experience Morgan and to get to meet many of new people.

    If you ever want to be social there are three places you can go to accomplish this the student canter, the bridge, or in the back of the Rawling and Blount dormitories.

    Morgan provides two dining halls with Rawling's Dining Hall being the main hall which is served through a buffet style. The Canteen is the second hall which provides different food stations that are available everyday. In addition to the dinning halls there is Subway which located on the south side of campus.

    There are many dorms available about Morgan that provide a home away from home atmosphere. The resident assistance help provide a pleasurable experience and are there to make your stay comfortable. The dorms are clean and up to date and can accommodate any need you may have.

    The professors at Morgan State are great and always there when you need them. Getting to know your professors on a personal level is a great idea to have a better understanding about how they teach and what they expect from you.

    There is a Baltimore Police Station on Morgan's campus. As far as the patrolling on campus, it can be better but the police are always there when needed.

    There is always something to do on campus. For fun some students go to the student center where there is always something being hosted. Going to the basketball court , swimming pool or weight rooms in Hurst Gymnasium are great activities.
    Food and Dining

    Morgan State's dining include the Student Center canteen which serves varieties of food. From handmade personal pizzas, subs and sandwiches, chicken tenders, patties and nuggets with fries, and a salad bar. The canteen food is great! The Rawlings Dining Hall is where it is a all-you-can-eat style dining. Everyday there is something new.
    Dorm Life

    Dormitories on campus include Blount Towers and Harper-Tubman for female and Cummings House, Baldwin Hall, O'Connell Hall and Rawlings Hall for males. Thurgood Marshall are co-ed apartment style dorms. While Marble Hall are co-ed upperclassman apartment style dorms. Dorm life at Morgan provides students with an independent mentality. Some events that happen within the dorms are given by the RA's to bring bonding to the residents.

    The academic rigor at Morgan is challenging to some. It can be very easy if you choose your professors wisely and study. Pop quizzes and tests can become a regular thing so being prepared will certainly help you.

    There are mostly theft- larceny on campus but other that that, i'd say the school is pretty safe. They have on campus officers that will escort you if you need them too for any reason. Only pointer is bring a lock to lock up your stuff when you arent around it!

    Fantastic greek life! They throw great parties and i also think it would make your experience at the school alot funner. They even have the Divine 9!

    They have any and everything. If they dont have it, you can create it! All you need to do is gather at least 7 of your friends and bring it to someone's attention! Get the word out.

Since we are located in Baltimore, Downtown is not that far away.You can go to clubs, bars,out to eat, the aquarium. etc ..We have talent shows, cookouts , carnivals, football/basketball games .On campus, sometimes there are Frat/Soror ,Caribbean , etc. parties in our student Center.Everyone comes out.A lot of house parties.However, this can become a distraction ..Keep it in the middle of the road! of having too much fun can cause you to fail out !

    The campus police force is constantly patrolling to keep the environment safe. There have been serious security situations in the past but the philosophy about security around campus has been overhaulled and the student body is certainly enjoying the benefits of this new mentality.

    Morgan State has huge tradition of making it;s name known; not only scholastically, but throughout all realms of campus culture. We offer a strong football program, 2011 and 2012 MEAC Conference Champion basketball squad, reigning MEAC Championship cheerleading squad, the world-reknown Morgan State University Choir, highly acclaimed Morgan State University Band Program highlighted by the fantastic marching band, The Magnificent Marching Machine, the Student Government Association, anime clubs, foreign language clubs and all sorts of clubs that allow students to channel their passions for non-scholastic persuits.

    Absolutely the best instution for the cost in the state of Maryland HANDS DOWN! Fully-accredited, high-value degree, I STRONGLY reccomend you consider this a an option if you don't have $20,000 a semester to have over to University of Maryland College Park. ?In-state tuition is very affordable and the amenities offered are first class.

    There is a student center with many recreational options. An arcade, a lounge area, the gym is open to all students at a certain hour (this includes use of the indoor pool), a several internet cafe-style hubs all across campus.
    Food and Dining

    The food is pretty good. There are options. The main dining area for meal plans, an alternate option called the canteen which sells retail food (certain ammount of the meal cost can be deferred through your meal plan), a Subway restaurant on campus as well as various carry-outs, a highly-reccomended chicken spot called Sunny's and a McDonald's just across the street from the residence halls.

    The dorms are a little dated. The rooms are rigid but there is good reason. As Morgan moves into new frontiers, the resident life program will improve.

    There are a host of professors and departments that have set policies with strict guidelines. This seems daunting but really benefits the student. There is a zero tolerance policy for disregarding these guidelihnes. Accept that challenge and there will always someone there to help you overcome these obstacles. It doesn't hurt to really get to know your professors. They will extend services that will contribute to your advancement whether in understanding a concept or a leg up in your perspective career field.

    Campus safety is on point. There are campus police that are posted inside the dorm and outside in the police car. Then we have the security that walk around campus. Then we have the MSU exscort that takes you were you need to go all times of the day and night.

    The Greek life is great the organization really go all out during the spring. They have step shows and do their thing. there friendly and help out allot.

    Morgan State University puts student safety first. We have newly implemented a 24 hour student security program. We also have campus and Baltimore City police located right on campus that keep the Morgan Bears safe.

    The dorms on campus are newly furnished with wood frames; which means alot coming from my freshman year when we had ugly metal furnishings. An opportunity for off campus housing in Morgan View and Marble Hall Gardens Apartments are a great choice for upperclassmen. Whether you decide to stay on campus or not, do not be a house bug-GET OUT and ENJOY the campus!
    Academic Rigor

    The newly built, 24 hour operating Earl S. Richardson Library on Morgan's campus is great for study groups and plenty of quiet rooms for personal reflection. You will be sure to find at least three computer labs open during the day in the McMechan Business Building, Holmes Hall and Communications. Morgan's faculty also work with blackboard to accommodate the technology savvied student life.

    Campus Security does the best they can. We haven't had any big incidents on campus so the police do, do their job. The officers on campus are very friendly and helpful as well.

    The Greeks are all cool people, they also help out around the campus whether it be serving at the Cafeteria or cleaning up. Each frat has their own personalities. They are very fun people to meet with.

    There are allot of clubs to be apart of, you just have to search for the one that your most interested in. Each club has there own set of activities some of them might do during the weeks that school is in. But its all about finding the club that fits you and interests you the most because each club is fun and is a learning experience in some way of life.

    If you like diversity, then you would love Caribbean week. If you are interested in Greek Life then you would enjoy going to the probates. If you enjoy helping the community then you would love the Community Service Clean ups that the school has.

    Usually at dinner time the Refac (cafeteria) is the place to go when its time to eat because its a buffet style. Unusual locations to hangout would be outside in the middle of campus outside of the dorm named Cummings, when the sun is out and its a good day. Another place to hang out would be around the practice field. For some reason people like to walk around and hang out there..

    There are certain things that can be approved upon, and certain things you shouldn't have to buy because of how much tuition costs now. Other than that its a well spent investment
    What to do for fun

    I met some friends and together we created a dance crew on campus. I also go for walks and you can also catch the collegetown shuttle either downtown or up to Towson; which is where the closest Mall is. I also go to the different events held on campus.
    Food and Dining

    The food is adequate at Morgan. I wish they had more of a variety but you will enjoy it. The desserts are always good and breakfast on Sundays are great. But beware, if you don't know what it is I advice you not to eat allot of it.
    Dorm Life

    Dorm Life is amazing. You meet great people and everybody creates great experiences with each other. Each dorm has a different atmosphere but its all positive.
    Academic Rigor

    It really depends on the teachers and the major of your choice. If you love what you do then it doesn't seem hard, its enjoyment. Just know how to manage your time.

    Save your Money and Always look for ways to receive free money. Get involved around campus and within the different clubs to create more connections. Create a good relationship with your Student Adviser, they can help you allot.

    Robberies and violence do occur on campus, but it only happens to kids wondering around at three and five in the morning up. The Campus is between Morgans police department and Baltimore's police department so nothing Major ever happens.

    All the major ones are on campus and active. you do have to have a 2.5 in order to pledge.

    Any club you can think of is on this campus and if you don't see one you'd like they welcome you to start it.

    The dorms aren't all that great but there is a brand new state of the art library and student center so students really don't stay in there dorms at all. They are visitation rules in place that prevent anyone from staying over night or past 10pm on weekdays and 12am on weekends.

    The education really prepares you for your career and the professors will actually take the time to get to know you and help you during office hours. The only way you can really fail a class is to sit there and do nothing.

    Dont be afraid to ask for help or get stuck out at all the parties around campus. That is the easiest way to fail at this University. Help is only given to those who ask for it and every party is the biggest party so its cool to miss a few and just study.

    We have every Greek letter organization apart of the Divine Nine except for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. We also have Independent sororities and fraternities like Phi Mu Alpha, Tau Beta Sigma, Sigma Alpha Iota, Swing Phi Swing, Groove Phi Groove, etc.

    There are too many activities and clubs to even name, but a specific one that's close to my heart is the National Council of Negro Women also known as NCNW is an organization of organizations and we were established Ms. Mary McLeod Bethune and Ms. Dorothy Irene Height! We would love for any and all women to join!

    There's a mall right up the street, everyone loves to shop there. The 3 bus goes there. The same 3 going in the opposite direction goes straight downtown to the Inner Harbor where's there's lots of eateries, shops, movie theatres, and museums.

    Be sure to have copies of EVERYTHING! If it's one thing that I don't like about my school it's that they lose things very quickly. So just be on top of your paperwork and you'll be fine!

    I don't really know much of greek life, but from what I understand you have to be dedicated to it and pretty much know what you wanna do when you first get there.

    The dorm rooms are about average, but try not to bring to much stuff because it can get very cramped before you know it so pack light you can also go to Towson mall to get more stuff. But I will say that the dorm RA's are bull and don't even do there jobs, so if you have a problem don't even bother going to them cuz it will be a waste of time.

    The teachers are very serious about there jobs, and you will have to work to pass all of your classes. But they do understand that it is somewhat of a party school so they are willing to work with you every now and then.

    It is best to try and get involved in some type of club or team, because Morgan is a very social school and can help you adjust to being in a new environment.

    Although the dorms have certain limitations for visitors, it is clean, RA's are helpful, RD's are good people, and everybody at Morgan is cool so you don't have to worry about a bad roommate.

    No college campuse is 100% safe. With that being said, you should remain cautious and aware of your surroundings irregardless of your location. Morgan is an open campus, meaning it's open to anyone. There are two police stations located directly on the campus. The officers patrol the campus whether they are walking, driving, or riding bikes. Additionally, there are emergency booths dispersed throughout campus that are functional and convenient.
    Greek Life

    Greek Life on Morgan's campus is intense and culture filled. Morgan is a Historically Black College/University and Black Greek originated on those campuses.     On campus there are two eating facilities: the Refac and the Canteen. The infamous Refac is located in Rawlings, one of the male dormitories. Each day this eatery offers different foods.     we have 8 of the divine nine((African american frats and sorrors) on campus , as well as other fraternities and sororities. as well as o 200 organizations. and the best part is if there is one that you want to start all you need is 3 friends and an adviser and you are apart of one.

    student life is AWESOME. there is never a dull time you will always have something to do whether it be organizations, parties, sports games, events, and more. you will always find a way to have fun at morgan state.

    with subway, an all you can eat dining hall, the canteen, and auntie annes on the way . the only problem with these is the hours of business everything closes before 8. but the president is promising a changes soon

    dorm lifeis fun but has it ups and down. there is visitation hours for on campus dorm. and as far as off campus dorms, i suggest to just take the money you will get for them and get an apartment with a friend, trust it is worth it!

    At Morgan, there are alot of things to do for fun. We have buses that go from the mall to campus and buses that go from the Baltimore Harbor and back to campus. Every few weeks, some of the Greek Orgs., throw parties on campus. Also, if you join any groups, organizations, or teams, they travel and go to do new and different things.
    Food and Dining

    There are 2 main dinig halls at Morgan State. You have the one for if you want something quick to eat and also one that is buffet styled for if you want to sit down and enjoy your meal. There are also 2 restaurants on campus. A Subway and an Auntie Anne's Pretzels.
    Dorm Life

    There are 7 dorms on campus. Out of the 7 dorms, there is only 1 dormitory that is co-ed. There is also 2 off campus housing facilities that are co-ed.

    Some tips for prospective students are to remember your whole reason to be in school. Don't forget that you are there to receive a good education to further yourself in life. Also, no matter how hard things may get, always utilize your resources. There is always someone to help you.

    There are many on campus activities for you to do whether they are pertaining to you major or based on the things you love to do. Some activities include modeling, cheer leading, football, basketball, softball, bible study, SGA etc. There are also parties!

    I think that living in the dorms are fun. You get to meet a lot of people from around the country and possibly the world. Your RA sometimes plans small activities like movies and pillow chats.

    Students that attend Morgan I tell them this every time they ask that question. Morgan is what you make it which simply means that Morgan has so much to offer. organizations that give so much opportunities of events to attend and activities to do, for myself i'm in multiple organizations that keep me active and have me doing stuff almost every night.
    Food and Dining

    At Morgan State University has Thompson hospitality as their caterer for the food services on the campus. the food that Thompson hospitality is getting better than in the past a lot of variety is being offered which is making students more happy especially with them paying money for it.
    Dorm Life

    Dormitories at MSU are nice, they could use much improvements but that is what students are fighting for right now, we fight for change a lot here at Morgan State University. The dormitories give you what any other school would give you, a bed a dresser and a desk which is what is the main necessities in a dorm room.
    Academic Rigor

    The work load at Morgan is challenging which is good for students attending a HBCU because outsiders always believe that African Americans always want the easy way out. That stereotype is not true, because we work as hard as any predominately white institute around the country.

    Students that plan to attend Morgan State University (MSU), need to have the drive to do better than before. Students that decide to come here should be aware that MSU is an open campus in the city of Baltimore. MSU is a great environment where even though it is a HBCU there are multiple diverse people here at the institution that make the experience one of a kind.

    Someone gets robbed every week. This semester there were 2 shootings. It's not the safest campus, but Hey! it is in the Urban/City area of Baltimore, so what do you expect. Morgan does do a good job at informing students and loved ones through text and email if something does happen on campus that might threaten the safety of the school.

    It's great for students who seek a good cultural experience. At Morgan you will get exposed to a lot of new things no matter where you are from. The social life will teach you a lot.
    What to do for fun

    They have a lot of fun school activities throughout the semester and you can also find parties on and off campus. The only time it's every really boring is on the weekends when a lot of people go home.
    Food and Dining

    The food could definitely be better especially for all the money we have to pay for it. I don't know anyone who actually enjoys it. Be careful at the dining halls because you may see a mouse crawling around either on the floor or on the table.

    The dorms are as good as they are going to get.
    Academic Rigor

    Some of the teachers want you to just get by and give out a lot of extra credit and may slack, while other teachers will be hard on you and strict. They do have a lot of places designated for study and tutoring though.

    Morgan has a lot of opportunities on and off campus, I would say to take advantage of them all. Take advantage of all the speakers they have, the organizations, the workshops, and the people. Network yourself.

    There are a vast majority of clubs and organizations on campus. You can join one or just go to the events they have throughout the semester to have fun.

It is a medium sized Historically Black College and University that has many programs available for it's student population.     There's a lot to do here for fun. We have parties on campus and off. We also have other schools in the area so you can attend their parties as well. On campus we also have open gym on weekdays.

    Always have a buddy with you at night. It's a safety issue,try not to be too flashy, this puts you at risk of being robbed. Always be aware of your surroundings.

    Greek life is okay I didn't venture to much into this so I can't give you a personal opinion. But from what I can tell from the people who live it their in love with it

    There is a football,basketball,volleyball and lacrosse team. Theirs over a 50 clubs. Students are encouraged to create clubs for any sports this wish to become a actual team at the school or any clubs they wish to partake in.

    Any one can go to Morgan. But they have a great film and business program to enter. They really don't have a premed program here,so you would have to just be sure to take your pre requisites to be eligible for med school after undergrad.

    As it is a HBCU, your gonna learn a lot about African American History. Everyday you will have a chance to walk the freedom bridge to class. It's called that because at one time African Americans weren't allowed that opportunity.

    Morgan State University is placed in a great area, there are salons and grocery stores just a block away so that's nice.

    There's always something to do at Morgan. The question is do you want to take the risk.

    There are many things to do for fun at Morgan State. You can join a club, do intramural sports, go to on campus parties, explore the city of Baltimore, etc.
    Food and Dining

    The food at Morgan State is decent, but I wish it had more variety. There are only two main eating locations, the cafeteria and the canteen. The canteen doesn't give students a lot of food, which is not desirable for someone who likes to eat a lot. The cafeteria is all you can eat, but they fix the same food items often which makes it less desirable.
    Dorm Life

    The dorms are decent; however, there are no single dorm rooms except for the ones at Morgan View which are very expensive. This is a negative in my opinion because I like to have my own space and Morgan doesn't really have many options for that.
    Tips for prospective students

    College is a big step and should be taken very seriously. Unlike high school, no one is going to tell you what classes to take, when to take those classes, remind you about assignments, etc. In college, your treated like an adult and your responsible for your education, so make sure you stay focus and you will do well.

    Morgan State is a great school if your planning to obtain a degree in engineering. Morgan state is in a decent area and the police station is right next to the university. Morgan State professors are very helpful if you show them that you are interested and serious about your education.

    The security on campus is good. At night they have campus escorts to help you feel safe walking to and from your location

    The Greek Life here is great. Some of the chapters here show more of a brotherhood and sisterhood though. The step shows are always good to watch, and a lot of times you will walk to class or to the student centers and here one of the Divine Nine say their call.
    What to do for fun

    During the week there is always and event taking place in the student center. Many of the organizations on campus, both Greek and non- Greek, have meetings and specific weeks where they have several events every day (i.e. church service, and maybe a talent show later on in the week).
    Food and Dining

    The food is healthy, but often times the food selection is repetitive. For example in the canteen (the food court in the student center), the food choices do not change for lunch and dinner, but the FOCUS program here at Morgan is working towards getting better vendors so that we may have more of a variety to our food choices.
    Dorm Life

    The dorm life is exceptional. For example, the proper sanitation level is below par for some of the residents in the dorm. After your first semester, however, you have the option of moving off campus so you may meet your sanitation needs
    Academic Rigor

    The academics here are very rigorous. Often times you have some easy courses to help balance out your work load.
    Tips for prospective students

    Make sure that you thoroughly look into this great university. This school is most praised for its Engineering, Business, and Fine Arts Program. If you are a fashion, nursing or psychology major, I wouldn't advise you to enroll here because you may not be satisfied because those types of majors aren't highly praised here.

    Morgan State University is a very diverse school and has an excellent Electrical Engineering and Business Program. The outside sources for success in your matriculation through college is available and welcoming. The major downfall to this wonderful university is the funding and school spirit.

    The campus is a safe environment be it that you don't wander at 3 am by yourself because it is still an open campus.

    There are plenty of off campus house parties thrown by fraternities along with the events that are thrown in the student center. Also probates and step shows hosted around campus.

    What to do for fun

    The campus alone has a movie theater and game room. It has so many things to do that you wouldn't necessarily have to leave to have fun. Morgan has this club type room that has pool and such. Not to mention that the Orioles baseball field is not far.

    The campus is beautiful. The buildings were fresh and modern. The library has to be one of the best libraries I've seen. Someone told me that they have actually slept in there because its so beautiful and comfortable.
